Looks like you ladies had an amazing adventure and some much needed and deserved vacation. Those fish you both caught were awesome. Meeting a new friend who was so kind and helpful helps restore faith in humanity. Shelly was such an amazing person and hopefully a friendship that will last a lifetime.

It is so nice to watch wholesome content with you all. The memories that you are making will last a lifetime and finding new friends along the way. Shelly teaching some tried and true hacks and methods for how she ties lures onto the lines and then being there to see "the kid" catch the bass... I think she was even more excited than Alaia

I can't believe that you didn't have any of those fish for dinner...! Great video and trip! Note for next trip. The stabilizer jacks are for stabilizing the camper, keeping it from bouncing when you move around inside. (On a larger camper, you would break the jacks trying to level with them.) The tires and leveling blocks are for leveling side to side, and you drop or raise the tongue to level front to rear.

Hi Dominique from Quebec Canada id like to give you a few tips on setting up your camper before you unhook the camper and its in the spot chose you check the level from side to side on the floor inside if its not level you put a board under the wheel on the lowest side untill its level or as close to it as you can, then you can unhook it from the front and then use the front jack to level it from front to back. When that is done you can lower the stabalizers on the 4 corners do not use them to jack the camper they are not made to do that if its too heavy you will bend them.Once you have done that you can open your slide out and finish your install.Hope this helps you on further camping trips.

Hi Em, I am going to add my advice about the cinch knot process. The thing I find about Monofilament Line is that if the line is dry it can cause the line to get Hot from the friction of pulling the knot tight. Wet the line before the knot is puled tight. this will help you avoid Heat fail in your line.

When you have made 6 twists and put the end of the line through the bottom loop bring it up and put it through the top loop and cinch it down but first wet the line with saliva to keep from damaging the line. That's an improved clinch knot. I've used it for seventy plus years it never fails.

I’m guessing that the line was already stressed and broke not that your knot was bad. It also helps to spit in the line so it gets a little lubrication and doesn’t heat up when knotted.

I use the Palomar Knot. Double the line back on itself. Put it through the eye of the hook. Tie a loose overhand knot. Put the hook through the loop of doubled over line. The wet the knot and tighten. It’s the easiest one for me to remember and I haven’t had the knot fail.

Great fishing trip. Shelly was such a trooper! Your tying a clinch knot, your doing it right but wet the line before you cinch it tight. You might want to put on fresh line before your next trip. Look into tying a Palomar knot next time. Easier to tie and one of the strongest knot out there. Enjoyed watching you ladies catch some fish and enjoying your Texas hill country. Nice country but you can keep your Snakes! I’ll stay here in Colorado with our beautiful scenery and catch bass without seeing snakes! Enjoyed your girls trip. 😘

Aloha Emily and the Kid😊. Try taking a plier and pinch down the barb to make releasing the fish a lot easier on the fish and you, especially if it's a fish and release kind of a trip. Thank you, girls. Aloha🤙🏼🤙🏼OH yeah, put a tiny snap swivel with and a red bead on the line to kinda hide the swivel. That works for me on big mouth bass here in lake wilson. You have to think like a fish😂. Aloha again 🤙🏼🤙🏼

You ladies are so adorable. Looks like the kid is hooked on fishing more than ever at this point after that TOAD of a bass. The two knots I use for tying to a hook or lure is the Palomar and Trilene knot. Which one I use depends on which will be the easiest for what I'm tying to and also what kind of mood I'm in. You can go as deep down the rabbit hole as you want but sticking with the basics will usually work fine in most cases. I've been obsessed with fishing since I was about the kid's age and I'm in my 40's now. I stayed out of trouble when younger because I was too busy fishing. The compartments in my bass boat look like a tackle store. For soft plastic colors you can't go wrong with green pumpkin, purple, black, and red. I'll normally Texas rig and shakeyhead with soft plastics. For hard bait colors stick with baitfish and crawdad colors. Firetiger will work too in the right situations. The trick to fishing a crankbait is to run it into the bottom and/or cover for the reaction strike or do a start/stop retrieve in open water. Always keep some white and Tennessee Shad 2" twisters and some 1/16th and 1/8 oz jigheads on hand too.

The knot you described is a clinch knot or “trilene” knot which should be a strong enough knot. That lure is pretty heavy and was most likely way too heavy for the line you were using. I’d recommend at least 15 lb line for that type of lure. Also, those were some beautiful bass you caught 😮

Ok Shelly TOTALLY awesome. ANY woman who can say screw work Im goin fishin is a goddess. As far as tying knots all day long... two words. Snap Swivel. Tie once fish forever. My go to ANYWHERE is a simple red and white spoon (we called em red devils as kids). If nothing hits that grab something with a silver spinner dont matter what it is. ALWAYS go home with fish. Or really good fish stories!

Yeah I think it's time for a new window on the Bronco.
When I fish I use a leader on the line.
That way you can swap out the lure pretty easy rather than tying up a new lure every time.
Where I live not only we have the small Panfish and large/small mouth bass, but we have Walleye's and Northerns
The Northerns are good fighting fish when you reel them in.
Great bonding time with the kid.
I wish I had that camper for me to go camping and fishing too.
By the way I think you viewers can help you find that lure that is lost with a new one

I have 2 adult daughters and have fished with them many, many times. So fun and your video was so fun to watch. That was one heck of a large mouth Bass! Also, you amaze me how quickly you can make great new friends! Time for me to schedule a fishing trip with my girls!

That knot you described is a fly knot, my guess is ya trimmed the access off 2 close 2 the knot, then it slipped through, ya can always tie a granny knot over the the fly knot as well, best a luck!

Sometimes older line can get weak. Perhaps that contributed to the lure loss? Thanks for sharing the trip.
