    I’m tired of all this contradictory information. Another source said to avoid egg yokes because they are high in oxidized ldl cholesterol while egg whites are not.

    • @avalynn8409
      @avalynn8409 2 роки тому +1

      That may be outdated information from research that I've done over the years. It can be so confusing because research is also ongoing and they consistently flip-flop. As I understand it, egg yoke health benefits outweigh any negatives such as the high fat content. It would be much more prudent to be watching intake of sugar and processed fats/oils. Sugar is the leading cause of high cholesterol levels, diabetes, heard disease, etc.

    • @contentstarved991
      @contentstarved991 2 роки тому +1

      @@avalynn8409 Ultra processed sugar, among other things, is certainly a factor in all those things. Another problem is too much meat, though not because of the cholesterol that’s already in it but the saturated fat that becomes serum cholesterol, which causes the apo B (the boats that carry the cholesterol through your blood) to clog your arteries. Large quantities of small LDL’s are a marker of high risk, not because large LDL’s don’t get stuck in the arteries (they do), but because they hold less cholesterol, therefore require more apo b. The more apo b you have, the higher the risk of heart disease.

    • @avalynn8409
      @avalynn8409 2 роки тому +1

      @@contentstarved991 Yes, and it's not necessarily the fat content causing the buildup of cholesterol, it's inflammation that narrows the vessels so the cells can't pass through and get clustered. Inflammation is more likely to happen with a combination of macronutrients, like fat+carbs or protein+carbs. Or an excessive amount of all 3. Results of studies can be inconclusive because of many factors like ethnic origin, medical history, LACK of medical history/diagnosis, current conditions, subtle reactions to foods.
      For example; people who originate from Asia being intolerant to dairy. Or those who originate from certain parts of Europe (Spain, France, etc) can be sensitive to higher protein diets. I'm not a scientist so I don't have the knowledge to really explain that all in depth. But I can say that I vaguely know that has something to do with it.
      So, that means diet is not a one size fits all. That's why it's imperative to try different ways of eating and see which has the best health benefits individually.

    Toast? For weight loss? 😳 Banana? Muffins? No, this is not weight loss at all...

      of course, you can eat whole grains, i have lost weight myself this year eating all five food groups, I would limit my whole wheat bread or pasta or tortillas to 2 servings a day. example, breakfast i had one tortilla for a burrito then lunch one slice of toast and for dinner and snacks i do not have any more whole bread or tortilla

      I don’t think this is for a diet particularly. It is for healthy eating, and, if you eat this way, you’re bound to loose weight. All those veggies and fruit instead of beef and desserts. Even with all that oil, which is heart healthy, instead of butter, which is detrimental to your health, your weekly intake of calories would be lower. And your body may have less muscle spasms when you choose fish or chicken over beef and pork.

      You think weight loss = starving yourself
      You can eat toast, muffins etc. And lose weight it depends on how many calories you're consuming per day. If you eat less than your Maintenance calorie you will lose weight it as simple as that no need to starve or to eliminate all the foods you love to lose weight
      Well if you do then you're going straight into yoyo dieting 🤷‍♀️ you do you

      This absolutely can be weight loss. All diets are different so just because you eat carbs, doesn’t mean weight gain. Depending on what you eat throughout the day and your activity level, carbs can help with weight loss

      The Mediterranean diet is a lifestyle of eating. Not a crash diet to lose weight and have you fail that America loves to spew.
      The Mediterranean diet is filled with veggies, fruit, whole grains in moderation fish, and a lot of movement- people go for walks after every meal.
