  • I made a spoof of this video: • This is my BMW R1200GS
I love riding motorcycles, any kind of motorcycle. It just so happens that right now I have a KLR650, and in my mind that means it must be the best motorcycle in the world. In time I will get a different motorcycle, and it will become the best motorcycle in the world.
This film is about loving, and riding what you have now. Stop worrying about not being able to afford your dream bike, and just enjoy this moment with whatever motorcycle you may have.
The footage in this video comes from all over Panama. Beaches, mountains, even a quick shot of the bridge of the Americas which crosses the Panama Canal.
Written, directed, filmed, edited, and narrated by; Ryan Grassley
    Song: Long Road Ahead
    Artist: Kevin MacLeod

As of right now (166 views), either 166 people totally justified buying this bike or will buy this bike. Best KLR video on youtube. Love the vids. Can't wait for the full "vulcan beru" (sp?)

As an avid KLR650 owner, rider, enthusiast, I know exactly what you are saying. In reality no one will try convince anyone that they are the best, or most powerful. BUT, when I load up, and head out, it is not a ride,....its an adventure. I dont have to convince anyone its the best, they stop me whether at a gas station, pub, or the roadside, and by the look of joy on my face they know its the best ( for me ) and they always let me know. Love the video brother!!

OK well that's a first. An ode to KLR. Put a big lump in my throat. At age 74 I guess most of my off road travels are behind me but my 2009 gen 2 took me to the Arctic/Alaska twice and all over the west coast. Those are memories that I hope even dementia won't take away! Thanks for the effort you took.

I watched this vid not long before I bought a KLR. I've had it about 15 months now (first bike), and recently I made it up to the Sierra to run around old dirt roads and camp. Tyler Foote Crossing Road is a Gold Rush-era piece of hand-made dirt carved on the side of a ravine with giant stacked rock walls to hold up the road bed. As I bumped along the rainsoaked dirt on the edge of this 300' drop, the river far below, I finally felt like I was getting there. Thanks for the inspiration!

She's already decided she likes the Yamaha TW200 because it's small and weak enough for her to learn on, but also "it's cute." I'm pretty rusty myself, not having ridden in, oh, 30 years or so. We can probably teach our daughter on it, too. Eventually we'll have to have a family of bikes, I can see already. I showed her this video and her face lit up in a huge smile. Great work, man!

I must say that my KLR has been the source of innumerable smiles, for the very reasons you cited. I have other bikes and they're all good for different purposes, but the KLR is my bike of choice for the times when I just want to "get lost". There's nothing like exploring fire roads or canyons or even that trip through Big Sur.
If tomorrow someone told me that I could only have one bike, the KLR would be the one.

All bikes are good at the purpose they were built for. Ever notice how good Harley's look in the back of a trailer? They were designed for that.

My cousins and friends always made fun of me because I never "went fast". They called me pussies and it made me upset. Well fuck them, its my bike and I "loved" riding it. Now im looking at this bike, for awesome off-road adventures, but also getting me to school and back.

@dirkbikeman1001 It's important to love whatever motorcycle you ride. And you can't go wrong with a KLR look around for a good used one, you can usually find KLR's that were tricked out for long adventures that never happened. So great bike with all the extra's with low miles. Happy riding.
