We struggled a bit during this install and I'm not sure why because I've had the fender off again when I was cleaning up wiring last week and re-installed it with very little effort in just a few minutes. It's a very easy install and makes a huge difference to the look of the bike. Well worth it in my opinion.
He's doing pretty well, he's getting more confident with the bike, you'll see later in this series that he pretty much is doing all of the wrenching himself with little help from me. I think he's enjoying it and I love having him in the garage with me.
I’m a new sub. I’m in Indiana so I’m going through the same mess with the weather. Looks good. Good to see a father working with his son, seems like that’s a lost art.
Gavin and I work pretty well together, he loves being in the videos and I love sharing my love of harley Davidsons with him. Hopefully I'm a good teacher, the important thing to me is whether or not he ever has a bike if his own he'll have the confidence to work on his stuff himself rather than always having to pay someone else to do it.
Looks awesome. I want to do this to my ‘23 road glide limited! Did you have to get a extra wiring harness to install the fender? Mine is stock and my turn signals are on my saddle bags only. So I wondering how the wiring would work with only a run and brake square light on the stock fender. I appreciate any feedback on this. Thanks alot keep making content
This is amazing! I think it’s time you get a lift? But you and your son are a great team. BTW thanks for making spend more money. I ordered the T Torx bit set. Keep these coming and Ride Safe
There's much more to come.. you gotta have torx bits, very important! A lift would be amazing but we make do with what we have I guess 😂 Gavin is doing great in the garage. It seems like he's starting to enjoy working on the bike.. he's definitely getting more confident around tools and wrenching on the bike.
What did removing the tour pack speakers due to the head unit? Did it throw a code for missing speakers or just accept two speakers less? I’m looking at doing the removable tour pack, but no one seems to know what it will do the GTS audio. Thanks!
@@Touringmidwest thanks! Even the dealers couldn’t seem to tell me anything about it. The 2020s are really made to go detachable tour pack I guess, lol but I’m stubborn and working to what I want
Bought one for my girlfriend 19 road glide. Everything came in pieces. Had to figure out how to put lights with metal angle braces and had to figure wire harness install. Would it be too much for them to put directions? Installed one on my 13 road glide before before that. All came complete. Hook everything up and try lights out. Right directional turned left light on and vice verse. Had to pay harley to switch pins. Didn’t want to wait for new harness to come from china again.
Looking good. I've been thinking about this fender for my 19 RGU. I did the quick detach thing already and got some led inserts for the frame rails for turn signals. But, they don't have resistors and the can-bus throws 2 codes. One for each turn signal it thinks is out. It's no big deal other than my console turn indicators blinking fast. How's this in regard to codes? It looks cleaner, and if it installs and doesn't throw codes (you can tell just by your console blinker rate), then it may have sold itself. Either way, thanks for sharing this.
The lights look a little tricky.. mine were pre installed. Steve just did a video on the advan black channel on how to install them but it sounds like you have yours done already. It’s a good looking fender, I’m happy with it as well.
Honestly, you may want to think about the stretched bags. I have a similar fender, and although the stretched bags look awesome, they're not functional with the rear crash bars. Meaning, if you do happen to drop the bike, the bags will hit first, and, might not ever hit the bars. I've actually been thinking about going back to the standard bags, so I can have the rear bags. FYI; I've only ever dropped it once, and it happened in my driveway. I couldn't pick it up, without assistance, and I was a motorman, for 18 years. Also, if you've been paying attention to fads, the trend is more towards performance baggers, right now. The fender looks great, by the way. If you care to see my set up, you can look at my channel.
Yeah I hear you.. there pretty much only 2 ways to go with a road glide and that's stretched or performance.. I have a twin cooled bike so the lowers have to stay which doesn't fit the performance look. I deleted the saddlebag guards because I decided the same thing, bags are gonna get damaged either way.
@@Touringmidwest LOL! I'm probably going to buy some, to put on. After I dropped it, it really got me thinking. IDK, we'll see which direction I go in. If nothing else, they'll aid me in picking it up, if I drop it again, lol
@@Touringmidwest First off, thank you! But, like you, I've blacked my bike out already. I have a 2015, so I've had some time, lol. But seriously, thanks for the gesture!

Love watching the next generation of bikers learning from dad! Great video! 👍
I love having him in the garage with me.
That fender looks awesome. Changes the vibe of the entire bike.
It made a huge difference..
Hey brother - appreciate the video. I was struggling to figure out the license plate mounting. Good call on notching the plate.
Cool that you did this with your son. It definitely changed the look of the rear for the better. Who needs instructions!
Yeah... We got this! 😂
The fender look really good. Thanks for sharing the install process Ride safe👍👊
Thank you
Looks great Drew, well done Gavin enjoy learning on Dads bike 😎👍🏼
Good stuff Bert
Great video my friend..Enjoyed immensely..I try to do my bike addons in the winter also. I'm your neighbor to the east Wisconsin.
Hey, thank you.. yes winter is upgrade season in the Midwest lol

Very Very nice...looks great with those Cobra neighbor haters!!
Thank you, I’m very happy with how it turned out and the neighbor haters fill the opening nicely!
You're very welcome!
Love the new fender, really brings out the bike. Father and son projects are the best especially on our bikes. Keep up the good videos.
Looks good. You might have to slow down. Winter is loooonnnnggggg!!!!
It is.. I have enough videos right now to go weekly through the first week of April though so I'm feeling confident at the moment.

I have a 2016 RGU CVO. I like what you’re doing to yours.

Really debating between the CVO and Dominator fender on my 17 Street Glide Special I'm undecided
It’s a tough one, I wanted the cvo but ended up going this route.. I like them both.

I did think it was odd not to have install instructions but Steve does a complete install on the @advanblack UA-cam channel.

I had no issues with mine at all. I'm super happy with how this came out.
@@Touringmidwest Thanks for confirming. This helps confirm my decision.
Looks good. Did Advanblack paint the fender and bags?
Yup.. their color match seems really good.
I have the fender also. Looks awesome. Light mounts are garbage and a PITA to get the lights in correctly. Other than that. I'm happy with mine too.

@@Touringmidwest Yes, I've had mine over a year now. I wish they mounted like the stock ones this way we could use Custom Dynamics lights.
how the 50 cals line up with this fender?
They work good, seems like you have to go with the straight cut tips like i did vs the slash cut from what I’ve seen on other UA-cam videos.

Superior blue
Already a big change in the look of the bike. Too late for a time lapse I'm guessing?
I guess I could speed up the whole video??? I wonder how that would look?
