Hey Richard! Agreed. I do believe I am going back to the fender extension. I like the way it wraps around the pipe better. And I like the chrome plate and blinker light bar. The CVO fender would be great for guys wanting to eliminate the blinker bar though. Adding a chrome plate like the one by Paul Yaffee really sets off too but I really like the wrap look better for me.

Just purchased the new style cvo rear fender by advenblack ,very nice for sure! The one thing that it did not have that I needed was the 2 threaded studs to attach your cvo style front seat .it has the bolt hole already for the standard seat just no holes pre drilled for the front seat attachment.i don't mind it not having it I can still drill my own holes. But the new curved recessed license plate in the fender is very sharp and since I have the extended bags by them it all looks awesome

Well done. Some good detail in your explanations. Am I seeing that correctly? Looks to be a large gap (over an inch) between the fender filler brake light panels and the bags.

Hey Scott...thanks for checking it out. It looks identical to the CVO fender provided by HD. I was pretty impressed. ... It is for sure different look than the fender extension.
I like the look. Everything lines up nice and it gets rid of that ugly light bar. FYI Custom Dynamics has a nice curved lighted plate frame as well as Harley Davidson.
Ye sir I did forget about the CD one. I just seen it the other day. I think there may be a few more out there too. Definitely some choices and various price ranges.
Honestly I’m in love with the stock fender and the extension, because now if you look at the cvo you have big gaps for exhaust, when before it was clean and tight, I have a 09 and I just bought a 2010 fender to eliminate the big break light mine has and bought the advan black extension, been waiting on that Now in primer for 3 weeks now.
Yeah I think the guys running the 4.5 and 5" exhaust will dig this more. There is a noticbale gap at the fender extension ...Ill get the chrome on today and see how that goes...still up in the air for sure.
Great video. I've watched it a bunch of times before installing my CVO style fender and bags. Have to say though, Taking the OEM fender out was not nearly as easy as you showed. Then putting the new one in was much easier after taking the cast fender strut covers off. Gave just enough clearance to pretty much drop the fender in the way you described. After that it was easy peezy and probably spent more time obsessing over the wiring than the fender. Thanks for the great video.

I done been through 2 wiring harness. I like the video I wish you would show exactly how you ran the wires.
It goes right in the fender between the tire and the fender...HD's harness is exactly the same and its not a ideal. I run them down the fender, making sure itis very clean first. The stick it. THEN add black gorilla tape over the whole harness from front to back. I actually add a couple of layers.

Thank you Joe...There is an older version in the works..but I cannot say how long it will be. There are a few new parts coming out soon that are ahead of that but i'll keep you updated with that for sure as soon as I know more. For sure in the works already though.
When I plugged in my wiring harness all I am getting his parking lights no brake lights or turn signals do you know why this would possibly be? Is it possible I have the plugs plugged in backwards on the lights or something thanks
I have been looking at several bags and fender kits and most of them look like the cut outs do not line up with the fender and the bags. Yours look like they line up perfect. Thoughts / comments? And than you very much your video and description is very informative., great job.
well with this set up it takes some tweaking...youre putting a cvo rear fender with stretched bags...if you want a cleaner look get the bags and the fender extension.
We just installed love the look but break lights are staying on no change when you actually use the break how can we troubleshoot this
I have a 19 electra glide standard with the center brake light and side turn signals. Is it possible to rewire mine to use these cvo style lights? I haven't been able to determine if that would work or not.
Love the videos... suggestion on this videos we can only see the full view in frame for about 1.5 min(14:53 to 15:09) would be nice to see it without the tourpak....Im debating between the skirt or the cvo fender but it seems the gap around the exhaust is bigger on the CVO vs the Skirt....... Hello Cleber! Thanks for checking it out. Yes the skirt on the cvo is quite different around the exhaust area vs. the extended fender. This would be great for the people running large exhaust like the Vance and Hines Monster 5.5" exhaust. Plenty of room around the pipes. They both have their own unique qualities for sure. Ill try to get some pictures and link to you of it without the tour pack.
@@sikbaggers i know im late to this but ive got a 2020 RGS and im torn between the CVO fender and the dominator. im running tab 4.5 with stock stretched bags ( will move to 4.5 bags once fender is changed) would like to see more pics or vids of the cvo fender with 4.5 bags

Has anyone connected a Custom Dynamics Magic Strobes brake light flasher on this fender? I am wondering if the LED lights on this fender still work with the strobe module from Custom Dynamics.

Can put this fender on my 15 cvo Rg with short bags? Will the half circle of the exhaust cut outs come up to the bottom of the short bags? Will it look good or a mess?
it is a very nice product. I bought it for my special road glide. For me there are three problems all the same. First of all. In Europe, the indicators are orange. Everything on this product is red ... it does not comply with European regulations. Secondly When the turn signal is on, braking is not signaled at the same time! Third, the cable is glued along the mudguard (on the inside). With the heat it peels off all the time.

Not with this style light unless its a switch back style light...this light acts as the brake and turn signal and its all red.

At the end of the install you said we should make sure there is enough slack for the LED license plate light to plug in so it can illuminate. However, I don't recall you mentioning where this needs to be plugged in. Is this a separate plug in from the black plug you said we have to plug in for the CVO lights?
yes there is single plug that comes off the two side lights that is for the plate light. So on your harness you will have 2 larger plugs for the lights and one smaller one for the plate.
Does the replacement fender use the original BRACKET,RR FNDR SBAG SUPRT? The shoe horse that goes under. Behind the facia and into the saddlebag supports?
Yes it will use it

Does the Custom Dynamics Magic Strobe work with the fender LED lights ?
yes sir. Because the plug on the end of the harness is the same as the one you take off of your bike , you just plug it in just like you had it. This plug goes in to the magic box socket and then plug the MB socket into your bike.
Will this be available again in the near future I have ordered several times from Advanblack and i would like this setup to be next . Any time frame and would this fit a FLHR 2014
I dont think at this time they plan on bringing this one back. We had a few left over and sold them but we are designing a newer version...not even sure on the release date of that at this time.

Thank you! Yes the cvo fender is metal and the fascia is abs plastic ....its an identical match the HD CVO fender.

How about putting a fender extension on a 2019 electraglide standard
Hey Terry I have a video on a install on a road king...check it out as its the same principle for your electraglide. The road kings, ultras and electraglides dont come with the fender extension but you can add one...the video will at least show you what you need to do as far as mocking it up, drilling and then you will need to hard wire in a tri bar light at the bottom. Its a direct replica of the cvo fender from HD...and yes it will fit any touring model 2009 and newer.

oh...they sent me one like that too..but mine was a prototype wiring harness. They have the plugs for the plate light now. It would simply just snap in to the harness end like it is now. how do the look with stock bags non cvo style do they line up
They line up pretty decent with stock bags..the best fit is with extended bags for an over all finished look.
Had mine since I bought my bike back in 2018, starting to notice some cracks in it!? I’m guessing from the vibration from the wind while riding? Has this happened with other customers?
Not that im aware of..I have not received any calls from anyone on that issue. ...where is starting to crack?

Does this fender reuse the lower bracket that bolts to the stock non-cvo fender and rolls out to where the fender/saddle bag supports meet? I saw you pull it off stock fender, didn’t hear anything else about it. Thanks man
aahh yes..sorry man this is a very old video...I will be doing another new one soon on the new updated fender we have coming out. But yes you use the bracket.

Steve, does the harness all go inside the fender and the plug comes out the hole in top of fender? you gorilla tapped all of them to the inside??? thanks
yes sir...it runs up along the inside of the fender just like harleys does...I add the gorilla tape for extra measure and yes...I run it across the entire length of the wire and secure it to the fender.

Turn1Rob3000 hey man.. Well they are advanblacks first prototype. We have since re designed them 3 times to get a better fit. I think we nailed it this time and we are waiting for the molders to get them done. I've heard 2 weeks a couple of times from the molders now so I just wait at this point. We will let everyone know the day they are released and they will be on the website.

I see how you installed this Fender, but I just need to ask a question. I'm having difficulty with a different aftermarket rear Fender on my 2013 Electra Glide. The company that manufactures the Fender told me that I need to remove the Fender struts, install the rear Fender to the motorcycle, and then re install the Fender struts. They said that was basic knowledge for anyone that works on a motorcycle. Now that doesn't make sense to me because doesn't the rear Fender get mounted TO the Fender struts? If you remove the Fender struts, there's nothing to mount the rear Fender to, right or am I just crazy? I just want to be able to show them all the comments that come in telling me I'm not the crazy one. Lol

The Cvo fender fits 09 to 19..however u need the wire adapter for the 09 to 13. We don't have it listed yet but it done..you can call advanblack and request the adapter

yes, the fender will fit down to an 09 but the wire harness that comes with a 2014 up fender will not work on a 13 down

no, from 93 to 08, the bikes were thinner and shorter...you will have to look for a fender that fits 93 to 08

Can you put a cvo 2014 up fender on a 2006 street glide
Im sorry but no..the 08 down models have a much more narrow rear end so you need to find a fender that fits a 2008 down.

yes as of right now we have pulled the fender and are re doing the lights and wire harness...much brighter lights coming..also working on stretched version of this fender so it will match the cut out on the bags better
Steven Housden sweet! Hopefully you guys will have it all worked out soon. Im chomping at the bit. I’ve got a 2018 RGU it would also be nice if you guys had a stretched rear fascia that didn’t have the tribar light. But one that looks like the cvo piece without the side lights. I just don’t like the chrome tip on mine and would like the fender to stretch down further and then use the stretched saddlebags. I would have to plug two holes after removing the chrome top though.
Can we expect side panels and tank shrouds from them in the near future?
There are side panels coming very soon. They are in development right now. Will be test fitting a set very soon. Not sure on the tank shrouds or stretched tanks just yet. Could be a wrap fender coming after the side panels.

The fender is HD, yes, but has nothing to do with tour packs..its a fender

Where did you get your extended side covers?
Prototypes from advan black....we are in the process of making the molds now...no idea how long that will be but were getting closer to production.

It is the same quality thickness as your oem bags. Nice and sturdy. Paint is always dead on too. One thing I can tell you is advans customer service is one of the best. You have an issue...they fix it. Some of the best guys I have worked with. I am waiting on the new chrome license plate bracket from paul yaffe for this cvo fender..I think I will know better then If I am going to keep it on there or not. Just have to replace the plastic bracket on there now..doesnt do much for me.

Yes I put the extension back on with stock fender. I did take the cvo fender off but we have several customers running it. I have been running the fender extension for almost 2 years now with no issues.

Can you roll the fender off without having the bike on a stand?
that would be pretty tough...if you loosen the two bolts ( one on each side) that hold the rear struts to the frame it will allow the frame to separate more and you can squeeze it straight out but I dont think you can roll it very far with it on the floor.

we are coming out with a better version that matches the bags better than the CVO fender...still lights i the side and extended but we are out of stock on this one and the new one will be out soon so we probably wont make any more of these for now.

per Avant black cvo fender will work with 2012 touring bikes, however wiring harness will be needed..jarzproducts.com/index.php?id_product=41&controller=product
As for quality, would you keep it on your bike?
yes I would as far as quality. Its identical to the HD CVO at about half the price. I have installed some HD CVO ones and I wouldnt be able to tell the difference if you told me any different. This one just wasnt my style. I switched back to the extended fender with tri bar light.

Is there a us contact? I have left a message and emailed me them. I have a 17 with hot flame red, which they did make, I was wondering if they could send me paint samples of the other couple reds to see if could get a close match..
I am the US contact and this is something I would have to ask on to be honest. I am not sure they have a hot flame red paint. I will ask Becker and let you know for sure though. If you have facebook you can look up Becker Thomas from advanblack and he would be the guy you need to talk to about paint.
Steven Housden the color is hot rod red flake, i was wondering if velocity red would be close.
The Velocity red is a tad off ...I contacted them and they said they are working on the Hot Rod Red Flake right now. Should have a sample painted up very soon. Keep watching the advanblack website or join the advanblack parts review page on facebook. That will let you pretty quick when they have a new color.

Why go imitation, buy the real CVO and also get the BEAST 110 with rear fender and bags already installed.
The reason.... same fender at half the price. If you are one of those that just like throwing your money out the window...by all means..buy that HD stuff, hell buy a CVO and pay way too much for what you're getting. . For the rest of us..we like to have something nice and have a little extra in our pockets too. :)
@@sikbaggers I do own a CVO, 14 CVO Road King and the reason i bought one is because i can ride this scoot for 10 years and still get what i paid for it at the end. I wasn't knocking the product, just asking why duplicate an original.

Hey Cory....Im kind of up in the air with it right now to be honest. I think on my bike its missing the chrome on the rear end that im used to seeing. I got the second half of my chrome curved plate in today and I will be shooting a video installing it today. After I get that on I think it will be a game changer for me. What are your thoughts on the cvo fender style?
