EVAs are also like 4x the size of Gundams. Nobody seems to mention that. EVAs are a consistent 80m tall in rebuild series, Gundams are 17-20m. It would literally be a stomp.
Stop using the rx has a baseline. Vs a Eva a Unicorn is better or just the Nightingale... The Eva has just too many things compared to a baseline Gundam
Also depends on which rx-78.2 is deployed, a late war version of the rx-78 has its autopilot mode and more speed... and if we use the origin 02s more varying loadout and just.. more dakka.
I love gundam, but grandpa gundam just isn't that great. It's the most baseline gundam. As many have said, the unicorn or even the Nu would have been a better match up

Also, the AT field is not invulnerable...the strength greatly relies on the condition of the pilot and suit Wing Zero can just snipe from orbit...and the future prediction will find an opening Ur rooked Evas 😆
Rx-78-2 would loose hard to a evagelion period. If it not a high spec unit with higher ability like even a BD 1-3 it would have a incredably chance of 0 of doing any meaning dmg to a evangelion. The biggest would be a AT field has shown be nearly imposible to break normal standard wise. Rx-78 beam gun is compared to a battleship but that not nearly close to what Unit 1 and 2 has shown to defend against most At-Field breaking would be on level of Extremely higher power weapon needed like unicorn beam magnum or Wing zero high mega guns. Melee wise almost suicide for really any gundam against a evangelion that isnt design for close range and to outspeed one is even less so. Honestly pitting eva in any mecha fight would be almost suicide lvl with out bs lvl of power like unicorn units or G gundam( or other mecha series like Mazinger Z or darling fran hell even getta robo.)
