Arval is like a terminator. Created by [Those who slither in the dark] to kill Sothis. I love Arval's "undertale" way of handling it. Instead of simply telling you to perform these actions like a story-driven cutscene, he basically compelling you to do it, via the game system. Competitionists usually want to keep everyone happy and finish every side mission before finishing a game. Arval abuses both to make sure he gets what he wants.
@@lightning35 some people complained about Arval being “too generically evil,” but I’m so glad they’re wrong. Dimitri’s character development almost made me cry Claude’s route - best ending imo no one else is more fit to unify Fodland. Who doesn’t love Claude lol Edelgard’s route - guilty pleasure 😂
Indeed, this is not the Edelgard we used to know, they've changed the characters' personalities, the true Edelgard would never stand still in a situation like this.
I think it has something to do with byleth mom . byleth was not born alive , she placed the crest of flames in a baby byleth to help her or him live and because of that byleth live but didn't show any emotion or even cried instill there dad died after the crest of lames was held inside them jerlat said it was the first time he see them crie in the three houses . three houses rhea finally tells byleth the truth about how she a vessel for her rhea mother .
Kinda long but bear with me: The goddess (Sothis) had a physical body, was killed a long time ago, and her remains (the crest stone) were kept in what is now the monastery. Rhea is the daughter of the goddess and is the Archbishop. Rhea wanted to revive her mother and managed to create this one humunculus lady (Byleth's mom) in hopes that she could hold the crest stone in her body, awaken it and bring the goddess back. It didn't work. Later, Rhea met Jeralt, he was deadly hurt and she decided to transfer a bit of her blood to him in hopes it'd save him. It did! They part ways, but later on, Jeralt is back at the monastery. Jeralt and Byleth's mom, who was living in the monastery together with Rhea, fall in love, Byleth is born. But Byleth is born without a heartbeat, and Rhea, after B's mom plead her to do it, rips the crest stone from her and puts it into Byleth. The baby lives, but the mom dies. Now Byleth has the goddess's blood in them as well as the crest. Years later, the beginning of 3 houses happens. The right conditions were met, and the consciousness of the Goddess awakes, and now lives together with Byleth.
It's the people who do the cutscenes. I don't know who did SoV, FE3H and these, but it isn't ANIMA Inc. The thing is, ANIMA still does some animation for Fire Emblem, but only for the mobile game, Fire Emblem Heroes. You can watch them all on Nintendo Mobile, and they're all very high quality. It makes me pretty sad that the mainline FE games after Fates haven't gotten the same cutscene treatment, and Three Houses is especially awful with the inconsistency between 2D and 3D cutscenes.
@@robatfe The main issue is simply one thing: the cutscenes in 3 Hopes uses in-game models which limits their overall fluidity. The animated cutscenes from Awakening and Fates don't have this issue as the CGI used was made specifically from the ground up, so small wonder they look better.
What? This looks head and shoulders above the animation in something like Fates! I have no idea how someone could say this is bad looking when it’s anything but, especially compared to something like Fates
This game has changed the personalities of their core characters and the results are not so much different than the original game. A cheap strategy to gain more money IMO.
Uh no? No one’s personality is changed at all, certainly not the core characters. And the results aren’t very different? Are you even paying attention to the game? This is a canon extension of Three Houses that takes the characters and further builds on them, adding more lore to very varied scenarios. If you can’t see this, I suggest you actually go to play or watch the game in full. This shows only part of the game, and the story is very much still in the top tier writing of the original :)
I was afraid they'd do the whole "Arval is actually" evil crap, and somehow in the worst way possible. I do need more context since all I have to go from this video are two scenes but god, this somehow went against what AoC did and became predictable. I'm miffed that you even *have* to keep Byleth and Sothis alive for something akin to a sort of golden route, like at least have us kill Sothis too. I hope the game doesn't consider it as a golden route because man, arguably the worst ending than the other three, among the ones I've seen. Was also hoping that Byleth would be a final boss too and eliminating them and Sothis for good would lead to the true golden end or something but ig Koei Tecmo isn't bold enough for that
Arval isn’t just evil tho, nor is this game predictable. Judging from how it compares to Three Houses, it’s extremely far from predictable There is no golden route, and nothing close to it. It’s just war, and the game doesn’t shy away from the fact that no happy ending exists. Hell even with Edelgard surviving Dimitri’s route, she still ends up with a fate arguably worse than death Byleth and Sothis are important and well handled, but the thing you speak of is a single extra chapter, not some fairy tale happy ending. The game also doesn’t really shy away from the fact that Byleth and Sothis are far from heroic, and even hints towards how the Agarthans have some points too
@@DavidHosey1 I commented on this before I had more context and yeah what I saw lines up with what you say, besides Byleth and Sothis being well-handled because tbh they could've done more like have us directly face Sothis or something. While their death was satisfying to watch, it also felt anti-climactic and hollow
@@Lexicon865 I’m glad you found a bit more to enjoy with Arval, tho I don’t see much of what they could’ve done better with Byleth or Sothis. Byleth is at his best in this game, since he’s actually interesting and with a personality here due to not being controlled and monitored by Rhea and the Agarthans. Sothis is far less utilized, but until/unless they add more missions where you play as Byleth idk what they could do, since your perspective is more just Shez and your lord than anyone else (similar to why Agarthans seem one-dimensional at the first few glances since the they used to have 0 representation in the main characters) Hopefully we still get something good like that tho. Dlc is all but assured, and I’m sure they’ll at least add some fun characters at least. Let’s hope they add even more interesting lore through this game too
I don't know why you expected that. The agarthans have always been comically evil. Would've been nice to side with them just for fun though. Killing sothis seems kinda counterintuitive for anything golden route like. Not to mention sothis/byleth have god tier plot armor both died in 3 houses multiple times and still came back anyway.
@@yukiterumi5756 they aren’t really comically evil, the entire point of them is to show what endless cycles of this war has done to both them and the Nabateans, while also giving you no perspective to sympathize with them. This game does expand on them and gives them more implied and shown depth than before
So from what I'm seeing, this is basically a Mary Sue fanfic. I know self-inserts always have a bit of Sue-ness to them, with Robin and Corrin being central to the plot, but this takes it to another level with the way it takes the story of Three Houses and turns it into a "let's bash on Byleth and Sothis" story hour to instead make the new MC that much better.
You need to really play the game if you're just gonna judge Shez based on the cutscenes alone . As a character they're alot more fleshed out and broader of a person as opposed to the last two dumpster fire protagonists in the first warriors game . Moreover they're far from being a Robin and the even more worse emotional wreck that is Corrin . Shez is just about living their life and fighting for the highest bidder in the hopes that they get stronger to fight Byleth. The supports really show it and unlike Kris, he's not slurping off of any of the lords to the point that they just talk about training , Marth, Grandpa .

@@moon4236 incredibly weaker how ? Their power rivals Byleths and being a mercenary doesn't mean their dumb , I didn't realize that Byleth was any smarter than Shez considering that in three houses they start out as a merc , not a tactician like Robin and or Dragon like Corrin .
@@JCRXV they literally activate their super saiyan powers and Byleth still fucking demolishes them with little effort in his normal form. They are dumb because they jumped off a cliff to "become stronger" twenty times, constantly refer to how they shouldn't expect much from them in the brains department, use quotes from random books as a way to give advice and their Raphael support has Raphael saying "I'm so glad I found someone who is as smart as me :D" among other things. Clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed.

How come every ending is some variation of "the war rages on"? idk how im feeling about this tbh, but at least it's not like this invalidates three houses 🤷🏾♀️
No idea but even in three houses especially crimson flower ending still war against those who slither and possibly remnants of church
@@danielcook7975 and in verdant wind as well also twistd is not even mentioned in az.
@@jkarma3356 They're mentioned in the Dimitri/Hapi support.
@@lightning35 but that is only if you get the dlc.
@@danielcook7975 to be fair you were supposed to fight the agarthans in crimson flower but it was cut from time constraints
So again we get a cutscene of Dimitri besting Edelgard, Claude outsmarting Dimitri, but no cutscene of Edelgard beating any of them, just the gameplay battle, and them saying she crushed Dimitri. Still though, I like the cutscenes we got
At least we got Edelgard and Rhea not attacking each other, to focus on Thales. And of course, the high five! And The Twin Jewels, and The Four Banners...
Strange seeing side characters in the cutscenes.
10:41 Billy Kametz will be missed...😢
side note does the story change whether you kill or save Byleth?
yes.
Fortunately for me I was able to recruit her (Female byleth) but this reminds of character deaths impact the story from dying light 2 stay human
Make sure to save before you start the battle and pay attention to the different ways to beat some objectives. Avoid looking it up if you can because spoilers are officially everywhere.
Scarlet Blaze will have Claude betray but other wise it doesn't change much.
14:00 what happened right there, like was the slash so powerful that it caused multiple explosions, or did were they attacking and Shez won out?
I feel like sothis kept rewinding time trying to not get killed and failed at the end
I wish the kill shot was more clear but I understand why they didn’t want to show it
But klling byleth is what triggers the events of fire emblem engage
@@saiyanking5806 Palkia and Dialga moment. Space and Time clashing against another, only that space won out here.
Nah that’s just what happens when you game over in Three Houses
My favourite ending is surely Azure Gleam. The way Dimitri impales Thales feels so damn satisfying.
What you mean the one where he walks into the sunset with white text going over the screen?
Man I miss the 2d cutsenes. They were some of the best parts of the game
I think they actually are technically still 3D, it's just in a different style. I thought the same thing until I went back to three houses and realized the animation is 3D
Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes is Super WORTH it to wait since it was announced on the February 9th,2022 Nintendo Direct I had to wait long days starting from February 9th March,April,May and couple days in June to June 24th I Love Three Hopes is WORTH it
Yeah but fire emblem engage is coming out a year after three hopes so soon January 20th can't come sooner
Thank you for the video! How did you unlock all the scenes? I've completed each route 2 times but I'm still missing something...
Was disappointed that they reused the Byleth Death cutscene but still cool game overall 😆
But still killing her is what triggers the events of fire emblem engage where the fell dragon is wrecking havoc across the world
@@kevingame3198 that is not at all true? They are completely separate universes
@__________ well sombron said other universe which means he done this before bc zero emblem aka the emblem of the foundation It is most likely he open the first portal and opens the second to invade infinite worlds
What's going with Byleth?
So can someone tell me what Arvals deal is?
She's argarthan.. hates sothis. Doesn't like the fact you can recruit them and jeralt later if you decide not to kill him.
Arval is like a terminator.
Created by [Those who slither in the dark] to kill Sothis.
I love Arval's "undertale" way of handling it.
Instead of simply telling you to perform these actions like a story-driven cutscene,
he basically compelling you to do it, via the game system.
Competitionists usually want to keep everyone happy and finish every side mission before finishing a game.
Arval abuses both to make sure he gets what he wants.
@@lightning35 that's actually really cool how he manipulates the player through game mechanics
@@lightning35 some people complained about Arval being “too generically evil,” but I’m so glad they’re wrong. He almost hints towards good points some Agarthans have, and is far more of a separate entity that plays the game alongside you, rather than just a passive character along for the ride. Definitely a great character added to an already great story
@@peridrawland5955 Also, Arval is not in control of the drive he feels. He barely has any memories and only through Epimenides subliminal will, is driven to end the ashen demon.
Arval is a good boye who has the will of his evil father in the back of his head constantly pushing him on. He doesn't really manipulate you either, your goals coincide after all.
Only when Epimenides breaks through and subsumes his son into himself is "Arval" evil, but at that point its just Epimenides.

Di you mind if I use this footage for a video I’m working on if I give you credit?
Hearing edea lee from byleth is making me feel weird
It’s very weird especially if you picked Male Byleth

And shez would have killed byleth and that what's triggers the events of fe engage were epimendous created the fell dragon and alear defeat both the fell dragon and epimendous.
Dimitri route treats Edelgard so bad.
good
Yeah because it’s an awful fanfic. This whole game is a shitfest and unnecessary.
No it doesn’t, it’s just that sad things happen to her
@@oria322 lmao nah, clearly you didn’t watch or play the game at all. The game is a canon extension of the lore and continues the exceptional writing seen in the original game too. I highly suggest you check it out, so you can truly form an opinion on it :)
It's not about her, it's Dimitri's path.
I prefer 3H so much more than Engage. You just can’t beat these characters and their stories.
Dimitri’s route - always has my heart easily my favorite ending. Dimitri’s character development almost made me cry
Claude’s route - best ending imo no one else is more fit to unify Fodland. Who doesn’t love Claude lol

Is Byleth dies?
If he’s not recruited then yeah, Shez will kill him

Zélla (Ashen Demon)

Claude
This is my current deaths my path
I'm new to the story but why is Sothis in Byleth's bod?
I think it has something to do with byleth mom . byleth was not born alive , she placed the crest of flames in a baby byleth to help her or him live and because of that byleth live but didn't show any emotion or even cried instill there dad died after the crest of lames was held inside them jerlat said it was the first time he see them crie in the three houses . three houses rhea finally tells byleth the truth about how she a vessel for her rhea mother .
Kinda long but bear with me:
The goddess (Sothis) had a physical body, was killed a long time ago, and her remains (the crest stone) were kept in what is now the monastery.
No hate to the game, but why does the animation look.... So bad.
Compared to Awakening and Fates which came 5-10 years ago it looks just horrible.
I honestly prefer it after those choppy cutscenes in Three Houses.
Completely disagree, the animation here look amazing & much better than anything the series has shown so far.
thing is this inteir story line dose not make since.
Well it is gonna follow it up with fire emblem engage which takes place 1000 years after this game

Nothing of their personality changed, only their circumanstances, if you think otherwise you didn't pay attention to 3 Houses at all.
@@shadowsquid1351 facts 110%, it feels like people seem to forget how varied and multilayered well written characters like in these games are
I was afraid they'd do the whole "Arval is actually" evil crap, and somehow in the worst way possible.
Judging from how it compares to Three Houses, it’s extremely far from predictable
There is no golden route, and nothing close to it. It’s just war, and the game doesn’t shy away from the fact that no happy ending exists. Hell even with Edelgard surviving Dimitri’s route, she still ends up with a fate arguably worse than death
Byleth and Sothis are important and well handled, but the thing you speak of is a single extra chapter, not some fairy tale happy ending.
Sothis is far less utilized, but until/unless they add more missions where you play as Byleth idk what they could do, since your perspective is more just Shez and your lord than anyone else (similar to why Agarthans seem one-dimensional at the first few glances since the they used to have 0 representation in the main characters)
Hopefully we still get something good like that tho.
Nope, MC is not only incredible weaker than Byleth for most of the game, they aro also kinda dumb and people know it lmao. Oh and you can recruit Byleth and they both become friends lol.
@@moon4236 incredibly
weaker how ? Their power rivals Byleths and being a mercenary doesn't mean their dumb , I didn't realize that Byleth was any smarter than Shez considering that in three houses they start out as a merc , not a tactician like Robin and or Dragon like Corrin .
@@JCRXV they literally activate their super saiyan powers and Byleth still fucking demolishes them with little effort in his normal form. Honestly I think the gameplay against Byleth for the first chapter speaks for itself.
What tf does them being a mercenary had to do with them being dumb.
@@moon4236 you really have some flawed logic if you're just going against the grain by a gameplay stance. Real funny because said saipan powers from byleth vice versa using divine pulse definitely helped in the end . Okay . And if you really wanna get down to it , insulting someone's intelligence isn't helping your case anymore than you using it to try and one up me .
Why the voice acting so bad compared to 3 houses?
The voice acting is pretty much exactly the same. The only one I noticed a real difference with was Edelgard. Her microphone seems kinda iffy sometimes
If I would’ve been in the Three Hopes dimension being as Shez I would go find the Female Ashen Demon (Byleth) without giving up even if it’s sacrificing to kill Byleth once killed I’m cutting her body into meat cook her and eat it I cannot fucking believe Female Byleth killed:
Scarlet Blaze: Killed Randolph
Azure Gleam: Killed Rodrigue
Golden Wildfire: Killed Judith
And speaking of heart Once Byleth kills those 3 she gets a heart attack and comes back to normal and then she runs off If was Shez I would chase her and pay her back and never giving up even if I get hurt and slashed by Byleth sword I am not gonna give up
