Which is your favorite Engage Cutscene?
That Ivy intro cutscene I still love, and it’s so funny considering her actual personality. But something I didn’t notice on my first play through was how different some cutscenes are from others. One is more shiny, bright, and polished and the other looks more like the in game models.
Corrupted Lumera going all "Theatre kid" on Veyle. She was given an assignment and she followed it to the letter lol.
Alear’s death. Megan Taylor Harvey deserves an Oscar Award for her voice acting. Oh and Alear becoming the Fire Emblem and gathering all the Emblems for the final battle.

Oh, weird. I never caught that, but hey I mean it's cool. Awakening had such better art direction and character design. Any time I get to look at Kozaki Yosuke's sweet sweet character art is a good one.
The cutscene where Alear takes a huge bite out of that burger was insane.

I honestly was not expecting another Engage video after sometime, and even though you already made a video about the story with all the cutscenes, it's still nice you made a video for the cutscenes alone. Overall, enjoyed Engage.

I've never realized how long the death scenes were💀💀 (even Fates' death scene was faster than this)
Mikoto's death scene was very quick relatively
She gets stabbed many times by shrapnel, falls into your arms, asks if you're unhurt, and when you say you're fine she's glad and then dies right then and there
Despite some issues I have with the story, I still enjoyed Engage for what it is, and don't worry about the full story movie video you made a while back, it's kind of nice just seeing the cutscenes alone.

Oh dang, was not expecting you to make another Engage video, let alone the cutscenes after the story video, but I won't bite the hand that feeds. Personally, I still think the DLC did far better with the story telling, despite it being short, but that's just me.
Correct I feel the dlc was better in the story department. Although I will say I had issues with dlc lol like I really didn’t like the gameplay

Despite what people say about the story, I thoroughly enjoyed Fire Emblem Engage. Hell, I wish there was a Warriors spinoff based on Engage.

I stumbled across a cutscene missing from this collection - there’s a “bad ending” if you get a game over during the endgame where Sombron brings Veyle back under his control and revives Alear w/out any divine powers. It’s a pretty chilling scene. Not sure how common knowledge this was and unsure where to share it 😅
The story of the game feels like a verdict day but 2.0.

Would it be at all possible to use what you've done here as a mod for the game somehow? I kinda doubt it cus the file sizes are probably huge with the upscaling work and what not, at least I would assume its quite likely, but I just think it'd be cool if we could actually just replace the video files with these ones, but idk how feasible that really is, love seeing stuff like this get done for cgi that got shafted cus of hardware tho, nice to imagine what it should look like

These cutscenes are always so amazing. Ever since Echoes, it's been really up there. Awakening and Fates' were good too, but I think it really got good starting with Echoes.
We really need a Fire Emblem anime, there is SO MUCH potential. So many games get them, and it's not always good, but a modern Fire Emblem anime could be amazing, with such amazing animators and artists, powerhouse studios such as Studio Bones, Aniplex and Trigger, there's no better time than the 2020's, when Fire Emblem is in its golden era in my most humble opinion.
Even Genshin Impact is getting an anime, or I guess got one already.
Even if it's like a Fire Emblem Heroes type beat, it would still be perfect.
With how good this animation is, it feels like such a waste man. Hell, I'd even take a 12 episode single cour season every year or couple years, and they could make it episodic like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, or Black Mirror as another example.
Maybe a more Pokémon Origins / Pokémon Generations type short series? It could be the start Fire Emblem needs. Get it going in the way Pokémon did. Pokémon had some killer anime, stuff that held up to the standards of current stuff at least in terms of art/animation quality. Then they did Twilight Wings, Hisuian Snow which was elegantly done, the complete overhaul of Ash's journey redone with better visuals and such, and now with Pokémon Horizons, the best looking one yet.
If Fire Emblem did a similar thing, well it would for sure solidify itself as a top anime and claim it's crown and rightful place on the throne among the other kings and queens of anime. Maybe that's bold to say, but look at this stuff. It's beautiful man.
I'd even take something a little lower in quality if we could get more of it. Like a 12/24 episode season a year for however long they decide to do it.
It's probably wishful thinking, but I don't think it's that farfetched. So many amazing games are getting anime adaptations these days, even NieR Automata. Persona got some anime series. It could be in the stars. So I'm staying hopeful!!

It's not an Engage video upload from PM1 without randos always wanting to chime in "Well you see, I really didn't enjoy the game in my opinion~" Don't get your knickers twisted, this isn't saying don't have opinions. I'm saying ALOT OF YOU never pass any vibe checks in a given room LMAO. Like there is something even more condescending (even compared to how I'm talking lol) when someone goes "I thank you for your opinions on the game, I still don't like it but its nice you that you were able to find joy out of it" Its the type of thing I tell people who watch Mid-Slayer.
While everyone has their own opinions on Engage, I often felt disappointed in the characters and story of Engage throughput two different playthroughs. Many of the supports in the game felt shallow and hollow with the characters often talking about their likes and dislikes rather than their goals or dreams. Meanwhile the story left a lot to be desired with the dull tone and lackluster characterization of the main lords. While not everyone will agree, i wanted to share my opinion
Same. Story is bare bones; characters are meh but there are a couple exceptions like Ivy and Yunaka who are really good and deep characters. Supports only get good around the A support or for late game characters which by that point many just give up bc it’s so dull until then. It’s definitely a gameplay focus game
@@regulusking4299 The sad part for me is that I played through the Gba and Tellius games that also had simple stories but felt more interesting due to the growth of the main characters and how many of the characters interacted with the world around them. In the end, Engage feels like fates version 2 with great gameplay but completely terrible characters and story
@@eternaldarklight8204 I feel Engage executed it better than Fates bc Engage knew it wasn’t taking itself seriously. While Fates had a good concept and failed miserably. Fates tried to be something it wasn’t while Engage was simple on purpose and knew what it wanted to do
@@regulusking4299 Well for me, Fates and Engage failed as fire emblem games because they had interesting concepts with alear, veyle, corrin and more but completely squandered the potential of both games with terrible story writing and characters that relied on tropes and gimmicks like muscles, tea, animals and more to supply their support conversation rather than using it to help the characters grow in a meaningful way. While I will give praise to Engage's and Fates's music and gameplay, the lack luster characters and terrible story left a lot to be desired
@@eternaldarklight8204 I can see what you’re coming from, I’m just saying Engage isn’t as bad as Fates in this department. Fates made so many people mad bc it set itself as something great when it failed at it. Engage people knew coming in it wasn’t going to be the most serious so lower expectations

This game fell off unfortunately. I feel like the discord around Edelgard kept Three Houses alive way longer lol
While other fire emblem games like three houses had flaws like the graphics and gameplay, it truly shone in the characters and world building by showing how the world around them shaped the lives of its characters and their goals. Engage for me never does this and feels more hollow despite its more simple story
You can’t really have a conversation about this game. Once you beat it that’s it. There’s no game+. Plus the story is to basic to be interesting and characters were not really that good. Heck for this game all I hear about is the main character being called toothpaste Chan and the censorship of holding hands and discussing someone being fat
