It depends if it's a film production you need like a Macbook Pro because of the filters and graphical effects and also rendering cgi and using green screens to add them to the scene
But for simple editing m1 is fine

I agree. I was just surprise how fast Resolve was on M1. But if I'm in a studio with cgi, etc I would probably push the rendering on a dedicated machine for that while I edit elsewhere. But yeah I want to test the pro next
