Sandro as always your the man! I like the shop set up and how you have the wash bay. I’d love to see update to 15 sealants, wax’s, paint coatings, of course if you have the time!
Great video and great advice! Great video per usual!
Hey man, listening to your video about having limited time and a obviously successful business. I’d personally look at allocating even a couple hours for free time per car or just cars whos owner are unsure on what jobs they want done. Yes it hurts you slightly, but it also keeps your jobs perfect and stress free
I agree, Subaru blue is one of my favourite colours. It’s disappointing that Mazda and Subaru have such thin paint as, in my opinion, they have some of the most beautiful colours on cars. Can’t wait to see the final product, Sandro.
Would it be more cost effective to use whatever ratio of isopropyl alcohol and water, versus those paint prep sprays? Is the paint prep spray doing anything the IPA mix doesn't do? Just curious so I know if its worth spending the money on that stuff.
They are quite similar in performance but a little nicer to use. If you can get the isopropyl alcohol in bulk at a good price as well as some distilled water you can save some money, but at least here in Australia 100% isopropyl is very expensive as is distilled water to the point that it’s usually cheaper to buy these panel sprays in bulk.
I just got my 2021 STI like 3 weeks ago and i can confirm that the dealership swirled it up really bad. About 2-3x worse than the STI in the video. It looks as if they used a cleaning broom to wash my car. I complained and subaru said they will detail it for me. At least i have close friends that will detail it for me if it still looks bad.
In a lot of video's it is forwarding/skipping x times per video. Not with Sandro's because everything he says is important and can be learned from, so NO skipping at all but listen it all out! Looking forward to the next part(s)!

Love your videos!! With all of the knowledge from your videos I'm going to paint correct and cermaic coat my car. It just happens to be a 2018 Subaru Sti Type Ra in World Rally Blue!! Can't wait for the 2nd video. My STI has about 2.5x more swirls than this overall. Do you think Carpro Essence with a Lake County Orange Polishing pad on a Torqux DA will be enough to remove the swirls considering how soft the paint is? Also, how would I go about correcting a Caron Fiber with a gel coat? Mh roof and wing are CF
Thanks, and if the swirls are deeper you may need something with a little more cut but I think that could be a good place to start and just see if it works well in a test section. You can use the same pads and compounds to correct carbon fibre, but it’s usually a little harder to remove defects on it so you may need to use a slightly more aggressive combination.
Question for you, as I'm just about to start a ~week long process of completely detailing my car and ceramic coating it. Is it possible to polish black plastics? I have an evo 10, and it has a very large plastic diffuser. It's taken quite a beating over the years, and major scratches and gouges can't be repaired, im more concerned about recovering the sheen it had when new, as it's now more of a dark grey than the black it should be.
Fantastic content as always, glad to have found your channel :). May I ask, why do you foam / rinse from bottom to top, I’ve always been taught top to bottom, just curious!
Thanks, and I don’t generally rinse from bottom up - there a bit of a segment of detailers and enthusiasts that do I’m always trying different techniques so I I’ve been testing this one out.
You are able to see and keep track of where you’ve precisely rinsed a little better and it does force you to rinse longer and more thoroughly because you are working against gravity, so they can been seen as advantages, but there is also the question of whether pushing dirt back up to run down and reintroducing it on the upper panels is a better way to go, and I’m not entirely convinced- but we’ll see!

And the paint. I have a lot of little rock chips and I use touch up to help mitigate that but if I would have known how bad the paint was from day 1 and had the money (which to be honest I really didn't) I would have gotten a high quality paint protection film even though I really hate paint protection films. I am a purist in the sense I like a thick clear for protection and not a film but I think on the wrx/sti it makes sense. Hey bro, I dont see any floor drains in your wash bay. How do you deal with all the water? I am in a warehouse building and I wash outside then bring it inside....but especially in the summer, I'd like to wash inside. I cant install drains so just wondering what you do.
There is quite an expensive and large chemical separation drain that sits under the vehicle in my wash bay and an exterior holding chemical tank - it’s something that in my area is required by law. @@CarCraftAutoDetailing ahhh, well I guess it was just not noticeable. Yeah, I've been looking at containment mats. I may go that route since I cant install a drainage system.

No, isopropyl alcohol is really pure alcohol while methylated spirits is more of an alcohol petroleum cocktail. Isopropyl alcohol diluted with deionised water (1:4) tends to be a an idea preparation car panel wipe.
It's so hard to find a good detailer. Bought a new car, went straight to the detailer from the dealership for a ppf and ceramic coating and I've had to take it back 3 times to get the film reapplied. Totally regret spending nearly $4000, the film has been nothing more than a headache. Even had to wash the car myself, after taking it to them TO BE WASHED, because they had done such a bad job.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thanks. Would be shame to have a chipped paint on such a beautiful car. Great quality video Sandro. You don’t need any words for your detailing ability but your video producing and your words of wisdom , wow! Thanks mate!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Sandro...have you considered using the Defelsko Positector 200 advanced paint thickness gauge? It's ultrasonic and will give you 3 layer thickness measurements, and specifically the exact clear coat thickness in microns, they are alot pricer than stardard gauges, north of $2000usd for a unit, but I think it would take out all the guess work, and you'd know exactly how much clear you had to work with, I've been wanting one for a long time, big detailing places in the UK and US use it.
Unfortunately they only measure seperate layers on plastic or fibre based substrates - not metal on panels. I don’t believe there is a gauge that measures separate layers on painted metal ... yet!

Any reason to start from the bottom of the car and work up rather than top down?
You get a slightly longer dwelling time with the foam of your start at the bottom.
Great video..ty
Hello@@UCOcVjrjvQmciOGWexARl_ZA, would you like to review the new MJJC foam cannon pro? Or using it in the detailing video?
How much does a service like this go for???
The roof on my mazda is under 70 microns. I dont remember a spot in the entire car that even got to break into the 90s.
Yes that’s sounds pretty much right to me!
Is isopropyl alcohol the same as methylated spirits?
23:00 is that chipped paint at the door edge?
No that was just a light reflection
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thanks. Would be shame to have a chipped paint on such a beautiful car.
Great quality video Sandro. You don’t need any words for your detailing ability but your video producing and your words of wisdom , wow! Thanks mate!
Where can I get that wheel cleaner @ 4:34?
It should be listed in the description box - it’s Nv Purge, and if you’re in the States it’s at parkscarcare.net/
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank you! Is this your website/products?
Also, do you mind sending me the link to the wheel brush that you specifically use, I can’t seem to find it
No I don’t sell detailing products, but I’ll give you link to where I got the brushes
www.waxit.com.au/collections/wheel-tyre-brushes
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank you for your time 😀
What foam cannon do you use?
It’s the older version of this one

Which air dryer do you use?
It was the Metro Vac
I don’t believe there is a gauge that measures separate layers on painted metal ... yet!
please tell us that you did this in three hours
Well if you leave filming time out of it, yes, give or take.
How can a car paint be so knackered and be new? Soft paint?
Yes, partly due to the softer clear coat but also party due to bad washing practices used at most car dealerships.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thanks man
I did a sneaky cheeky like before i even watched the video. I'm so naughty 👌
Lol
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing 😍
need some matte paint
Yikes, pretty thin paint.
my Mazda 3 (2013) has the worst paint I've ever seen on a car.
First
🥇
No cleaning will protect it against catastrophic engine failure.
veakool
You should have taken that spoiler off, it ruins such a nice car
it's iconic rally heritage. check out the less aggressive wrx, that may be more your speed 😉
subaru typical horrible paint ever
Boy do the stock exhausts on the STI's sound like butthole.....
I actually can’t keep watching I need to stop the video. How can the paint be so knackered? My 11 years old Mercedes has a better paint
