I 64 now i have only just got in Northern soul since 2017 when i was 59 i was into Motown but love Northern soul so much i love the moves to Northern soul Motown and Northern soul dancing is similar but with northern soul its more high kicks and back drops i did have a chance to go to a alnighter in Cambridgeshire back in 1975 when i was 17 but turned down the offer because i was told there would be a blue haze across the room ie dope and i didn't go but i have done a aldayer i want to do a weekender soon hopefully next year

been on this scene since 19 72 my wifes been on it from 1971 she started at the catacombs wolves from 1971 / 1974 seen it come and go same as the scooter scene but stuck with both all that time now they are both back at the top more lambrettas in the uk than harley davidsons true fact like northern soul more followers than ever just got my grand daughter in to both scenes its a away of life KTF class tune rita also done by gloria jones rita tirars better tunnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeee
Betty and The Chevelles never sounded better. Great quality almost sounds like the master tape! Nice that one of biggest Stafford Records made it as for me growing up in that era after Wigan, Keb, Guy, Pat, Ady Pountain, Gary Rushbrooke, George Sharp, Kev Draper, Dave Withers and others became mini Richard Searling's after Richard was winding down.

Went to wigan casino, everybody has got into the music, im happy. But the proms is a low point, cant sing music show people taking the emotion out of the songs, they are bad! Keep the faith, but not them.

Nice one forgetting the 2 lads that started Stafford off Messrs Thorley and Minshull.I hate all these naff 'Northern Soul' films theresnot been a proper one out yet which really gets me seeing the 'advisors' theyve used to make them.Theres already enough breadheads on the scene itself making a bloomin good living out of it without film makers doing it with washed out tripe. The breadheads at Wigan tore the scene apart the 1st time round with all its comercialism. Sticking crap on TOTP, issuung more crap ripping 'normal' people off that was looking in seeing what we were doing. Then to top it off Walker and Russ let in the bloody cameras to get even more publicity that brought in all the spectators expecting to get pissed all night instead stood round the dancefloor watching the floorshow before falling asleep under tables etc. They took away all the places in the club ijits like me travelled 160 miles every week for years so we couldnt get in the place even tho they were cramming them in way over the fore limit. So many friends gave up on Wigan because of that and started going to other places. Djs also. I know it was a long time ago but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Everyone looks back at the Casino with rose tinted specs and while I loved the place I remember the bad bits too and these films dont help at all. Rant over ;)
I dont know about saved my life but I dont honestly think I would have changed anything in my life connected to the Nothern scene. It wasn'y all good tho as I ran into a few problems with different constabularies trying to help keep peeps chewing. But all these films are similar to the news that comes out of the Sun and Daily Mail and wgich is full of shite and ots nowt like the version that really happened. Unless of course they was one of them that went to Wigan 3 times after they saw Wigans bleedin Ovation on TOTP and now tell everyone tyhey were regular goers! hahaha I sound just like some moaning old git! I'm really quite a happy lad. Unless Chelsea lose!
