  • Today I took a minute to reflect on some of the old tractors I’ve had. Every one has been an adventure of sorts, but I can’t keep em all! These were some of my favs

You have to admit the turbo/intercooled 466 engine on the 7520 sounds great. I completely understand about the potential costs to maintain it. The 7520 is one of the best-looking tractors of that generation, at least you can look in your photo album and say, "I had one of those!"

Very true. I always was a sucker for how good looking of a tractor that was. That actually has the 531 turbo/intercooled motor. Same as the 6030 would have

Interesting relationship with farming machinery, I would keep every tractor n combine but understand if was equipment that upsize or change farming practices, would taken IH seedbox off seeder n turn it into icebox or toolbox👍

Just subscribed! I have an old 1100 and love it...really enjoyed the makeover! It made me want to show mine some love. Starting with replacing hydraulic filter and fluid . Are there 2 drain plugs for hydraulics?

there is one on the center section and one on the rear end. The center also has a cover on the bottom so you can clean the pickup screen. good luck! thanks for the sub

Hey man, thanks so much for responding to my 1100 question. I’m draining hydraulics....and does the cover you mentioned have like 10 bolts in it? There’s a third drain plug all the way back on rear end and I don’t want to really mess something up!

Sometimes. The 7520 was one, and possibly my 255. The others I don’t miss much lol

I moved that one along. It was an old A2 and was getting tough to get-make parts for. Did a nice job, just couldn’t keep it together for 5 acres at a time 😆

I couldn’t tell ya, only ever checked it once to get a year on it and for parts ordering. I don’t have it written down anywhere that I can find now. It was a 1973

    • @tracykuckuck2343

Ok I thought maybe it was an early 1972, I think some came from the factory with the short alum name badge early on. My “73” has a long yellow decal the length of the hood,# 1943. We also have a “72” model, #1383 that we plan to paint and decal like you did yours, you did a nice job!

Gotcha 😉. Mine had the long decal originally but I put the short one and the old school 4 leg Deere decals on to “personalize “ it. Always liked that look
