J T you are a master , at Thrift , work and ingenuity , a great example for us all . I’ll take an older truck any day, paid for and making you money , your old Gimmy trucks made made for a lifetime of service. American Iron all the way! Thanks for making the videos.
I wonder how many vehicles get junked every year just because of cosmetic damage that looks worse than it really is. A good vehicle with a dent or a scratch, is still a good vehicle. Buying a different vehicle is like gambling. You don't know what you are in for. Great video. 👍
Love your tractor videos. Saw this one and it inspired me to perhaps buy back my truck from insurance company and fix it. The wrote it off. 2008 gmc 3500 dually diesel. $31,000 damage. Front corner like yours but didn’t impact the wheel or steering. A driver hit my rear duals. Knocked the differential off the springs. Spun me around and I hit another vehicle. A couple of friends have told me to keep the truck. My truck was in mint condition and 112,000 km in it. Diesel engine 4X4. I don’t think the rear end is damaged. The springs aren’t broken either.
Awesome repair. Now, for a couple of pointers. 1: Use a longer extension when removing the bolts from the fender. 2: Well, there is no number two. Cheers.
Hey! Happy New Year! Thanks for sharing your truck repair. I have a 2001 GMC in great shape. They are good ole trucks. Can't afford a $65,000 new one. Hopefully mine lasts a long time. Keep up the good work!
FLUFFY is your accountant,, huh? "Over budget..." (claws out)! And now for some arm chair critique. Should have got that rotten fender out of the way before the mechanical repairs. No headaches! Then while the fender is off tackle the exhaust gaskets, oil cooler tubes, and other common leaks on these trucks. Now you're 500 over budget rather than 8! 😀 thanks for sharing your projects with us.
Hey JT, about six years ago my wife hit the back of a heavy truck perfectly in the trucks hitch and the left front frame horn of my rendezvous. The hood , grill and fender were untouched but the bumper cover a sub bumper were destroyed. The frame horn did what it was supposed to do and accordianed about eight inches taking the radiator support with it. After about half an hour of making no progress I cut the frame horn and damaged radiator support out of the car. I drilled out the spot welds and pounded everything straight and then welded it back in place. Picked up a salvage bumper and a new bumper cover. The car was black as was the replacement bumper cover so there was no paint involved. $350 in parts and about a day's work. The insurance check was $4300. Not too bad. We traded the car about two years later and told the dealer of the damage and repairs. After they checked it out and checked the "car fax" ( there's a lesson here) they gave me $4600 trade in. It pays to be handy!:)
New sub here, great job on the repair there sir, I had a 01 chevy a bunch of years ago and these PA winters just ate it to it's demise, I do miss that green bomb lol!!!
I hear that! The MI winters eat these trucks like crazy lol. I bought this one a few years back real cheap and did the rockers, back doors and box arches in it. The frame is still solid on this one, and that’s usually a bad area on these. Thanks for the sub!
Wow! Good job J.T.! Very impressive! I would say you screwed the insurance company on that one 😂. But you still had to do the work. Happy New Year to you, Mrs JT and Fluffy. Looking forward to seeing you get back into the 1155.
Really nice. Thanks for the inspiration I have a BMW that well let’s went deer hunting. The insurance probably won’t fix it I probably will. Thank again you are one of my favorite UA-cam channels.
99 percent of people have no idea how what when or where how much you saved by do it yourself enjoyed the video it might even provoke others to try a job like that
Although your videos show the most important things that need to be done, it would also be informative to see what you must also do to clean out your sprayer between coats and/or for proper storage. Thanks for good content.
Very nice! this makes me miss My 04 i just sold. Sucker had 336k on it and very minimal rust i had bought it from the original owner, it was a garage-stored truck. Went out and bought a '91 K2500 Light duty 6 Lug, 5.7/7004. I was looking for a 6.2/6.5 diesel but no luck. Btw i stole that '91 for a damn good price, Got it in a bundle with a Newer $6000 Boss Hydro-Turn plow. A friend down the road has a 96-98 Ext cab 1500? with a 6.5TD in it, needs some srs TLC though. Still may buy it. Could we see a video on the JD Sled?
Those 90’s chevys are some great trucks. Hard to beat the ease and reliability of the 5.7. Won’t get the mileage of the 6.2 but it’ll keep working! I’ve considered a video on the Deere’s, just need some snow to stick 😉
Understand that .I'm just impatient . Lv those tractors .want to see the beast in action . .use that babes car .fix tractor first please .cheers .safe times an travel ..👍

I'm from Italy, I found your channel by chance in November. Keep up with your video, I really like your way of doing things.

I’d be keeping and fixing it!
Nice work on the truck. It looks to me like that is not the first time Fluffy walked across that roof. Looks pretty comfortable up there.
You got a fun way of presenting your work JT !
I like it 🙂
Cheers, Ard
I love your dry Spence of humor
Nice variation on the 'f+-k around and find out '. And good job on the truck.
Gotta keep it “classy” 😉
Not a bad lookin truck there ! Definitely work fixing!,
Great video JT and cost effective repair.🇺🇸🇬🇧
That old truck will still be ticking around when trucks coming off the lines now are scrapped
Vunderbar JT. She looks like a great woodhauler. Say is this the same black truck you couldn't start?
It is not. That is my 454 square body. This was my daily driver
You should do a video about the old John deer snowmobile
Great Video. I really enjoyed the truck pulling its own core support back straight. Looks pretty decent for barn paint job. Thanks
Sometimes you have to think outside the box 😉
Really enjoy your videos! John, west of Ireland
Thank you sir!
What a job friend first class work well done from Scotland

Thanks! That cost me about 1/2 of one payment on a new one lol. More money to blow on tractors 😉. Keep that 01 taken care of, it’ll take care of you!

Have you seen the prices of used trucks!! Or $508 to fix a good Ole reliable truck NO BRAINER plus it makes a good video
I figured for what I have in that won’t cover 1/2 a new payment lol
So fluffy is now doing cat scans on the roof? I think she has been sniffing the paint thinner😅
🤣🤣🤣🤣
She can scan the whole county that way 😆
Got to love that Victory Red!
Look good Joe , nice work.

I’ll keep that in mind. I’ll be painting a red tractor in the near future 😉
I like your approach to just go fix it yourself, Are you by chance in Michigan.?
I am.

Hi JT, what's your surname ? Just trying to figure out if you're a bit Irish, you seem to be. If not you'd fit right in here.
No Irish here, but I’m good at drinking and being merry 😆
Good job for $508. If you had put it to a shop. It would have cost 3 times that.
Thank you!
It may have cost 4x that lol
If the women don't find you handsome they should at least find you handy.
That’s what I always say!
Never mind .that thing .I won't 1155 .hurry up please .cheers merry Xmas an stuff
Next video! Only have room for one at a time in the barn lol
