I love these videos where you sit down and discuss things like this. The way I always interpret this type of thing is what I’ll call truth Vs ego. On the side of ego I find those who fall under the pretense usually center the issue or belief in question around themselves and padding their emotions in spite of logic and or contradictions. This also ties in a lot of confirmation bias, and mob mentality bias, along with blind trust to tie it into the mob mentality. The consequences of this mindset goes from plain ignorance to hurting others. And on the side of Truth, the mindset typical goes to a more open sense of reasoning and formation of beliefs, taking all angles into account and allowing more neutral outlooks. And even this mindset has its consequences and extremes, mainly becoming apathetic to problems through developing a neutral and uncaring viewpoint. Both of those are at rather dangerous extremes in modern politics. Ego being most extreme with the cut throat intensity of the 2 party views clashing heads, and the truth being apathetic and not getting involved in a meaningful way. These things have gotten much more extreme as time goes on and isn’t just limited to politics obviously. The ego mindset as I describe it has become alarmingly more common and accepted in its extremes. I’ve noticed this sort of thing has created incredibly harmful environments for all sorts of people and generally divides people in very unfortunate ways. Unfortunately it’s a problem with not a lot of answers. And even more unfortunately those who suffer the consequences of the ego mentality as you mentioned, now seem to avoid it by refusing to budge their beliefs in any way, resulting to lashing out when mildly questioned or pushed. It’s really unfortunate to see and deal with in the world and it’s hard to know a great answer to the entire subject
Runtys getting philosophical wit this one🗣️🔥
