We attended the A&M open house last week which offered a very good pancake breakfast and tour. Andy did a phenomenal job explaining his operations which is way more than just boiling sap. Very interesting how he has built a fully integrated operation across all aspects of the Maple syrup business. Yes, I did buy some Maple sugar rub and smoked ribs the other day. Excellent! Looking forward to coming back next year and bringing friends!
@MeadAdventure it is a multivariate equation. Inflation is one variable. Technology is another variable. Annual global crop has at least dpubled in 23 yearsm. Has technology improved in 23 years? Has the USD/CAD exchange rate changed? I'm pretty sure tubing and vacuum technology have improved. I'm pretty sure tap count has increased with the average yield increasing per tap, too. If every other variable was held constant, then yes, it seems that the price is not in line with inflation. But not every other variable is held constant.

Good people.
If you aren't a fan of Andy Kaufman reading The Great Gatsby on stage... than you probably won't find the ending as funny as I do!
For additional maple syrup needs, try the U.P. of Michigan.
You aren't kidding! Lots of good maple syrup made in the UP!
@@BissellMapleFarm In 2001 I sold a bunch of light amber for $1.90, that would be $3.34 adjusted for inflation.

@@BissellMapleFarm There is an increased cost to the technology, the additional syrup is not made for free.
Remember the good old days during the "vid" when you could breeze through Chicago with nearly zero traffic?
Ha! Yup. Maple syrup is essential. It was a glimpse into the zombie apocalypse.
Hey you didn’t show the evaporator - I like seeing those to so nice and shiny
I know. I regret not having Andy's evaporator in the video. Next time!
love to help if you come to Wausau
We've been approached about a building already!
