  • This video is all about slowing down and getting a nice gentle stretch through the neck and shoulder area to release tension. This video is suitable for beginner yogis and goes very slow and gentle. If you're experiencing mild tension through the upper back, shoulder and neck area, these gentle yoga stretches should be helpful! As always, move within a pain-free range and take breaks as needd.

    Thank you!! I thought I'd had to call on sick today because of migraine. But now the headache is more bearable and I will at least be able to take the big meeting I organized for today. And after that I'm gonna go home and do this video again and rest 😍

    I love when poses seem simple yet when you get off the mat, your body feels brand new. This was that type of session.

      Thanks so much for the feedback, I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better. Check out my Instagram - I talk a lot about muscle imbalance and posture, both of which can be root causes for headaches, particularly if they're on one side.

    Currently on crutches. And this practice offers great relief in the evening! Thank you! And any recommendations for a tight upper body (shoulder/neck) and stiff knee (injured foot, the leg is really tight from being in the "crutching position") welcome!

    What if I can't sit cross legged ? Its like I'm going to roll right on my back if I don't lean forward. I just did your bed hip stretches but I am super tight in the hips. How long will it take to loosen up so that I can sit upright like you show here without struggling?

    • @yogabycandace
      @yogabycandace  5 років тому

      GREAT question! It just means your hips are tight, so sit on the edge of a yoga block or rolled thick blanket. This will help push your pelvis forward for a slight anterior tilt that will help you to sit up straighter without feeling like you will roll back. You need to practice hip opening yoga consistently (3x/wk for at least 9 weeks) and you will see some improvement. Keep working on it and eventually you will be gumby! :)
