This is so true, I am from a family of six siblings; five girls one boy. I am the five siblings, fourth in girls. And it always criticism and comparison to younger sibling or older since young; but being estranged for more than 20 yrs, I am content, a lawyer, an author and now working on pitching a food cooking show.
All I am saying love your children unconditionally, for other children (siblings) will see and hear these criticism and follow heed that can become mean and bullied tendency's that can be traumatic and or have a cause and effect to household, ones mind, body, heart, and daily routines....

Complacency is not contentment, but an interesting view that gives me much to think about.
The biggest problem is finding ourselves/myself stuck going in a direction that is not what we/I had prepared to do.
My heart is not in my work, but my mind knows I need the work and the place is, objectively, a good company.
I'm struggling with staying where I am and staying with that work as it doesn't build on what I've made. Even degrees lose meaning if the work for last 10yrs is in a completely different space/work.
I've been told to do my current job well, and unexpectedly, opportunities will unfold.
I will try this, but my personal life has been in hold for a professional life that hasn't manifested through my current situation. To develop this other part seems like a distraction.
How do I console this irrational thought and work on my personal life while the professional is basically under construction for the foreseeable time?
