- "Slipknot performed a special small show to commemorate their 25th anniversary at Pappy & Harriet’s in Joshua Tree National Park. The band priced tickets at just $9 for fans at the very small venue. Fans saw Slipknot history as the band performed for the first time with a new drummer believed to be Eloy Casagrande. The banned brought back their classic jumpsuits to commemorate their 25 years of history and also some very menacing new masks too. Corey brought back his old dreads as well. I agree.. Eloy will allow them to play older tracks which I'm so happy about. I'll see them in a couple weeks, so can't wait.. Also Eloy was needed so they can make heavier faster beats like it used to be. Only OG Slipknot fans will understand!

Totally agree. A huge difference between eloy and Jay. Precision, strengh, loyalty and integrity to the songs written by joey. The band is on another level now, it hypes me up just as much as made me mad with jay.
I don't think chicken little knows much about drumming and/or the drumming in Slipknot..Eloy is a big improvement over Jay,with all due respect to Jay..

If you genuinely knew drumming you'd recognize that Eloy got the guys back on tempo and the pacing of the songs is much closer to the originals. Jay was a great member but his timing was all over the place. Eloy is a human metronome.

You make it sound like Slipknot has had a ton of drummers. When it has been 2 previous drummers. Sometimes bands evolve, and the needs for them do also, perhaps this was the case with Jay. Don't understand the 17 minutes of bashing, weird flex.

Not that easy from this video, but Eloy is miles ahead of Jay. Them playing old beats is the first clue, Jay couldn't match Joey's speed.
@alrath629 maybe so, but im no expert. I watched him on a few sepultura live videos, and although a great drummer, i wasn't blown away as i was expecting to be. I thought the brand new sepultura drummer was more exciting
@@dlwseattle Compared to Jay, this guy is a god. Watched most of this show, and he can keep up with Joey and hit tempo that Jay never could. He is a great fit. Not trying to knock Jay, but he just couldn't keep up with the old school pace.

I remember being 10 years old and seeing Slipknot on Top of The Pops on British BBC TV. Even then I wanted to fall asleep because they were nowhere near as loud or heavy as I thought they would be. I wasn't even into metal, not for at least 5 years

This isn't the only one-off show they're going to do.
The “venue” was a small restaurant that has a small stage in the back and slipknot had to extend the stage. There’s only so much space between the stage and the wall. It’s to the point where we couldn’t really move around to mosh after the 2nd song. It was a sold out event. And the person recording only recorded the stage didn’t look back seeing everyone jumping and singing the song
Plus it was in Joshua tree area so some of us were on psychedelics

The last few years have been rough for old slipknot fans. I feel like the shady business side of things overshadowed any music they had recently created. That said, these new performances look and sound so good! Taylors voice is as good as it was when they peaked!

Dude.... Not only am I a SlipKnot fan, but I am also a drummer with 40 years experience playing and teaching. Eloy is the best choice for a drummer that SlipKnot could make. Jay was okay but his double bass was weak AF and needed triggers. Eloy hits so hard and his swivel technique double bass is so accurate and heavy.... no comparison. Technically speaking Eloy is just an all around better drummer than Jay and a better fit for SlipKmot. I am so excited to see what's in store and can't wait to see them again. Eloy had previously posted covers of Knot covers on his youtube, I recommend you check those out. He is so well suited for those songs and his abilities go far beyond metal. Check out his drumeo stuff also. Particularly the videos of his incorporating traditional Brazilian drumming into metal... he is the MAN. If you are con erned about the Jay thing and Conan... whatever, go do some easy listening reviews and leave the metal to real coniseuers of the genre.

I saw them 25yrs ago, and my impression was, style over substance. I still think that.
The clown even had a specific cymbal to throw about, it would break, a roadie would go pick it up and take it backstage, and it would reappear for the next song and cymbal throwing tantrum.
Very entertaining, though. The kids absolutely loved it, and I'm very happy to give them some Brownie Points for pointing a lot of da yoofs in the right general musical direction, eh.
