Jimmy Hall and The Wet Willie Band are still killing it in 2024. First time I photographed the band was in 1973 when they opened at Madison Square Garden for my favorite Jam Band The Allman Brothers. It was a very special night and the first time The Brothers played and SOLD OUT MSG. Jimmy and the Band were welcomed and everyone enjoyed their set. I have also photographed Jimmy lending his talents to the annual Allman-Betts Revival 3 times since It began. One of Wet Willies best surprises was their afternoon show at the 50th Anniversary of Capricorn Studios a few years in Macon. The Allstar Band that night had many legends who were in concert at The Macon Auditorium with over 20 artists on stage. Wish Wet Willie would would do another tour, maybe with The Allman Betts Band to keep it in the family😀. Everybody KEEP ON SMILING🤗
Wonderful finding this today! I used to go see Wet Willie open for other bands then half the time I'd leave before the main band came out. I saw them up close and personal in Indiana in the 1990s and again in the 00s. Jimmy never stops!
OHY! The Halls w/ Ricky Hirsch. Now that's Wet Willie proper not that I don't miss John Anthony's classic electric piano just a little bit. Not too much cause this is spot-on great!
