Could you have a look at the MI Fire Tinderbox please. I’ve just got one and am very disappointed by the controls and can’t for the life of me find how to take off the Defra kit. Seems to absolutely rinse through logs

I have seen these stoves. They’re relatively simple imports, but I’ve not looked at how they’ve designed the DEFRA kit. May be worth allowing the stove to fill with some ash and perhaps use some larger logs if possible. These 2 things are a good starting point for increasing burn time.

Hi! Could you tell me about Scanb 30? Is it ok (compare to Scan 67), or too old technologies? I don`t understand, is it use air from bottom only for lighting and then air come from the top of stove? I can`t find info about it except 4pages manual. I need more info for decide buy it used or not for a reasonable price. Thanks!

I’ve looked up the same 4 page manual. It seems like a nice and smart stove, and with the control, it appears to have 1 control, so this will be mixing the air itself. It’s certainly older tech, but I would very much expect it to still be brilliant.
Let us know how you get on.

Hi my HWAM Smart Control stove has got a night setting and it burns all the wood through the night and it’s all burnt out by the morning.

That sounds really interesting. I’d love to try one of these things f I get the chance.

The Wiking range (made by Hwam) offers similar functionality but is mechanical using a bi-metal strip rather than electronic. The clever metal mechanism seems very reliable (and much quieter!) and can be manually recalibrated it needed. It opens air to ensure a full burn to ash, having earlier closed air to avoid a wasteful ranging inferno. Suspect you would have a new record for your sack of logs burn time test using it. It is a 'fuel and forget' for several hours design that leaves clean glass's, walls and just ash. You really need to test one. For me it's been a game changer.
