Is there a follow up on this plant? I'm in the same situation where I purchased a fiddle in early June and all leaves are drying/falling off. Prob will only have 1 leaf left. I'm drying the root ball out and wonder if I can just use organic seaweed in my watering to bring this indoor plant back to life. I live in the USA - Maryland
I have a fiddle with a long stem with no leaves. I want to cut the top and reroot it in the same pot to make the plant as a whole seem more bushy. Is this possible? do you have advice.
If I can't track down Charlie Carp in the U.S. do you happen to know of another brand that Fiddles respond well to? (I was just going to write the ratios down and try to find something that comes close in terms of nitrogen/phosphorus/potassium)
So the issue was overwatering in the beginning? The symptoms match mine... I didnt think I was overwatering but thank you for this video! Will dry out root ball with sparse water and then fertilize the plant.... is that correct? Then water once every 1-2 weeks.
i have a fiddle fig and the leave are brown not sagging ( pretty much all the leaves). i live in Seattle and the temps have been low (35 degrees) and its indoors but i don't keep the heat on while i'm at work. What should i do to get it to not die. its definitely headed that way. HELP!!!
Hello, I have a question and I can't seem to find any resources online. I found this video by accident but perhaps you would know what I should do. I bought a fig tree someone had propagated and it was doing fine the first two years, although I had overwatered it at first and it lost all its leaves. But the next year it came back beautifully. This winter however, I stupidly repotted it into a larger pot with extremely dense soil and I'm afraid I suffocated the roots. I noticed that the dormant bud tips had shriveled up but the main branch still looked very healthy so I figured it would put out new shoots. When I checked a couple days ago, it seemed worse. I scratched slightly at the main branch and while it was deeper to get to green I did see some. I transplanted it yesterday into a tighter container, shook off some of the wet dense dirt, and potted it into a 1:1:1 ratio mix of sand, perlite, and peat moss. I watered it slightly this morning and moved it indoors into basically the same amount of light location where it was outdoors. What do you think? Any hope? Thanks so much!
I need help, I wish I could insert a pic of mine. My tree has about 5 huge leaves, 2 of them have browning on the tips and the leaves look dry. Please help I don’t know what to do. Is there a like a rescue fertilizer I should get? Should I dry it out or repot with a different soil?
👋🏽 hello, just wondering How did you dry it out? Did you just not water it for that period and leave it in its pot or did you dry it out by leaving it out of the pot to allow air to get in to roots? I have purchased 5 fiddlehead figs recently, I love in QLD and they are indoors all starting to get black spots. Majority of my house is dark so I cant have them all in naturally bright rooms, is that ok?? Please help me🙏🏽
Hi Che, You can remove each of the fiddle from the pot if they are at least slightly rootbound (YTube will have videos on that). If you remove from the pot they will dry out quicker and get air to the roots (worth putting them in a darker room for 2 weeks too). Help bring theminto a dormant state. For some reason they seem to like this and recover quicker. Naturally bright rooms is perfect
I experimented with two fiddles a few years ago. One bounced back (took a year) with 3 new branches emerging but was never quite the same in size and the other literally got 2 new leaves and that was it. Fingers crossed your's bounces back
Thank you. I have since closed the business and thought it might be worth keeping them on you tube in case people need some tips. Not the best of quality but hopefully I have helped a few people along the way :)
Had you repotted the fig tree at this point or not yet? Just curious as my friend has a fig I want to try to save! I’ve been drying it out for two weeks now and want to follow your suggestions going forward! Thanks!!!
Can you do a video on what to do when all the leaves are gone and the only thing left is the stalk?

Can you revive a fiddle leaf if it's just the stalk/trunk left?
I managed to save mine and it was just the stalk.
That’s where mines at right now. I cut all the dead leaves of and now I’m concerned.
