Now compare the maneuverability, sustained turn rate for example . I think the legacy F-18 without external payload with EPE engines will be better than the Block 50) Only the Block 30 can be better than the Hornet)
The F16 clearly is the winner in this very very vague comparison. There are simply too many variables that are inconsistent and unknown to really make a true determination. You would need two slick jets (the hornet was not), at the same fuel capacity percentage - not weight (unknown), and what the throttles were set to - burner, mil (unknown). And then what are we racing to - Airborne? 200knts? I still think the hornet would be slightly behind as the falcon has a very slim cross-sectional area, unless were are just doing first off the deck, the low speed high AoA aspect of the hornet could edge out here on a clean jet to leap off the deck before takeoff speed is achieved and it may be able to motor out to stay flying. But a more fair comparison is truly needed for evaluation.
The F110 family are a super nice line of engines. Sadly the US never purchased an aircraft with the -132 variant and its 32,000 lbs of thrust. Even the F-15EX is using the -129 and you can see what it's capable of with is "paltry" 29,500 lbs. 🤣🤣
@ well, because of maintenance issue. f110 is one of the most relaible engines like 404. 132 is only on block 60’s. I remember one of arabic countries only have that variant. Also? They paid r&d for that engine to Lockheed. Personally, I would use 129 on ex’s even if I decided.
@@highway9patrol It was the UAE who purchased those. I had an former co-worker who worked on them during their testing phase here in the US while at Holloman. The airframe changes carried over to the block 70's. Which we should be buying alongside the EX's , instead of more F-35's . That's my opinion from a former Viper Crew Cheif perspective.
@@That_Stealth_Guy man, I mean those ex's are definitely, freaking cool but not in the same league with F35. That Fat Amy just different kind a animal! F35 doesn't fight fair with all those sensor fusion thing! Also, internal wb! I definetly like 1970 retrofitted charger, however, I need 2025 F150 raptor to job done! Ones you have air dominance in a operation/war then I can send ex's to turn there hell. I need f35 for deep strike and more! Otherwise, my favorite is all day long clean Viper! 😍 Thank you for your service guys! at the end of day we need all jets!
It's still an interesting/awesome clip. Thank you for sharing sir!💥💥💥
The bug got squashed.
Best thing about this might be the reaction posts on Hoggit 😂
I love both jets!🛫✈
Nice. What about hornet vs T38?

Yeah but it's a bit of fun 😅
I guessed the F-16 would win. Have a guess how the Super Hornet would do?
It was a legacy hornet.
@@danielh1708 My bad. I was thinking Super Hornet.
@@qcan8468 Oh, gotchya...probably wouldn't fare much better against the F-16. These 'races' really don't take aircraft weight into account.
No contest lol. Is there anything that can outrace a slick F-16?
Clean F-104???
F15 ,
Slick eurofighter or 22 maybe?
A Fully loaded F22 can be up much quicker then that F16 still. F15s clean also.
Harrier
GE110 is monster.

@That_Stealth_Guy need more 35's even newer 16's can't really compare. Thats coming from my buddy who was a 16 driver now a 35 driver.

Still, the C-130 would beat them both.
