    That poem brought back memories when I saw a video of my father flying a T-38. You don't have to be a pilot to enjoy such great poetry like High Flight.

    So awesome. Done a milder version of this in my Super Cub. We are blessed to be able to have these experiences for sure.

    During my first solo, i remember the freedom. Afterward, i logged the flight details but added a note, “The day I left earth.” Sure, maybe it sounds a little cheesy, but it felt profound. I felt like i had personally defeated gravity and could go anywhere and do anything. Freedom.

    I was always on the look out when going cross country IFR flying for some clouds like this to play in with my SR-22. Didn't get to play in the vertical like this tho

    Great video!!!
    You need a ride in a Harmon Rocket or F1 Rocket. IO-540, 300 hp, in a modified RV-4; -1’ off each wing for 21’ span, 4” wider fuse to accommodate the 540, +1’ length in fuse behind rr passenger seat, 80” CS Hartzel prop, my empty wt 1236 lbs. At sea level standard day I’ve seen 3500-3800 FPM sustained climb at Vx 78 knots, level flight max speed around 215-220 knots, roll rate approx 220-240* PS, +8 -6 neg, max I’ve pulled is 7 for around 8 seconds.
    I’ve never flown a fighter but my lead, retired USAF T-38 IP and highest time U-2 pilot in the world says the Rocket is the closest thing to a fighter. If you or Mover are ever around KEDW look me up. I’m based at KWJF. They know me in the office at Fox…

    Thanks for sharing this video! I first heard High Flight from this video of the TV signoff back in the 70s when I was 7. That white T-38 looked super cool blasting through the clouds. I wanted to learn to fly from that time forward. ua-cam.com/video/OVTj7RQhNK0/v-deo.html

    Why the FCS page on left DDI?
    What are you monitoring or is it just left as is from start up because you don’t need anything else?

  • @RedTail1-1

    Don't know why it still bothers me so much, but... Oil isn't dinosaurs... It's vegetation.. plants..
    I know it shouldn't bug me as much as it does and I know saying "burning dinosaurs" sounds cooler yet I just don't like people thinking and spreading false info.
    Still a very very cool video. My one little gripe has nothing to do with this awesome footage.

    • @Glee73
      @Glee73 18 днів тому

      you got it right.. 'burning dinosaurs' is cooler than 'burning vegetation'.

    Do you every make yourself sick? Motion sickness, I mean.

    • @RedTail1-1
      @RedTail1-1 18 днів тому

      Even if a pilot does get motion sickness, they make medicine for that.

    • @LZE.
      @LZE. 18 днів тому +1

      The person flying does not feel sick because they're preoccupied. A passenger without experience will usually suffer from motion sickness.
