Hi! My son introduce me to the Suno AI just a few days ago.
When I extend the song It seems to change the genre or the sound.
Did I do something wrong?
I fluked out and got exactly what I needed just needed to change one word in the verse, loved the genre choice and the female voice.
Unfortunately, when I try extending to make the small change it changed everything but the lyrics.
I'm a grandma looking to make little jingles to play to my grandkids with their names in the songs.

I also use suno to create and upload songs. The sound quality has improved since version 3, and instead of using suno to create all songs, I use a DAW to edit the material I download from suno and add sound effects to make the song the way I want it.
Yeah it’s a good work around and I do the same. Eventually the model will get better, it’s still very early.
Hopefully they improve this feature. Right now, it's a little unstable. Often times, the extend is completely different from the original. Sometimes, it even swaps female vocals for male ones. Or maybe we're just using it wrong.

We really only need more processing power. Because the higher the fidelity the more processing is needed. This is on Suno. And it is expensive untill we have cheap dedicated ai chips

Hey man I appreciate the support! At this time it’s still very early for things like that. One of the things you can do is just split the stems with bandlab. I've only made full songs with lyrics but thought I'd extend some of my instrumentals today but every time I click "extend" it brings up the lyrics tab and based on previous experience it will add random vocals when Lyrics is enabled but lacking words so I tried searching for INSTRUMENTAL guides to get it explained because as for now every single extended version generates new melodies rather than bringing back from previous part. Does a build like you showed [INTRO], [VERSE] etc etc work on their own in instrumental? I don't want to throw away credits if that will mess up the parts :P

Thanks for the tutorial! Tried to lengthen a song twice now.. but the voice is just a bit different. 3rd time it finally nailed one of the 2 attempts, but then it just put random pauses, skipped a few lines, then just made up stuff that wasn't even remotely in the lyrics. lol. The other attempt on the 3rd try was correct, but wrong voice. Sigh. Will try again tomorrow.
That's one of my issues right now with it, too. I feel like I'm burning through way more "credits" than I should need to use, because I have to keep regenerating song parts to get around glitches. I've had it drop a word from a verse it sings, or even "stutter", singing the first part of a word twice before singing the rest of it. Ruined a perfect take. Awesome software though. I think we need v4 with ability to generate a longer song length in one shot.

I tried this from the lyric is cut off at but it didn’t extend the song correctly. Should I set it to before that set of lyrics?
Is it possible to redo a song as I had a typo in a verse and can’t get rid of it.
Is extending the same as continuing? Is it possible to start the song fresh in the same style?
Probably a stupid question, but if I do something like you did with part 2 (cutting it before the end, having part 3 start at 00:56) and then you create the whole song, does Suno automatically cut off the remaining 4 seconds of part 2 that you didn't want in your part 3?
And another added question - when extending, it will try to mimic the "original" version, that's fine. But COULD i change the style of music for like, part 3, cause now i want some guitar in it instead of piano (for whatever reason)?
No stupid questions here! 👍I can't answer that first question confidently since I've never tried it but I can only assume it will just cut off abruptly, you still have to end it in some way with an [end], [outro] or [fade out] tag.
For your second question, you can tag instruments but I find it to be random, it doesn't always work. Check out their wiki, it's very helpful www.suno.wiki/faq/metatags/instrumental-tags/
I just don't understand how to get the "new part" longer... it's only 2 seconds longer when I use the extend feature, refusing to add any text. Tried and tried, but seem to be random.
I'm new to Suno and I'm trying to learn how to extend a song. This video looks helpful, but I'm having a problem in that I can't find "Continue From This Song" anywhere. I click on the dots, and get other options, but not that one. Do you need to have a paid subscription to get it?

This might be a very silly question as I just started using Suno but it seems that regardless of what I do, my "Extend" button is greyed out when attempting to extend a song. I attempted to change lyrics, change title, change the extend from time but nothing seemed to resolve the issue. Have you run into this? If so, would you know how to resolve it?
I struggle with extending. I'll do like you say and extend from the time it cuts off and with the lyrics that it restarts from. But often it just goes on a random vocal journey that isn't what I put in the lyrics box.
I love making this music though.
When I am finished stitching the musical pieces together and the song is completed, what will appear in the lyric display later will be my final working lyrics. Like you, I use part-verses
to get the right fit. But the lyric display on the dashboard shows the lyrics in dismay. I want to edit those lyrics but they seem impossible to get at. Any ideas?
Yeah unfortunately there is no way to edit the lyrics after. I hope they change this in a future update. I get the same thing.

Yes but it’s not always going to work. It’s still sort of random but tags are there to help steer the song. Try [saxophone verse] or chorus or whatever tag you are using. I’ve tested this out extensively and it can work but sometimes you’ll get random instruments. And you’re very welcome!
I would like to inquire in I pressed the 3-dot button and my program doesn't have a Continue From This Clip. Is it because I used something free? Or do I have to pay for Pro and Premier. ? Or do I have to go to some settings first?

i have another question so i understand that you cant use songs for commercial use if you made them under the free subscription, i was wondering if you extend thoese songs/ make them to full song's as a paid member would that make it a new song to where can use them for commercial use?
I'd ask their support but I suspect if you decide to subscribe then you can use them commercially, best to check with them.
Mine won't do it. The "continue" button to actually start generating it is greyed out, and won't let me extend the song.

Not that I’m aware of, are you on the free or paid account? Free is limited to 50 credits/day. Paid you should be able to generate as much as you want based on your subscription tier.

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way, either you get the intro on your first clip or bust. Which is a drag because in Udio you can add the intro at any time. I hope they make this possible too in a future update.

You have to enter something in the lyrics box, either generate lyrics, insert your own, or instrumental tags.
My qustion is. I use free account on Suno. It only allowed me 2 minutes long of my song. While my song duration need about 3:15

Is there a way to edit the lyrics already used?

With extending the chorus, I've had better results with just leaving the marker at 1:00, and putting the full chorus in the lyrics with the [Chorus] tag. It will figure it out for itself where it left off. If I try to set the timer to a certain spot with no vocals, and remove part of the lyrics up to the part it stopped at, sometimes it works ok, but other times the vocals are different and don't match the how earlier choruses in the song sounded.
Whatever works for you my friend, at the moment it is so random that I always tell people when you get a good generation go with it! It's still so very early and I think too many people expect perfection when the tech is still very new. Regardless, it still amazes me that we can get this level of AI music just from text!

@@MonzonMedia If they would just extend the generation longer than 2 minutes it would solve all these problems. Most songs are not 2 minutes. Stitching is tedious and time consuming. I'd rather have only 10 credits if I could get a full 4-5 minute song. No way I'm paying for a subscription for 2 minute generation if I have to burn through credits just stitching and praying the vocals and rhythm match up. Also, the AI tries to rush the lyrics through in under 2 minutes. That defeats the purpose of stitching, and stitching defeats the purpose of rushing the lyrics. They should chose one or the other. Hopefully next version resolves this. Lastly, how do you upload a thumbnail image to your song? I can't find out how anywhere. Please help.
If I make Parts 1 2 3, each lasts 1 minute
then the full song will be 3 minutes long or still 2 minutes long?
3min, just in 1min increments when extending.

Not at this time my man, it's still very early for things like that. You could make backing/instrumental tracks and just mix the vocals in a DAW as an option.

Everytime I extend my song, it changes the music and vocals...doesnt match up well at all. Any ideas?
Could be a lot of reasons, how it's structured, tags you are using. Sometimes it takes a few tries but it hasn't been too difficult for me to get consistent results.

I just purchased a subscription and i do not see the option to create a whole song or extend it to a whole song.
To extend it's now changed from "continue from this song" to "extend". Once the clip is generated fully, there should be an extend button beside the like and dislike buttons. If your song is only one audio clip you just have to download it but if you extend it, then the option to download the whole song will be in the 3 dots to download.
@@MonzonMedia Thank you. There is one song i tried to extend, but it would always show a song i hated on the right side and above the one I was trying to extend and it would extend that one. I was so frustrated. Couldn't figure out how to stop it from doing that. Even when i had the correct song highlighted.

@@MonzonMedia That's the problem with ai generation today in terms of editing media with ai. You seem to be only able to edit ai generated material.
I can't understand why...there must be a procedure/algorithm to turn/generate any uploaded file into editable media.
This new option Extend does not allow to continue with the old song. Does someone know a solution because for now the app is just useless.

Hello. I use suno today and there is no options continue from this song and get whole song.
They changed it to "extend" a couple days I did this video but it works the same way. To get the whole song, you need more than one part, otherwise you just download it directly.
but reslut is whats trained in and they sound same. you can sell your music, bcoz someone allready made it
I'm doing a chargeback because it doesn't extend songs at all. It just makes entire new 1 minute songs.

Making the song longer is really annoying. Sometimes he puts out a good song and then it gets cut off at the end. It becomes impossible to capture and extend the same again. and we are constantly losing credit. I think the system is set to eat credits.
I agree it can be frustrating at times but keep in mind, this is still very new and we've seen 3 revisions already in a short span of time. There is so much room for improvement but still impressive nonetheless considering it's been maybe only a year or less when this was released. It will take some time to get to a point where it's consistent and easier.

Yeah it’s not there yet but the progress is encouraging. Keep in mind it’s still very early. Text to image has come so far in just a couple years. I expect the same with Ai music.
for me the one thing i hate about suno "do not get me wrong i love this AI" but you are the first person that has said about the continue is only 1 min.. so annoying would rather a full 2 mins.. this wastes so many tokens.. also part 2 seams to go random and do its own mix of the tune.. i would advice people also to check out the suno wiki for extra tips and hints.. this software improves all the time.. though some nights it feels like its been out for the night for a drink.. though they can be interesting also
Hey no worries I get it, the reality is to get a good decent song, it will take quite a few tokens. With that being said, it's expected with AI in general, it's the same with video, extending it is still very immature and requires more training to get consistency and length. Funny you mention the wiki, I just recorded a video today using it as a reference, just need to edit it and publish. It also gives a lot of insight in what actually works but they do state that it is all very random.

I'd 100% subscribe to Suno if they canned the 2 minute limit, and let us just set a song length. This 2 minute/1m extention is terrible, and hardly ever matches the previous section. I know they are trying to make money, but surely they'd make more if more people enjoyed using it. It's also a pity because it just doesn't finish showing off the capabilities of AI when it's a mishmash of different segments. I will wait for a different AI Music clone to pop up that has no silly restrictions.
With Suno I don't find a way to extend before (like creating an intro), while wih udio is pretty easy
This video is terrible confusing and jumping from one step. The most important part was the full song and he powered through but spent time on the music theory. Had to replay over because it doesn’t even show the same thing on my Suno ai
If you look at the pinned comment I mention they made changes to “continue from this song” to extend probably 2 days after this video. This video was also meant to help people understand how Suno works and that you can’t get a full song with one shot because of the 2min limitation. Unless you want a short song.
