- Hey guys, this is a bit rough but needed to get something out there for the first batch of caliper adapters to tun ktm65 front calipers or the full kit for Cake Kalk on a surron. Ive sent out the first few and just wanted to get a basic video of how to install and I have had a few people with questions when running into issues so wanted to show the techniques for getting a little extra clearance from the spokes.

Very good to know, I bought complete brake system (front and rear) for KTM 85 but was only using the front (after switching whole frontend). I wondered if I could make use of the rear too with adapter especially since I saw how weak stock rear brakes are in comparison. Also wondered if there would be any chance stock rear wheel could be replaced with KTM freeride one for instance. Maybe not with stock swingarm on Surron but Talaria might fit. I guess it would require at least rear axle and sprocket adjustments. Liking dogs support in the back ;)
I doubt you can get any rear wheel to fit. I measured a 65 rear wheel and it's about 15mm wider, any bigger bikes will be even bigger. The surron is just so small. Dogs are always there with support in the shop 😆
@@mrskywalker115 ahah so funny I wish I had one in the garage too 🤗. Yes with original swingarm on Surron it is too tight, but on Talaria there is more space, I could manage to fit a 100x90 tire but had to dish the wheel a bit to avoid touching chain.
Hey man this is somewhat late but my brake caliper pads rub along my rotor. And my caliper bracket is as close as it can get without touching the rotor. I feel it’s cause my pads when I pull them in kinda come off the piston but they still hit but rubs and makes a squeaky sound not bad just annoying how can I fix it’s only the right ride pad that rubs there brand new too
Had a question as I'm also thinking of installing rear brake on my ebike. I have noticed brakes were on opposite side of the wheel on KTM,, how did you manage to install, did you reverse side? Also you confirm we can use clutch master cylinder installed on left side and it should work?
EDIT: Just noticed you said you used front caliper to install on the rear right? which would explain why had the brake hose line on the good side.
Yea it is from the front. That said I did do one using a rear brake but the bracket looks pretty goofy as the mount is toward the rear rather than like these where its on both sides or front like the rear does on the right side. I think I showed my rear brake on my prolog video
@@mrskywalker115 ah ok thanks I'll have a look. I have a spare brembo coming from 125 sx, I think it can fit using different mount adapter but the brake hose is oriented toward the back. Not sure if I sell it and take another front brake instead, or use the same Brembo P32 rear caliper that GritShift is using.
Would you be able to send a rear one for me to try out or I would have to buy one ?
