Battlefleet Gothic: Armada will release April 21st
Battlefeet Gothic: Armada, the space real time strategy game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe disembarks tomorrow on PC. We are today unveiling its Launch Trailer that is as spectacular in content as it is in realisation. Hang on to a diabolical flying-cam that will bring you from one intense action to another - the likes of which you have rarely seen. Plunge into a vertiginous sequence-shot, straight to the heart of massive and intense battle between the warships of the Imperial Navy, and the Chaos fleet that have come to Port Maw to wipe out the Imperium’s void base from the star map.
During this incredible two-minute-long sequence-shot, you will find yourself witnessing brutal broadsides from macro-cannons of Imperial battleships, who are cornered by the Chaos armada that pound them with raking fire and boarding actions. Follow the manoeuvres of attack craft as they dance between gigantic Chaos ships being shaken by the violent ramming of Imperial cruisers...
As the Planet Killer of Warmaster Abaddon completes its devastating assault, the moment of victory lies within the grasp of Chaos. The Imperial Navy though will not yield at the last, and summons reinforcements and support from their allies - the angels of death, the Space Marines, whose a few ships are unveiled for the first time in this video.
We remind you that Space Marines, as well as an additional faction that will be unveiled later, will be offered to all the Early Adopters of the game. The Early Adopters offer stands for all the players who pre-ordered the game, or will buy it until two months after release.

+anaturn12 For the golden throne! Also, having giant cathedrals on their ships probably helps keeping the crew in line when they are traveling for months or even years through the warp surrounded by deamons.
And of course I would imagine, on board of a starship, the techpriests would need a lot of room to conduct their rituals for the machine spirit and so on.

anaturn12 well, I mean... it might not *seem* very practical but... the imperium did survive thousands of years like this. They did not become living metal like necrons, they are not collapsed like the eldar, they are more civilized than orcs and are not corrupted by chaos... compared to everybody else in the galaxy, they'd always argue that their ways work best and considering their position in the galaxy right now...they kinda have a good point there.

This treiler is perfect for a number of reasons:
-It represents VERY well how the game works/feels
-It basically shows a cinematic round of the game with no lies attatched to it
-Music, speeches and sound effects are timed just right
-It's glorious as f*ck

Ilove it too, it gave me chills, but, to be fair, the great "lie" about this is that ships are shown on different positions in the Y axis, when in reality every ship is always on the same spot, and, of course, they can only manouver on X and Z, (as if they were on a flat surface).

It's in no shape or form represents how the game is played out. It is however glorious af and the voice acting in this game is top notch, and that is more then enough for me.

That captain was commanding an Emperor class battleship, the practicaly irreplacaple vessle crewed by hundreds of thousands was overruned by chaos around a minute after the battle started.

Cheap, full of pathos, cheesy in places... and oh so glorious! Exactly what 40k should be! Kudos to you guys, you really tried hard on this game. The graphical detail, the voice-over, the music, the whole package reeks of the grim darkness of the far future. Considering the amount of underwhelming GW licensed games in the last year, this really sets the bar high. The studio tried their damnedest to deliver an enjoyable Gothic experience and based on the beta they succeeded. I salute you!
They did do a good job! Actually I got interested in it as a Naval RTS game. I was not disappointed, the quality of it all should be commended. It got me interested in Warhammer the other being "If the Emperor had a Text to Speech Device.
I see a lot of metal bawkses. Also, this is definitely how you properly take advantage of the 40k license!

What I love MOST about the Warhammer 40k Universe, is how EVERY fan comes away with a faction to promote and love.

I think this might be the best 40k game trailer. It is certainly my favorite. The Imperium and humanity might die, but we are taking them with us.

The trailer of the mortal Imperial Navy always pumps me up and it's the best naval trailer out of every Wh40k factions.

+whzpoor If I am not mistaken there was an interview with the developers that stated that, in some battles, you will be able to join forces with allies, either AI in the campaign or 2v2 in multiplayer, or both. In any case...that will be pretty big already!
A sequel is coming, and it has been made to allow for stuff like that.

Good ol' 40k. It's a nice take on how easily zealotry can take root and override our reason to the point of martyrdom. Admittedly, having the forces of hell itself as your adversary makes the propaganda come easy.

Yep, they are working on them, and they will propably be as NPC faction in campaign, but still, it was a last line of the trailer, it would sound like trailer for astartes game, which battlefleet is certainly not

PrimeSniper7 It is is you want to be a member of an international community. English it is taught in all developed countries. Unless you're an ignorant or you lived in Soviet Russia for most of your live you should know at least the basics of it.

I just realised that there isnt actually any space for torpedoes behind those torpedo tube openings...
~shrugs~ on many modern sub the tubed are angled outward to clear the now bow mounted sonar while keeping the loading within the pressure hull. Dont see why a similar solution wouldnt be possible in space(though that would imply torpedoes have some rudimentary guidance system...)
