Love these informative videos that give a bit of the history of a watch. Lovely looking Daytona Oscar, although was surprised Rolex still used the riveted bracelets as late as 1985. Was the steel variant riveted as well or folded steel links? Was this reference also one of the last Daytonas to have the seconds at 9?
You nearly stumped us all on this one Andrew!! The gold bracelet for the 6265 was riveted 7205. Steel had various types during its lifetime, both rivet and folded. You have to remember that at the time these were unpopular and forgotten references, particularly in gold, so weren’t refreshed or updated as soon as new bracelets etc arrived on the scene. They were a dying line so old stock parts were used. No, it wasn’t the last reference - the Zenith Daytona 16250 had seconds at nine and was in production til 2000.
@@officialwatches1 like to give you a challenge 😂 that makes sense that Rolex would use older parts if it wasn’t popular. Crazy to think that nobody wanted a Daytona in the mid 80’s and they gave them away free with other models. Didn’t realise the Zenith was in production for that long. Mind you 2000 doesn’t feel like 24 years ago.
Thank you so much!! Hopefully you will enjoy the other videos got lots of modern pieces 🫡🎉🤝 massively appreciate you taking part means the world to me THANK YOU 🔥
