- The plaintiff says she met the defendant on a dating app and loaned him money. Now that they’ve broken up, she says he’s ignoring her, so she’s suing him for repayment. The defendant claims his ex showered him with gifts and says he owes her nothing. He’s countersuing for emotional distress and lost wages.

She comes off as a stalker. Even the judge had to tell her to leave him alone and that she's only suing bc she got dumped and called her an "angsty drama filled woman". Plaintiff looks crazy as hell trying to buy herself some affection...smh...😬
Not really. Desperate for a relationship and naive yes, but she's not really giving me stalker/ drama vibes. He's the one with the drama, kept harping on and on about his sick father to try and gain sympathy. He was able to get it from the judge but not from me. I'm sure he didn't have his life together before his father got sick and is only using it as an excuse which is sick.

being desperate is one thing and she was, but she was trying to use the money to control him from the getgo. Yeah, he could not have mentioned his money issues, but it makes sense as he's a roofer to mention in a relationship "I make more money in the summer than in winter because of my job" which I've known similar, working in moving and storage. There's a winter lull and then you make a lot more in the summer. It's like saying "I can't afford things yet, but I will be"

I don't think she had any reasonable expectation of being payed back in the near future & only went after him to have further contact with him. Ladies, ladies--NEVER GIVE A MAN YOU ARE DATING MONEY. in a relationship the man must be at least the sole supporter of himself. That alone- a man without income is a reason to walk away. The only control you have is over yourself. Two people get together to form a partnership. If one partner is putting in more ( money, time, energy,,etc) that relationship is highly likely to fail. What did you see in him?……what did he have to offer? My 1st husband was a taker but he always had a job. My second husband is a partner in every sense of the word. After 42 yrs it becomes easier to see that 2 people in a relationship must be partners 100% involvement for each. You cannot build an empire if both don’t work

I have, but I've never given it to get something out of it. I gave it with no expectation of getting it back. There's a few homeless veterans around where I live that we've gotten gift cards at the restaurants they frequent. I've also helped my now husband of 14 years with his child support payments. His ex-wife harassed him constantly if child support wasn't paid on the 1st of each month. She didn't care that he didn't get paid until the 3rd, she wanted it on the 1st. I was in the military at the time and got paid on the 1st of each month. I would give him the money just so she would stop harassing him and he would pay me back when he got paid. I even wrote checks to cover while I was deployed, not requiring repayment. Boy did she hate getting them, but at least my man wasn't being harassed because it wasn't paid when she thought it needed to be paid. I watched a few different times where she would make drop off/pick up miserable by bringing it up right in front of his daughter and myself. She didn't care. No child needs to deal with that crap!

You can tell he wants absolutely nothing to do with her, the way he quickly walked out. As the judge said she was trying to own him. Imagine your dad being ill and having this bitter miserable woman carrying on and acting crazy. He was smart enough to end it and dodged a bullet.
The speed at which her kindness rotted to cruelty speaks volumes of her character. The effervescence of her smile and laughter in direct opposition to the incredible stress and pre-emptive grief he must be experiencing shrieks like a banshee of her (potential) sociopathy.
Taking him to court while his father is dying in the hospital is a low thing to do. Very premature. What a nasty woman. Calling that many times is a red flag and he should count himself lucky to be rid of her so soon and owing that amount instead of THOUSANDS of dollars it could have been if he stayed with her longer.
Let's back up. You meet a guy (or girl) and they say, "i'm out of work...not working...." you say, "GOODBYE"!

In general, when anyone starts dating DO NOT lend them money, DO NOT add them to your cell phone plan, and DO NOT co-sign a loan for a car because when you break up they will be considered a gift unless you make them sign a promissory note or tape him/her accepting the gifts and the explanation behind them.

Exactly. When TPC contacts litigants who have a pending case in their local court, both parties have to agree to dismiss their local claim. If he didn't want to leave his dying father's side, he didn't HAVE to, so, in my eyes, he looks like an even bigger moocher. I mean, he tried to PROFIT off of *his choice* to leave by suing for lost wages & distress!🤦♀️

I hope the plaintiff reads this. If the service is in your name, you can call the phone company or maybe even go online to get a temporary seasonal suspension of phone service. You'll still have to pay for the phone, but the usage fee will go down to about $15/mo. and the phone won't be able to make or receive calls. Just a suggestion.
