This is a highly documented two owner car fresh out of a 52 year ownership! The car is powered by the correct 428ci Super Cobra Jet V8 paired with a four-speed close-ratio transmission and is finished in red over black vinyl upholstery. Features include the Drag Pack option, a 3.91:1 Traction-Lok rear axle, a Shaker hood, black-out hood treatment, integrated fog lights, power-assisted steering, power front disc brakes, 15" Mag 500 wheels wrapped in BFG Goodrich Radial TA's! It really is the ultimate package!
The car left the factory finished in Candyapple Red (T5) and underwent a 4 year documented rotisserie restoration bringing it back to its former glory. Features include a Shaker hood, a rear spoiler, black-out hood treatment, Mach 1 side and rear stripes, quarter-panel scoops, color-keyed mirrors, reverse lights, and a dual exhaust that exits below the rear valance. Super Cobra Jet Specific features include an auxiliary oil cooler, SCJ specific heads, forged crank, intake manifold, and it still retains its original carburetor!
The cabin features front bucket seats and a folding Sport Deck rear seat upholstered in black vinyl with channeled inserts joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Features include faux woodgrain accents, a center console, a heater and defroster, polished door sills, and Mach 1 floor mats. The rim-blow steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, and coolant temperature.
A friend of my brother had one in HS. My brother a couple years older and I missed the bus one day and were walking to school and he drives by on his way to school and picks us up and gives us a ride. Even back then I was checking out how bad ass it was and this was the early 70s.
Beautiful vehicle. My parents bought one back in the day and it got stolen the very next day.

Oh golly, at 6:27 when he cranks that beast up, the sound gave me goosebumps. Now that is HP waiting to be unleashed! For us baby boomers that grew up in the 60’s and 70’s that is a symphonic sound!

I had a 68 Cougar with a 428 in it.I pulled it and put it in a 69 Mustang square back. I dragged it a summer and left it at my mom's for a bunch of years.sold her cheap😂it was a 68 fe block Eliminator engine the guy found out.them years back early 80's❤
1969 Mach 1 with the 428 cobra jet in red might be worth the left one as well as long as the right ones functioning normally .

They couldnt give these cars away in the mid 70s my uncle traded a chevy monza for this exact same car in 78' straight up. I loved that car.

Looks very nice. Too bad they put the pin stripe that goes around the blacked out area of the hood in the wrong location. It is supposed to be maybe 3/8" (?) from the blacked out area.
I know where there is one of these cars resides hasn't been licensed since 85
what rear differential did this car have 3:90 or 430 ?? was there a marty report for it I would love to see it I have one that needs restored that is the mirror image of this one . Mine has 4:30 rear traction lock drag pack minus the spoilers

Hood pins are cool, but i wouldnt want them. If you are doing 120 mph the cables go everywhere

Power steering must have been added by the owners.
Or power assisted brake and the pin striping is wrong on the bonnet
have identical car minus spolers, 428scj,close ratio 4 speed ,4:30 traction lock rear, drag pack currently no power steering recently second owner that bought in 74 parked in 77 told me he had removed the power steering . I have not sent for marti report yet .
also mine has power disc brakes - they did. not come with a/c in the drag pack format
