I've searched for THE 1970 Mach 1 mustang my parents went on their first date in for almost 15 years. We had the paint restored back to the original colors and surprised my parents with it on Christmas day of 2019.
Make sure to watch the backstory where we find and restore this car for them here: • The Backstory - surpri...

In 30 to 40 years when my children do this, they'll have to get a restored 2004 Toyota Corolla SE...lmao
haha
Mine will be a 2005 Honda Civic EX. :X
a corolla wont need restoring
Hmm maybe I should start renting Ferrari's for first dates lol
Mine would be a 2004 v6 mustang 😂
Dad went straight for the motor. Now THAT's old school.
You can tell this car wasn't just some showcase pimp drive for him. It meant something to him and he remembers everything about it down to the engine bay. That's why he went straight for the hood and that's why he's old school. Guys back in the day weren't showing off, they truly knew everything about the car they drove.
Coxy Normus you know there are more people than ever building cars today right? ‘New’ school is putting more than a Holley double barrel carb and some mufflers on your car and calling it a “build”.
L
@@Raining345 Right!
Proper car guy
You know dad is a car guy opening the hood first.
Jonny15227 interior comes second
I must not be much of a "car guy" then, since the engine would the last place I would look.
oldies geek bruh
I
Commented that like one second ago how u already liked it lmfao
@@HT00798 I was sitting on the pot and a notification popped up
The first thing dad does is popped the hood. 😂 A man after my own heart!! Congrats!!
That’s everything you need to know about my dad
It's the first thing I would do too. Lol
Haha that made me laugh to.
When my kids show me a car, that's the first thing I check. They check to see if there's an aux port.
He opened the hood like he did it last time yesterday)))
*Son:* Does it remind you of your old car?
*Dad:* Well, you forgot the nitrous bottle in the back seat.
Probably the weed also.
Colby Carroll i was going to say the exact same thing
@@smurphy2146 wow you're cool, you must have lots of friends 😐
it´s not the movies lol A) mach 1 with nitrous bottles are pointless, the muscle cars were too heavy for that, and B) muscle car are not very comfortable to steer, not easy like other cars. None of these cars had power steering back then, with nitrous in such a heavy car you´d lose control easily.
@@JohnJohn-qv4mg man you know nothing about classic muscle
This makes me hate people who say cars are just for point A to point B
You hate people because they don't think cars are used for anything but their main purpose?
Fosty i hope you don’t think i really hate people, I just don’t like to remember their is people out there that just don’t see how a car has character and memories that one builds.
@@CHEVYCAMARO4GEN That's a better way of saying it.
I have met more then one person, male and female who think cars are just for transportation. They unfortunately have never had the experience of having a hot rod or sports car that you have spent blood sweat and tears in building and enjoying.
@@gumballer133 That goes for almost anything though. You might think a computer is just for doing work, or a gun is just for hunting, or a garden is just empty space outside your house.
Not everyone will discover a passion with everything.
Checking engine first - I see you are a man of culture.
This truly proves how cars are just more than ton and a half of glass, rubber, wires and metal. We all have this unshakable feeling that they have souls and for better or worst we are thankful for all the memories we had with them..
i've become attached to my vehicles, i got myself a Charger not that long ago, had to get rid of my truck, i cried over that truck, i'm gonna cry when i have to get rid of my charger one day
@Austin King maybe but if i was given a choice between your life or saving my car. its gonna be my car without a second thought
@Austin King If you read his whole comment, he's got a wife and kids. Maybe if you put more braincells into reading comprehension instead of being an obnoxious jackass people would like you
I shed a tear the day I sold my custom '79 Ford F100 stepside in 1985. 36 years later I still miss that pickup and have had dreams where I owned it again. Waking up after those dreams always sucks. But lotta great memories of cruisin' downtown Toronto on weekends in the summer of '84.
Nah they are just that. You did read how its not even their original car right?
all the emotions is cute but can we talk about how fireee this joint is. damn.
You're high?

Father: "hon, check out the back seat. You remember when..."
Children: "NOOOO! Stop right there, Dad!!"
Great effort. Respect. Cars from the Past are way more beautiful than today's cars. It had soul. Now is just lifeless.
I 100% agree. I love all cars, musclecars, trucks, exotics - everything. But the 1970 Mustang is one of the most beautiful, IMO.
@@LottsOfVintage Yes Mustangs are real beaute no doubt about it.. My personal fav is 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. Sleek and muscular.
Loved the 70 Mustang but for me the 1969 Boss 302 yellow with black stripes. Its my poster car/ dream car for me since I was 12.
I've always been partial to the 1972 Chevy Nova. I just love how compact it is for a "muscle car" and would really enjoy putting something like 350WHP in it. lol
Well that's mostly because today's cars are built for safety and aerodynamics. The cars of back then would have a very difficult time meeting today's standards
If my daughter sees this..... Red 1969 for mine.
Jorge Gomez 2012 Buick regal was my first car. Still kickass cars; lost it in a tornado and now i drive the 2014 model premium 1. I love the regal way to much.
I'm kinda had my eyes on that cute puppy just chilling
Chewy was trying to steal the show FOR SURE.
That puppy is too cute
Lmao I have the same breed I think, its a golden doodle. Im not 100% sure but GOLDEN DOODLES ARE ADORABLEEEEEEE
same
i had my eyes on that mustang in the background
The guy pulling the sheet had one job 😂😂
If you think I hated front license plates before this, imagine how much I hate them now!
@@LottsOfVintage LOL! Sounds legit! I just stumbled upon this channel...I hope all of you experience such an awesome thing, in you later years! Just beautiful!
4:54 you really did that to us? Really cut out the startup
In hindsight, could have done it without the music...
It probably didn’t start up right away lol
@John Thomas you can always here an old v8 in startup, thats the point of this comment
@John Thomas of course, you're one of those types of weirdos
@John Thomas people like you make me sick
i love how he opens the hood like he was just working on it a few hours ago

I sold my 1970 GSX (car #125) to pay for my mothers nursing home care, I owned it almost 30 years. Someday....
My first handful of cars were 70-72 Buick GSs. Always one of my favorite musclecars. Never owned a real GSX, but hope to someday. Humbled to hear you did what was right for your mother - family first!

Mom's comfort and care in her final days was much more important, car was in Minnesota in 2007...

Kudos to the kids to pull this off for the parents, it shows lots of love for them both ! ❤️
Your mother had her emotions all on the outside... but your father went straight to pop the hood. :D
This was hearthwarming to see.
Congrats, you raised some amazing children.
Dad is a real muscle car guy ! 1st ge does is pop the hood to see the V8 !
you don't have to be a muscle car guy to pop the hood. You just have to be a car guy.
I’ve been looking for recent videos of this car n I barely find anything until this !!!! I have a 70 Mach 1 w 351 . Soon to restore since it’s been passed down . All matchjng
niceeee
Please record some of the restoration process
imagine still having your parents together, cause i cant
Expecting a restored skyline gtr 2001 in my 60’s
Or else😡
I can expect a 1998 Toyota Supra
That's not just a Simple Gift you gave them. You gave your Parents a BIG n SWEET Part of their History Back to them!
Its amazing how a classic vehicle can run so deep with people/family. Amazing gift.. Much respect..
2:03 WHAT DID YOU DO
Me: THEY BOUGHT YOU A CAR
Hahahaha love it!
Would have been funny if she followed up with: 'we spent years trying to get rid of that thing.'
Great story, great job, I’m impressed how you kept it quiet was a chore I’m sure.our first date was a 64 chevelle , We wrecked it it in 71 and we’re in the hospital together different rooms we weren’t married yet. But it just proves that your idea was correct It meant more to them than most people would understand ! You’re a good man !
Thank you. Life has been so crazy with endless chaos with just everything festering in this world!!
Thanks again for giving me 5 minutes of pleasure. You are good children and were raised right!!
“A driver don’t pick the car, the car picks the driver. Its a mystical bond between man and machine.”- Uncle Bobby from transformers.
The mom especially remembers the memories in that vehicle 😂😂
This is amazing, actually got me a lil emotional, so nice to see they can experience that car again.
Dads obviously knows his way around that car. It all came back to him instantly.
It's amazing how we connect with objects in such a way. May your parents enjoy many mornings and nights of cruising reliving their years together.
Man I want to do this for my dad, he just bought me a 1968 California special mustang and someday I wish to return him a favor.
My older brother had a 1968 California Special 4 speed car as his first car in the early 70’s. My first car was a 1970 Mach 1 almost identical to the car in this video.
@@danmyers9372 Love it. a 4 speed California Special would be a great car too.
This is one of the coolest surprises I have seen on UA-cam. I wish I could do this someday for my parents! Well done, guys!
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
You are the best of mankind...to give back so unselfishly.....your parents are instantly 40 years younger or maybe more...good on you kind folks.
Got at little teary eyed watching moms reaction. Beautiful car, very well done.
Dude straight pops the hood to assure it is legit
Nice to see such a loving family.
Yes. Beautiful family.
I know nothing about cars. Never had one, but i do have my mother still with me. Dad passed away 20 years ago. Your videos really touched me brother.. For this reason i am subscribing to your channel. Thanks for sharing this priceless moment with us.
MoMa is very happy, you can hear it in her voice - well done for making their day.
Dad's a cool dude, immediately walks over and pops the hood! Man knows what to look for!
The great advantage of a warm, dry climate! Any of the cars from my youth in the UK will long since have turned to rust with our weather and winter salt.
Good comment. When I traveled to Mississippi, old cars were rust free. What a surprise.
Most people think cars are just a vehicle to get from a to b but for car people, they are just as part of the family as a pet animal. Cars are a time capsule of a time in your life and the journeys and memories you made with it.
Golly that car is just pure magic! What an awesome gesture of love.
Awesome video, my dad used to have a 1970 Mach 1 Grabber Blue, he sold it because he needed money for some things. Today after almost 10 years of selling it we bought a 1970 mach 1, it’s just the body, but the vin number says it’s a mach 1! Maybe in 2 years it will be done and left as new!❤️
Love it! Would love to see some videos of your new Mach 1 - very cool to have one back in the family, and grabber blue is a great color.
We made a instagram for the project @Mach1_1970
I bet that son is a Engineer.. :D He went into technicalities straight away :D no place for feelings and emotions :D
Beautiful, All of It.. 😢 Made Me Cry.. Best Gift For The Parents, Takes Alot Of 💕 And Y'all Have It !
What an awesome gift to give your parents!
Very cool! I just finished restoring the Mustang I was driving the day I met my wife. Sold it 12 years ago but found it again. 👍
Wow!
my kids will be cussing trying to restore my FJ40
Awesome! The best Christmas gift for you parents. Great kids.
Great job guys when you can give your parents a surprise like that that’s priceless because you take them back to a time when their hair wasn’t gray their bones didn’t ache my hats off to you guys
Thank you so much, George!
I love how their son is so insistent with the specs of the car, he's like "please take notice of everything, we didn't restore only what you can see"
Well, son's not gotten much attention or thanks or sth...
after spending over two weeks restoring the HVAC system alone on a C3 Vette that's relatable. It took tons of time just to get the system to operate correctly under vacuum lol
You know, I met my wife in a Ford Festiva. I just don’t seem to want that car back.... lol
What a wonderful present! Congratulations on a job well done!
Looks like there will be more Mach 1 memories ahead.
This is the car that got me 'into' cars. And the same year I was born. Very Cool. Congratulations. That is an extremely thoughtful gift.
My son is gonna do this with a 2015 Scion FR-S lol
See you guys in about 8 years when this will show up in your recommendations.
See you man
My first car in 1976 was a 70 Mach 1 in that same green exterior and interior. It was a 351C 2bl so it had the fake hood scoop, not a shaker. It had those same styled steel wheels, which were cool. Thanks for the memories. Best looking Mustang Ford ever made.
Dad forgot about his aches and pains as soon as he saw the car. What a thoughtful family. Full marks, BRAVO!!!
Thank you!
When it comes to gift giving to my parents I’m more of a carD guy
Dude, it’s 2020.
Use landscape.
Very awesome! I remember the pictures of that car from when we were kids.
Truly the prodigal son ! In my comments on the last video I stated the My Life channel car has manual
brakes where in fact they were power disc ! My bad. I knew in my early years of 2 Mustangs I had
the pleasure to chum around with. Both were GT's a 67 with a 351 t10 and a 68 with a 390 auto. But
it was the Mach 1 that always fired my imagination. Eat your heart out Steve McQueen. Nice touch
for a Mum & Dad ! Well done. Cheers.
This is why “It’s just a car” people annoy me
People that act like I'm supposed to share their interests out of entitlement annoy me :D It's just a machine used for transportation.
Emily Eulitt you don’t have to like cars to not judge people who do, nobody asked you to share the interest you just felt like you needed to voice the boring opinion
Why on earth would you play music over the sound of an Alfa Romeo engine?
Good grief!
Top of the DAY CHAMP. So very NICE to HEAR ACTS OF KINDNESS !!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING.
Looks & sounds fantastic!
Cars of the past are so much nicer in style than cars of today. So are many things, music, clothes, fashion, people. Nice gift for your parents. They seem like really nice folks.
Moderns muscle cars will never have the sound of the originals have like this muscled up pony. Absolutely stunning. I was lucky enough to grow up with my dads 59 corvette and my sisters 70 corvette.
Those are great cars!
Mustang Always brings happiness to people
Tho is awesome. Isn't it great how a single car can capture such great memories and bring a family back in time. Great video.
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
This made me genuinely happy. Your parents are lucky to have a son like you !
Means they were really good parents
That's a beauty! I had the '69 428SCJ version (in the dark grabber green) of this car and I loved it! This one's a beauty, enjoy it in good health!
That vehicle is a thing of beauty!
What a beautiful gift to I'm sure 2 beautiful people.....very nice great job.
Dad knew exactly how to operate those twist locks, he had one before, alright!! Awsome.
This is great. Car sounds awesome, too!
Absolutely amazing man, these mach 1s and the mustang fastback are my favorite, awesome build Thanks for sharing with us
Man this car gives me so much memories. Never owned it but I do have a friend that let me take it for a spin. This car is beyond any other vehicle I have ever driven. Drive shaft was unbelievably expensive and had to let go of his project car for over 12yrs. 😩
Absolutely stunning colour. My favourite green.
Who would thumb down this video? unbelievable , nice family story! God bless the family!
Thats really neat . Congrats on that ..just awesome
Love stories like this. Nicely done....
Totally awesome give-back.
That's one of the most awesome videos I've ever seen! Good on you.
Awesome you did this for your parents I have a 1971 Mach 1 with the 351 Cleveland too..I love this Mustang era Mach 1 and it was made the year I was born.. one very expensive Christmas present! :)
What a badass car and even more badass kids you got sir.
Gorgeous car! It all begins with great parenting!
Absolutely incredible! Makes me want to keep my car forever, I’ve had so many “firsts” in it
Care to elaborate ?
My family is far too dysfunctional to ever do something like this....BUT, I raised my kids alone, and they let me know everyday how much I mean to them, and so do my grandkids. Nice video!!
You're great kids! God bless and keep ya!
What a great surprise! I loved the video.
I was watching all the surprise car gift videos and I enjoyed them. However, I began to feel like it put too much emphasis on buying things when really love doesn't cost anything at all. Something about this one this and the significance of the car to them makes it very special and you should be very proud.
My brother and sister who are in the video are have driven mustangs all of their life as well - all because of this Mach, that started the family! They have talked about this car since we were all born - so nice to have it in the family.
I’ve always said it by being a good parent you raise great children
16 months ! Dude you're awesome...
