10 yrs working solely on ice machines and ive NEVER come across a fan cycle switch that caught in fire. Plenty of mani fcs's intermittently failing open. nice find. now ill probably see one next week
Great video. Thank you for sharing. Have a nice weekend. May I ask ? How to know which one is Fans cycle switch , High pressure switch, low pressure switch ? How to identify them . I kinda confusing on those one.
Looking at the markings on the switch is a good way to know which switch is what. There are usually pressure ratings on the switch. 450 psi being high pressure cut out, 250-300 being fan cycle and 15-35 being low pressure. You could also trace the wires to figure out where it runs and then reference the wiring diagram. Wires going to the condenser fan would be a fan cycle switch. The hard part is that each machine is slightly different. Wiring diagrams help. Parts breakdown is also a good help. Hope this was useful. Hope you have a great weekend.
@I say that all the time. I forget which store I’m at. I do PMs on Dutch bros in San Antonio and it’s really funny seeing you talking about those fan cycle switches after seeing one that was bad a few days ago.

10 years is impressive! I’m sure you’ve seen some crazy stuff out there.
You are the Ice Machine Guru!!!
My friend from the UK! Good to see you Michael.
That switch was a little crispy!cool find.
Like a burnt marshmallow. lol.
I'm very surprised that it wasn't leaking.
I thought it was leaking too.
Nice video. Im sure this has been asked before, but does your company only do ice machines?
Almost only ice machines. We dabble in refrigeration when we get presented with an opportunity.
I must say your the best im tech ive seen.
Thank you for the compliment. There are better technicians out there and that’s a fact.
