Ive got a km1200 still running strong on r22. And 2 km1300 under 5 years old with plate separtion.😢
At 12:12 when you talk about pulling the auger out, how do you get it to pull out more? I can’t get it to come out anymore to get that metal piece in to screw it down. I took off the plastic housing on the opposite end and tried to push from there. No luck. Tried using a screw driver to pry it out. Doesn’t budge.
Dump question, could you do a video on the best way of removing water from the water reservoir.

You are 100% right. The float was definitely adjusted up prior to my arrival and I missed it. I’ll take care of it. Thank you for pointing it out.

just curious, how did you determine the TXV was bad?
That’s a good question. I definitely should have place a gauge on the machine so we could see the refrigerant pressures. Long story short, the TXV should have been closing and restricting the flow of refrigerant so the refrigerant wouldn’t make its way the compressor.
I guess setting #5 is the Scotsman equivalent of changing dip switch settings 1 and 2 on a Hoshizaki

Someone had completely shut off the purge setting. Machine “thought” it was getting RO water.

Would say that it’s normal for these manitowoc ice machines to run low on water ( both high & low not sensing ) when there’s ice on the evap? I’ve got a machine which satisfies its trough fill , but as the water becomes ice and sticks to the evap, the trough becomes so low that the level sensor stops sensing and the water flow over the evap seems to get weaker. Shouldn’t it initiate the fill valve to open when the sensor sees it drop? Thanks bro 👍🏻
Towards the end of freeze there should be a small amount of water left in the water trough. The water sensors shouldn’t be sending water towards the end of freeze. If you’re running out of water prior to the machine cycling into harvest you may have an issue. Make sure you’re not loosing water down the drain through the dump valve. Make sure you have good water pressure going to the machine. The machine should fill with water prior to the initial 2 minute pre-chill. Hope this helps.

On my meter board its showing - 106, - 46, is it the board thats bad or water pump, it refuse to pump water and the inlet is good, it brings water but refuses to pump it, what may be the reason sir
I responded to your other comment with the number to Manitowoc Tech Support. Seems like you’re having an issue that requires some over the phone support.
What if after checking with a meter and it reads negative and some number, does it mean the fuse or relay is bad and how do you check if the pump is good. And on the dashboard is shows water pump off. What do i do pls

We have had about 10 in the field for over a year now. I was a little apprehensive about all of the new technology but I love it now. Pressure transducers are a game changer on ice machines. All of the sensors are great for diagnostic purposes. I havent had many problems yet. You should have shown the information screen. Im sure you will eventually.
Good to know they’ve been out there getting tested. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how helpful all the tech is in diagnosing.

The bin mouths get so nasty on these. And so do the evaporator drain pan. Black mold and pink slime. Gets gross.

I really like the setup of the True. I got to put my hands on it earlier this year at the Natural Refrigeration Conference in Pittsburgh. They said they have had them in test markets for about 2 years. Great video.
Totally agree with you. Nothing to dislike so far.
Too much problems to go wrong with this True ice machine, i’ll stick to Manitowoc or koolaire very simple technology.
Only time will tell. They’re all good machines.
I don’t know about that drain
The drain line is lower than the bottom of the water trough. This could be helpful for scale reduction.

The filter is about $100 and the labor is around 250 ish.
Hi buddy nice video you got there...I need help with my ice machine First it had a problem of bin full .i found out that the gas is low,now soon as the compressor start the machine goes to defrost

Best advice would be to call Scotsman tech support. They can walk you through a step by step diagnosis process. Doing this through the comments section will be close to impossible.
My unit just turned off one morning as if it is not plugged in. Is their a electrical relay or something I can check maybe?
Check to see if the control board is getting power.

I don’t have the layout of this particular machine memorized. There should be a wiring diagram somewhere that’ll show you the important things to check.

Over the top. Between the water curtain and the evaporator.
