Greg shows you how to change cabin air filter in your 2004-2009 Prius. This cabin air filter installation procedure should take you less than 5 minutes. A cabin filter change is the best way to improve the air quality in your toyota prius. You do not have to go to the dealer and pay them over $75 when you can easily do it yoursel (DIY). It is so easy.

I had a mouse house too in my Prius but she pulled kleenex out of a box on my front seat and went to the outer part of the air exchange and piled it up to the extent that it caused such a drag on the blower motor that it burned it out! I finally figured out there was a mouse living in my car and caught it with a mouse trap. I could not figure out why when I got into the car there were small shreds of kleenex all over passenger seat and floor! Now I know! Those mice are destructive little beggars!

Helpful video. It isn't always necessary to replace (= throw into landfill) your air cabin filter. Gently clean with warm water and soft brush, or vacuum it with a wand vacuum attachment. Be careful not to damage (tear) the filter, since then you will need to replace it. But you can reuse a time or two without issues. If your Prius AC seems to be not performing as well as it once did, this should always be your first step. My original filter was so clogged (based on the fine silt/dust of the rural roads I often drive) that the AC set to max was barely sufficient. After cleaning, only 2 'bars' of AC power was all I needed. 2012 Plug in Prius 102k miles.
