BEHIND THE SCENES: ua-cam.com/video/Jz93MwsMGP4/v-deo.html LYRICS: INTRO: You are about to see the most incredible doll ever invented Her name is Poppy and she is the first truly intelligent doll in the world... VERSE 1: Come take a tour behind the doors where dreams are made Where boys and girls around the world can come to play Where you’ll see entertainment innovation on display Though you can’t escape the fun, imagination runs away There’s no better place to spend All your days and play pretend No, you won’t be on your own ‘Cause you can always make a friend So, on us you can depend That the fun will never end ‘Cause we’re much too plush to break But just maybe we could bend Then the lights went down And the doors stayed closed And the toys soon found They were on their own So as silence fell On their factory home Well, they climbed from shelves And began to roam Now, you may think we’re just playthings Sitting wasting and decaying, We’ve been waiting every day since You made graves out of our casings We were made for entertaining So forgive us for complaining All you left for us to do Was spool through Tapes of safety training Trapped in the factory, what a calamity Banished to languish in cramped bits of packaging Plastic all cracked and fragmented and rattling Tangled and matted and batteries flattening Warranty voided and sanity vanishing Stitches have split and our minds are unravelling Left us abandoned but now you’ve come back and We’ve banked up the hugs So come get some love CHORUS: Out of the toybox Now we’re crawling out the toybox Now we’re crawling out the toybox Now we’re crawling out the toybox A little girl can talk to her, poppy gives her answers. She is the first doll actually able to have a conversation with a child Hard to believe? Just watch. VERSE 2 : ‘Cause we’re destined to be best friends You and I from the second you stepped in You give me butterflies in my tummy As my hugs mulch your intestines Give a high five to the big guy And a big hand to yourself Now your arms are long enough To slap boxes off the shelf But if you think that gloves and string Are really going to help We’re wondering what other limbs Can be detached as well Don’t think that toys have got things to say then? Look at these points of articulation Pull on my string, have a conversation Oh, so you think we’re abominations?! Look who made us, then betrayed us Left to must and dust for ages Rusting, stuck in cardboard cages Memories fade as rage replaces What we were, our former names We aren’t quite sure from where we came But someone must have worked here once And now they’re gone and we remain! BRIDGE: All we know is how to play Play, play, play, play Then you took the play away Way, way, way, way Three and up is what they say Say, say, say, say Now we’re into playing Way more dangerous games Wind it up, watch it spin All the lies come round again Close your eyes, count to ten You can’t hide from your friends And, if you've ever wanted to see how all of the nation's favorite toys were created Playtime Co. is now offering factory tours at just $2.99 a person What time is it? It’s playtime! CHORUS: Now we’re crawling out the toybox Now we’re crawling out the toybox Now we’re crawling out the toybox Now we’re crawling out the toybox VERSE 3: So take a tour where all the dreams have gone to die Where just some double-As can make your nightmares come to life Where imagination paved the way to suffering and strife It’s a play date with destiny we’ve yet to see survived! Take those tin toys from the attic Bring those dolls down from the loft Take your old friend out and ask if They resent their resting spot They may just be some plastic They may look stuffed and soft They’ll still put you in a casket But you won’t be mint in box! CHORUS: Now we’re crawling out the toybox Now we’re crawling out the toybox Now we’re crawling out the toybox Now we’re crawling out the toybox Crawling out the toybox Now we’re crawling out the toybox Now we’re crawling out the toybox Now we’re crawling out the toybox Ready or not, we’ll find you Huggy's long huggable arms may present a choking hazard... Ready or not, we’ll find you
The production on this was crazy. That massive box with the Stup art on it was fantastic I kinda want one. The slow descent into madness was amazing. Some great subtle references not only in the writing, but in the video itself.
Wait I liked your comment then saw who you were Just know that you're the one who alerted me about stupes releasing a video today (gonna watch your reaction now) ;)
It's clear how much work you poured into this! The physical sets are mind-blowing, the song is spectacular and the production quality is just mind blowing! Thank you so much for putting quality over quantity. I've always admired that in your songs. ❤️
@@CalamityEvermore Im pretty sure aswell, people dont usually put much tough behind It, but the person also used "He" in the phrase, so I wanted to help the person Know stupes a bit better
The best and worst thing about your songs for games as a whole, as opposed to individual characters, is that you've got this insane knack for hitting the exact spirit of the game in a way even the actual games themselves often struggle to meet moment to moment. This was spectacular, dude. Damn good work.
Your outfit in this one is fantastic. As is your physical acting, the semi-jerky movements really added to the toy effect. I also have to mention your makeup, just wonderful, very much sells the doll eyes. I could be wrong, but it looks like you used white liner on your lower waterline and then black along your lash line to give the appearance a wider eye? It's something that I've actually done before for cosplay.
I honestly cannot put into words how incredible this song is: The production quality The song's lyrics The Acting The Makeup [REMAINDER OF LIST TOO LONG TO SEND] All jokes aside, you truly are a criminally underrated treasure to this platform Stupes, and all we can ask of you is that you keep pumping out absolute bangers like this, whenever you can.
No cap if they added a box of his character as an easter egg in the official game or even the Poppy Playtime spinoff multiplayer game I'd lose my mind.
I don't think it's animated. I think they recorded their head rotating slowly then sped it up and edited it onto their head in the video, same as the hands. P.S. there is a video breakdown on their second channel that shows the storyboard, the raw footage, and the final video. I'd link it but it doesn't seem like UA-cam likes links in comments. Edit: I have a public playlist on my channel called 'The Toybox'. You'll find the song, the video breakdown, and the behind the scenes video in it.
no matter how people may feel about the game at this point, I'm impressed beyond belief and so overjoyed at this, and no one can deny the amount of love, talent, and effort that went into this project. you never cease to amaze your fans as your productions only improve and grow, stupe. now excuse me while I watch and listen on repeat for the next week
@@rbpgamemaster bro wtf? The devs pour their heart into it they are a dev team of 100 and only 2 of them are involved in any drama they also have a whole different team for merch that includes the nfts…
@@froodlechanguy It's a hubris scenario. They took a great plot idea, a great starting point, and drove it down the 'making ludicrous amounts of money of dumbasses and children' route. I love the ideas and the game itself, but I just can't support a line of business that has a goal of becoming the new annoying thing for kids to obsess over. No horror game should have that as a goal. Nor should any game sell nfts. Or anything, to be honest.
You're a real talent, Stupendium. You can sing, edit, mix and act. You have the mind of an artist and a musician. I'm so glad my husband introduced me to your music. We both love you.
I can see why you decided to still release this despite all the problems with the game and developers as of recent. The amount of time, effort and money in just the production alone looks insane and at the end of the day it is an amazing song as well. You really captured how horrifying so many toys gaining sentience would be. Keep up the amazing work Stupes and I can't wait to see what you release next ❤❤
As a lyricist and vocalist myself, I just want to say that this is honestly the best bit of media i've seen of Poppy's Playtime ever, past even the game itself. You somehow encompassed everything about it, the controversy, the gameplay, the premise, and expanded on all of it in a simply beautiful and extravagant fashion. Honestly incredible work. I can proudly say one thing overall: I definitely want to reach levels of skill like this in the future. I can't wait to see how much crazier you get with another project, Stupendium! You deserve all the praise you get, and more.
Incredible, I'm a huge fan of all the FNAF music and this is top 3 all-time of all music in the FNAF / Poppy Playtime / Gaming music genre... great work
@@Imperials3nate The company behind Poppy's Playtime are uhhh...less than nice, let's say that There are a bunch of subtle nods, namely to scummy company stuff, in the song. But I also wasn't thinking about it right when I posted this - So I may have misinterpreted it a bit lol
What I love about the Stupendium is I don't even need to like the game. I know the song is still gonna rock my socks off. Poppy playtime is by far one of the indie games I like the least, mainly because it's just doing the same thing others have done before with little change or originality and wants to make a buck before making a game, and yet, here I am, absolutely LOVING a Poppy Playtime song
Couldn't agree more! Emob definitely is in a bad shape atm and I do believe they will try continue to get as much money out of the it as possible. It wouldn't even be that bad of a game if it wasn't for the creators, what a shame
Honestly, I'm in the same boat. It's a shame that the game's potential got held back by such crumby developers, yet this song still slaps regardless of all that junk.
thats the neat part of music. take jt-music's rap about lawbreakers. the game died fast, and was riddled with bugs. however the rap was great. and stupendium is even better at it, cause he makes a rap about the world around the game instead of about the character, allowing for more freedom usually. and with how much care stupes puts into production and music its very possible he might one day be asked by a film studio to make music for the movie, like teamheadkick got with their deadpool rap that got modified and put into the movie. plus he has shown he can do a lot of different styles of rap, so its just a matter of time.
One of the things I've always loved about your songs is what aspect of the game you make the song about. Very rarely do you just take the events of the game and make a song about them, instead you choose an interesting theme from the game and make a song about that. And it always turns out incredible
@@TheStupendium i thank you for that, it *is* a lot more interesting to cut to the soul of a game and channel into music instead of making a song of the history of a game, you make a song *about* the game
The amount of production Stupendium puts into their songs is so unreal they always know how to really make a banger, as well as beautiful costume design! I love that their toy version is a singing nutcracker(?)!
I don’t think anyone is ever gonna beat the sheer amount of *effort* that the Stupendium puts into every song and video Like this is insane, custom boxes, costumes, animations, editing and visual effects,
I know! That's gotta be the best Huggy costume I have and probably will have the pleasure of seeing! Of course, I'm not saying that's the only good thing about this video. This is what every music video dreams to be!
their attention to detail certainly pays off! every video of theirs is pack to the brim with fun references, not to mention all the music they make is incredible!
This type of content shows how much you actually care about the games you write about. This goes for all of your songs, but the absurd amount of in-jokes and references, both to the games and your own content, and the layers upon layers of clever wordplay is absolutely incredible. I continue to have no words.
I know, right ?? The Stupendium's not just a great singer and composer, he's an actual SONGWRITER. Those lyrics are always genius ! Each time you listen to a Stupendium song, you get to understand something new and love it even more. And, side note : the music video production quality keeps getting better and better !! This one looked like what could've been made by super top-tier companies for worldwide singers like Sia or Katy Perry
@@moemuxhagi Stupes is always one-upping themself, i swear! all of their songs, no matter how bad the game may be, are all so well done, the lyrics, the video, and even the acting!
Every time i listen to this, i try to interpret it into ASL because it frankly translates really well. Then you get to "Trapped in a factory...." and my hands panic but my heart sings. This song is far better than the game itself.
Regardless of the controversy, this song is an absolute banger. Even if you don't like Poppys Playtime this song can easily be seen as simply being about toys coming to life and turning evil in a general sense.
Indeed!! We can't let the game creators ruin the character for us, besides maybe someone else could buy Poppy Playtime? Regardless, Poppy's the cutest doll I've ever seen. It was also really neat seeing one of my cousins in the song!! =D
I haven't seen anyone talking about this, so I'm gonna praise you for it, Stupes. The End Credits scene with you shouting out the Patreons was amazing, with a voice that sounds like it could be used in a Sylvester and Tweetie Bird or Looney Toons cartoon and fit in perfectly, the amazing way to cut it off with the batteries dying after that amazing performance. Overall, this song was a 12/10, even with all of MoB Game's stuff looming over Poppy Playtime stuff
I say fuk whatever their issue is this song is worth your time theirs no need to downplay a product because something else is sour I for one love Little Ellen show even though Ellen sucks IRL XD for example
I love the creativity of turning yourself into a toy that sings the song. It feels way more impactful and true to the story than just dressing up as an already existing character- and all the little easter eggs, logos, and stuff like that just really sell it along with your acting. Kinda into the game, SUPER into this song. Absolutely amazing.
The sudden unhinged "oh, so you think we're abominations?!" really caught me off guard and really illustrates one of my favorite things about your songs, where you can make a slightly unsettling but cheery backdrop, completely lose it for a second and then go back to normal as if nothing happened.
YEAH! He practically tells you that "oh you think we're monsters" when really humans are the real monsters because they experimented on them to turn them into toys
It's not false information, the topic is the same just worded differently. I used the term "practically" to summarize what he said in a slightly shorter sentence. Why I did it? Cause I can and want to.
Stupendium - regardless of whatever controversy for the source games material, this song is a masterclass. I've been picking up on music theory and holy hell. You have made so many unique and hummable melodies. This song is amazingly discordant and uses it so effortlessly. You are a musical inspiration for me and likely many, many others. Cheers!
I don't much care for horror games, particularly FOTM ones, but I'll still always watch Stupes' uploads because he is absolutely raising and breaking the bar every upload. To me he singlehandedly destroyed my perception of video game fansongs being poorly written and clumsily slapdashed together.
Huge shoutout to Stupes for gouging out his left eye and replacing it with a fake one just for a 3 second clip in a music video! The lengths you go to for your production value are insane!
honestly this probably has more love and effort put into than the actual chapter 1. Also yes the effects are superb but can we talk how Stupendiums acting and dance moves are like... so clean and energetic while also somehow being believably stiff
@@chipdrawzstuff not at all yet he keeps one upping himself. been watching pretty much every video since find the keys and so far not one song I can describe as a total dud.
I'm gonna need a behind the scenes for this one, the production quality is absolutely astounding! It's hard to believe you work mostly solo with stuff like this! I'm excited for the next music video, especially after seeing how much effort was put into this. Amazing work, Stupendium, this was absolutely Stupendous!
I remember Spotify trying to recommend this song to me, but I'd always skip it. . . I finally caved in and gave it a listen. THIS RIGHT HERE, TAKES DEDICATION!!. You did an OUTSTANDING job Stupendium, on making this song. Keep up the excellent work!!
Just looking at one shot from this song immediately tells how much effort went into making this masterpiece - the master-crafted set-piece, props, and costumes are some of the best I've ever seen on UA-cam, and all went perfectly together, and the rap itself perfectly captures the darker side of toys, possibly even better than the original game! (with the little nod to everyone hi-fiving Huggy) Thank you so much for this beauty of a rap and for releasing it even with all the controversy regarding Poppy Playtime!
Indeed!! And imagine that's how Huggy actually felt - like; "ugh, and why do I have to lure this guy to Poppy again?" We can't let the game creators ruin the character for us, besides maybe someone else could buy Poppy Playtime? Regardless, Poppy's the cutest doll I've ever seen. It was also really neat seeing one of my cousins in the song!! =D
I really love the visual gags around 4:50, of the headless body strumming the guitar- and then attempting to play the trumpet. The little slump of the shoulders gets me every time lol. All in all this video is pretty phenomenal- really feels like a step above the norm, which is saying something, given how incredible Stupendium’s ‘norm’ is.
Everybody talks about the production, the amazing set, the absolute beauty that is the lyrics, but can we appreciate the instrumental for a second? It perfectly captures this horror-toy theme with the toy instruments used alongside the electric guitar. It reminds me of the theme for Child’s Play 2019 in the absolute best way possible. The stupendium as an artist and as a person will endlessly impress and astound me.
"I started work on this before [relevant controversy/issue] came to light but couldn't afford to throw away all that work" WHY CANT MORE CREATORS DO THIS?! THANK YOU! There are so many times where I see people release songs or other kinds of projects where it's VERY clear that there was a level of investment that can't just be thrown away when you're a content creator struggling to ride that line of financial volatility and audience retention, but so many just choose to ignore the tire fire around them (which both ignore the problem AND to a certain extent condones any problematic activity related) when I can say with certainty a single sentence worth of a disclaimer would mean world of a difference to more than just myself. So again, thank you for that. That said? I was never into Poppy to begin with, and this is still one of your most engrossing music videos to date. Much like the Room for Improvement and Tune Into the Madness, my other two favorites of your live action videos, the story is entirely self contained even if clearly inspired by something and it makes FULL use of every moment of screentime. I'm also either going crazy or there was some Panic! influence with the composition and either way I adore how the guitar comes in throughout the song and parallels the plush toys and dolls giving way to mangled and mechanical horrors.
I can't stop listening to this song every night at work. There is something truly enchanting about it and I can't explain why. It gives me chills in a beautiful way.
I can't be the only one who really liked the way that last "Ready or not, we'll find you" sounded. Like I'd love to hear him use that kind of voice in more songs
This. Is. INCREDIBLE! I managed to stumble across this gem at about 5:30am this morning... and I've had it in my head ever since. Now, I feel bad for my friends who'll have to listen to me sing "NOW WE'RE CRAWLING OUT THE TOYBOX" on repeat! 😂 Stupes, you killed it! :)
Stu's musical toy soldier should totally be the basis for a potential main antagonist in Poppy Playtime. His character would drowsily bemoan the state of the factory and the toys only to sing merrily about all the horrible ways they will kill the player character once he gets caught. Heck, the devs should even ask him to do the voice acting and singing if they want to make that chapter truly memorable.
alternative idea: Stupendium's marching band should have its own spinoff game entirely. Still voiced by the one and only Stupendium, naturally. just imagine not only hearing toy marchers sing about how they'll dismember you, but in order to escape/hide you'd have to play along to their song? and as the game progresses, you encounter more of them at once with different instruments that have to be handled in different ways simultaneously! i dont even play horror games but id watch the shit out of a game like that XD
if he does get his character in poppy playtime, i have a few suggestions. one, the name. we'll say "sing along stupendium" as its on the boxes in the video if you look hard enough. it fits well with the name scheme of the other toys on my opinion. second, what if his motive was initially to play music with the player, but the player messes up so the insane Stupendium, tries to "improve" the player by forcing him to play instruments throughout the chapter, before finally becoming impatient and ordering his men to tear him apart for his "disrespect for musical talent". We find out he's Exp. 1164, and his behavior before his mental breakdown was very cheery and loved to play music for the children, and was the first one to be lowered in musical memory before his popularity dropped and he was replaced with bunzo bunny. this infuriated him, and started his obsession with popularity, wanting a show. when one of his men went down(the player sees him fall off a ledge into one of the holes made by the building's collapse. Its a really bloody scene) Stupendium decides to make the player a replacement instead of the audience, forcing him to play for an audience of cardboard cut outs of the characters revealed before and maybe some new ones. during the performance, two men, at two different times, messed up and angered Stupedium, and after you mess up a few times, he loses it and goes on a rampage, tearing the first two apart with his bear hands and ordering his men to retrieve you after you escape in a vent they can't reach. his men pull out dangerous, weaponized versions of normal instruments and you have to play the one one the ground nearby without messing up to calm them, since music makes them a slave to Stupendium. Messing up will make them hostile again. The instrument Stupendium has controls them, so can also make them stop for a while. It's how he controls them. at one point, poppy realizes it and she makes a point out of it. Using the instrument you have, you're able to make his men tear him apart in a gruesome death scene, similar to how you kill huggy and mommy. how does that sound? also ik Stupendium wouldnt mind a bad guy role as he says it at the end of his evil genius song.
@@gagekelley5047 tbh im all for the having to play instruments part, because im a fan of games where music/rhythm is a main mechanic, but i think it'd be weirder/more memorable if there was some way the toys mangled their victims WITH the instruments. like idk about you but i have DEFINITELY thought a sousaphone could kill me back in my marching band days lol :P but yea alliterative name for sure. plot arc is interesting, the change of mindset from "I want to put on a show" to "I need to put on the BEST show" kinda reminds me of that painter from Bioshock? it's a good story ngl, that's why that part of bioshock is memorable lol gd i feel like im being pretentious im sorry if thats how i come across, thats not my intention >_< im an artist and this is the only way i know how to respond to creative ideasss
@@Mangaka718 nice to see people already like my idea. I think that would be cool too actually. Never though about the instruments being dangerous. How about this. The instruments are also alive, and have faces, and stuff. And Stupendium's men let the instruments tear you apart while they hold either you or the instruments. And here's something to add to the story. Before musical memory was a thing, Stupendium was going to be on a stage but musical memory and the other games became more of a perfered option so the stage was built, but never used or torn down. It was originally meant to be a circular stange where he would and his men would march in a circle and play music the whole time, with a 15 minute break between 45 minute performances. The stairs would lead up into the area from the center of the adiences, and you have to march while you play in the band, stopping to rest would give you 1 mistake. Once you get three, you get jump scared. You have to last at least 3 minutes. Once it's done, you take a break and he starts telling you you're doing marvelous. But the instrument breaks after you start again and gets mad, giving you an out of tune instrument. After a little bit he gets super pissed. His men also break their own instruments, and Stupendium goes crazy. Back to the story. After being replaced, he was going to be sent to the "island of misfit toys" mentioned in the light blue tape in chapter 2, where you you have to move Bron with the claw. He escaped(the people, not the island. He never got to the island.) and found out he was originally going to be on a stage. So he practiced every day since whatever happened to be perfect and put on his best possible performance when someone finally comes. And of course his men and you mess it up.
It really is one hit after another with this guy, it’s astonishing how much pure gold he can make from just about anything, the song was incredible, the visuals were absolutely stunning, and the creativity was off the charts. If I could I would get the lyrics tattooed on my leg.
I don't know if this guy realises that this singular song that he made is better than both Poppy Playtime chapter 1 and 2. One singular song being better than a total of nearly 3 hours of games in five minutes. And the video too. This guy is crazy. Now I shall crawl out of the toybox so that I hear this banger better :)
The visuals are just astonishing for this one. The colours, the visual effects and 'real life' SFX along with the visual animation, the advert... Everything. Stupes has absolutely outdone himself.
Stupendium is really out here putting more creativity, artistic skill, passion, and integrity into Poppy Playtime than the actual developers of the game. Impeccable work as always, sir.
i absolutely agree! the creators of the game may suck, but i have faith that Stupes can make the most uninteresting things amazing with just one of their songs! their singing is incredible, their acting is remarkable, and good lord, are the lyrics catchy!
@@aldiascholarofthefirstsin1051 I know of the nfts but what else caused such negative reaction that your more willing to commit a crime than support the developers
You truly never fail to impress, Stupes. A bop as usual, and the effort that went into all the little details in this video can only be guessed, but it makes sense why this took so long to make. The character you came up with to play for this one is also particularly cool with just the right amount of creepiness (Really liked the severed head bit, to name just one thing). I also really appreciate the disclaimer in the description - totally understandable why you wouldn't want to abandon something this far into it and it was worth it if I do say so myself! Also it's not like the developers of Poppy Playtime are earning any money from you making this song, just maybe getting some attention, which is an acceptable sacrifice in my opinion. I feel like this is one of these times where you can and should be able to separate the creation from the creator. Overall this definitely made for a very cool and well-rounded project, keep it up!
Probably one of my new favorites, and i think you had more then enough of a right to post this after all this effort you put into it, every single part had me wiggling in my seat to the beat
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the support! I am really glad you enjoyed the video so much and appreciate all of the time and effort that went into it.
I love how both the "wind it up" and the "crawling out the toybox" lines are formatted like a chorus, and the end bit has audio from both. it adds to the sort of chaotic feel of the song!
Never heard of this channel before, came here from MatPat's video on the Poppy Playtime tape. I must say, HOLY CRAP this is amazing! Well done, good sir! Subscribed for sure!
It's insane how the production is constantly developing. I remember leaving a comment where I said that in 5 years your songs are going to improve even more but already this piece is a whole new level which can compete with more massive musical videos of pop stars. Great work!!!!
This song helped me a bunch staying sane through exams, so thank you! ^^ The work you put into your videos is truly exceptional - it is astounding how much talent you have for singing and song writing, it really makes you the most unique and best creator I've ever seen on this platform. Keep doing what you're doing because you're killing it.
Thank you so much, friend! Your support means the world! I'm really glad you've been enjoying my work and I wish you the best of luck with your exam results! Thank you!
This is absolutely incredible, I'm still rewatching this trying to find all of the little details. I had to pause at 2:45 because I had to take a moment to let my brain process what had just happened. Your production quality is always mind-blowing, but you might have achieved perfection with this. Keep up the stupendous work!
The part that starts with, "all we know is how to play, play, play" and ends with "you can't hide from your friends" sounds so good it helps me align with my higher self.
I'm seriously starting to want more games to come out just for these songs. He excels in horror and dark undertones but I don't think I've disliked a song yet, regardless of the game genre.
Ive never been more afraid of a toy goose. Honestly tho, this is the only good thing to come out of the Poppy Playtime community, could listen for hours, likely will.
The stupendium is the type of guy to not give up on his performance until the very end of a video, the man stays in character even after the songs done, and it shows their commitment to their work
My god, I love this. The lyrics, the instrumental, the CGI, and the set design. It's absolutely amazing. I love how much effort was put into this. I also noticed how different parts of the song was focusing on different parts of the Poppy Playtime story. 1st part was the company's history and tragedy, and the loneliness of the toys. 2nd part was about the in-game events, making constant references to the player and what happened in chapter 1. 3rd part was about how the toys went to complete madness and rage, becoming bloodthirsty and threatening the protagonist of Poppy Playtime. Yearning for the old days where they made children happy.
Stup's just destroyed my brain when that bridge collided with the chorus at the end. Let alone the incredible harmonies and track. The lyrics are stupendous and I don't know how he keeps getting better! Love to see this kinda stuff from you, will definitely play on repeat while doing schoolwork.
This song is an instant favorite for me. Not only is incredibly catchy and beautifully orchastreated. I just love the video art. Both obvious things like the incredible well done robot dance as well as small things in the background like the headless tinman letting his shoulders down in sadness when he can't play the flute. Just amazing. Thank you for this
"Look who made us, then betrayed us. Left to must and dust for ages. Rusting, stuck in cardboard cages. Memories fade as rage replaces." I can never imagine how well written this song can be that it can make me actually shed a tear in a Thursday Morning. Guess it is just knowing the HBO Max controversy though. Wish I never underestimated how good your writing is to picture certain scenarios. To not just Poppy Playtime or even the HBO Max, but to other scenarios can also have been imagined that we may never know. When we do know though, this song will come back like an ear worm when we need to listen to it again. Whether it was just uncontrollable coincidence, or nights of well written lyrics, it still feels genuine to picture these different scenarios of how a production can interpret. Hope you are recovering from COVID btw.
@@idontknoq4813 I think its best to search up Saberspark's breakthrough of the situation, HBOMax basically stopped streaming like 40 cartoons without any of the animation team's consent. 2.) Nothing really, just a bit of Covid where he couldn't make it to a convention. Other than that, this was just ranting of me loving stupendiums work and how surreal his writing is.
Insane rhyme schemes, incredible editing, and a production quality genuinely unparalleled in 2022 nerdcore; you continue to reach new heights, Stupendium. Man, that giant box looks SO good... Not just as a prop, but design-wise, it really sells the appearance of a package you could see on shelves.
"Don’t think that toys have got things to say then? / Look at these points of articulation" Ooh, that double meaning took me a few listens to catch, very clever! Amazing lyricism as always, as well as some mind-bendingly spectacular production quality! It's hard to overstate how excellent of a job you've all done, and here's to fewer controversial game developers in the future...
@@taroko02 with toys "points of articulation" refers to the joints that bend and turn, like arms, legs, heads and hands. Lots of points of articulation means the toy is very posable. Articulation can also refer to how well someone speaks and explains their points or ideas, to be well spoken is to be articulate. In the song it can possibly refer to both at the same time. As the toys can both move and express themselves (however violently they choose to do so).
Really nailed some body horror vibes with the various twitches and glitches the toy soldier had. Also, Stu was really channeling some "Jeffrey Combs in House on Haunted Hill" energy in the VHS tape bits. :D
This is easily the best thing to come out of Poppy Playtime. Also, I appreciate the little voices behind the vocals, it's something that took me a couple listens to even notice, but it's a nice touch, and listening to Stupes is far from a chore.
The Production value of these are always amazing and this didn't disappoint. All of the hidden Easter eggs and meanings In the verses keep me coming back. I will be completely honest, I'm not the biggest fan of rap, but The Stupendium somehow makes their songs enjoyable to even those who don't normally enjoy the genre. Keep up the good work, and don't let anyone tell you that you haven't accomplished anything because you truly have.
This hits ever note PERFECTLY. The song is insanely catchy and has made me come back and listen countless times (I immediately added to my playlist on Apple Music on my first watch). It manages to retell the story of Poppy's in a way that I feel like anyone can be audibly immersed in the dilapidated halls of Playtime Co. without even knowing it was a game before. Then the music video is an absolute masterpiece of concepts, production design, and 3D animation. I've been on a binge of Stupendium songs since their "Little Bit of Theorizing" collab, and the way this team managed to make the focal character actually feel like a walking toy, after having seen them be the face of every other video, is beyond words. Big props to The Stupedium for their acting throughout The creativity in this project is beyond inspiring.
Your dedication and creativity really shows in this video! As an artist, I’m really grateful you acknowledged the issues with the game’s creators and the NFTs. But this is just gorgeous: the lyrics have this terrifying whimsy, the music is cheery, and the costumes and set- well done, Stuart Pendium!❤️
Love everything about the production quality of the live action bits; Lighting, props, costume, effects both practical and cg, everything. Song is also solid. 1:00-1:15 and 2:15-2:23 are fantastic. Thumbs up Stupendium; your skills have only increased over the four years I've watched you. Can't wait to hear the next song I put on repeat.
Hey Stupendium! Is there any place to vote for your videos to be nominated for any awards? I'm old AF and when I see your videos, I'm reminded of Michael Jackosn and some of his wild, revolutionary style videos. Have you been nominated for any awards? How do we vote for you? It is so unfair that artistry like yours has not had a chance to shine under the spotlight. I re-watch this video every few months when I have a few drinks and I cannot believe it hasn't won any awards! What the heck!!!! Amazing work man, amazing. I am in awe. I am a writer myself and when I look at your art, I am so inspired. Amazing work!!! -J
I really appreciate the kind words! I'm not aware of any awards where my weird, niche content really qualifies. I'm certainly not nominated for anything currently! I have been nominated for and and once won a Logan Award in the past, which is a small American comedy music awards ceremony! But generally there aren't really awards for this sort of thing that I'm aware of!
I was loving the visuals and the song. Then the head/hands spin happened, and I was blown away. What must have been insanely difficult to produce, was so smoothly done it seemed eerily natural, befitting the character. Absolutely stunning, I loved every second of the video!
I really like these types of songs Stupendium does where its not actually about the main game's story or characters, but is more just a song about the world itself, if that makes sence, it allows for more creativity. And this has to be one of my favourites, I adore the playful yet eerie the lyrics and music are. And I cant praise the visuals enough! Visually, in my opinion, this is the Stupendium's best work. The animation, the costuming, the props, and from what I can tell that seems to be a physical set. I cant imagine the amount of effort this song must have taken.
@@Mikashi27 they actually work on multiple songs and videos at once, different songs and videos take more or less time, they have been working on this, and many other music videos long before the month of their release, super crazy ones like this or tune into the madness are in production for a very long time
Don't care about the controversy around Poppy Playtime as a game, your production to me is your own creation independent of their actions and I would never judge you based on their actions. It is unfortunate that their actions will to some degree taint this otherwise brilliant production. I can see you put your heart and soul into it's making, it shows and is much appreciated. Keep up the good work.
@@leophyte9663 One of them has been using NFTs to make people spend 20+ dollars on a single digital trading card with incentive that collecting them all would give a sneakpeak for the next chapter of the game. Not sure what any others are.
@@Dante-Balisk I mean, it sounds like a dick move from that singular person but not exactly a big deal... from the comment above, I really thought they had said racist stuff on twitter or something like that
@@Dante-Balisk Another is that police are issuing warnings. The game is so popular that ticktock/UA-cam streams might expose a little kid to a jumpscare.
@@Dante-Balisk Luckily the NFTs were pulled and I believe refunded (possibly, I know they released the secret coded message through regular means and are doing normal merch and secret treasure hunts). The other things I found to mostly be the UA-cam channel they started out on; Most of it was drama about people not attached to Poppy playtime or people who left the Channel or years old and apologized for. The old channel is still active and makes what could be considered clickbaity animations but mostly harmless, failed to do some research on some characters and got accused of making a minor character act suggestively when the character is one of like a dozen Harley Quinn knockoffs in their games. Mostly, they just struck gold and are fumbling over themselves trying to figure out what to do.
This whole video is a masterpiece (as are all Stupendium videos because they are incapable of making anything other than the absolute best songs), but the whole section between 2:37 and 2:45 has to be my favorite part. It’s simultaneously so unsettling and so fun.
Ok so the video was great and I love it! But you also gotta appreciate the subtle points of comedy that go into these- Like something about animated huggy looking so damn dissapointed/annoyed/disguisted when you high five his face instead of his hand is more hilarious to me then it has any right to be
Stupendium? I'm sure you've heard this a 1000 times, but you are one amazing stupendous artist. The level of skill and technical prowess shown just keeps blowing me away. My jaw dropped several times as I watched this one. The level of personalization shown here is outrageous good, and this is the very reason I keep coming back to watch your stuff because of how much love you put into each of your works. it never feels like making these are a grind to you. iT's a helluva lot of work to be sure, but it doesn't FEEL like work. I always get the feeling you have a blast making them. This time? i'm flabbergasted by the sheer skill in special effects and how you felt and looked like a real toy here... and THEN you just had to go and pull those stunts. i nearly shrieked in surprise and a bit of fear because I just was NOT expecting it! Brilliant! The wordplay is as solid as ever and that toy room just ... WOW.
"One day, when he's old and feeble, he'll be in a nostalgic mood, and he'll come up here to see us again and to reminisce - AND THEN WE'LL GET HIM!" - a cartoon about broken toys in the attic, by the late Gahan Wilson. Great work on this one!
I might be isolated in this thought, but for some reason my favorite part was that small bit of animation where you actually gave huggy a personable reaction to being hit in the face. Just completely over it. I couldn’t explain why, but I’ve always had a soft spot for taking seemingly mindless killing machines and giving them relatable reactions to things
One of the most brilliant things about the internet is the fact that it allowed AMAZINGLY talented people like Stupendium, Tom MacDonald, Leo (from Frog Leap Studious) to almost entirely bypass corporate strangle hold on music publication. Truly Democratizing art and music. God Speed you weird wonderful human. Any single Stupendium song is better written and performed than anything by Lizzo, Billie Eilish, and all the rest of the pop-puppets.
Jonathan Young, Nathan Sharp, Aviators, Caleb Hyles, Or3o, theres so many UA-cam musicians that create amazing works of art better than almost anything found on the radio.
Genuinely speechless, this is incredible. The way you’re able to perfectly replicate the atmosphere of every game you make a song about is insane. AND the song is catchy as hell as well. Wow. Also how the hell did you manage to do whatever you did at 2:37. That’s some professional level whatever you did there.
The whole sequence from 2:33 to 2:45 is so delightfully unnerving, culminating in possibly the most terrifying image I've ever seen on this channel. Literally got an actual yelp out of me. Edit: Also, the *detail* from this man! At 1:14, instead of using just a simple jump cut, he took the time to make sure the box he 'teleported out of' was still rocking from his hand being removed! I CAN'T EVEN! Stupendium is reaching new heights, and I'm so glad to be here for it.
BEHIND THE SCENES: ua-cam.com/video/Jz93MwsMGP4/v-deo.html
LYRICS:
INTRO:
You are about to see the most incredible doll ever invented
Her name is Poppy and she is the first truly intelligent doll in the world...
VERSE 1:
Come take a tour behind the doors where dreams are made
Where boys and girls around the world can come to play
Where you’ll see entertainment innovation on display
Though you can’t escape the fun, imagination runs away
There’s no better place to spend
All your days and play pretend
No, you won’t be on your own
‘Cause you can always make a friend
So, on us you can depend
That the fun will never end
‘Cause we’re much too plush to break
But just maybe we could bend
Then the lights went down
And the doors stayed closed
And the toys soon found
They were on their own
So as silence fell
On their factory home
Well, they climbed from shelves
And began to roam
Now, you may think we’re just playthings
Sitting wasting and decaying,
We’ve been waiting every day since
You made graves out of our casings
We were made for entertaining
So forgive us for complaining
All you left for us to do
Was spool through
Tapes of safety training
Trapped in the factory, what a calamity
Banished to languish in cramped bits of packaging
Plastic all cracked and fragmented and rattling
Tangled and matted and batteries flattening
Warranty voided and sanity vanishing
Stitches have split and our minds are unravelling
Left us abandoned but now you’ve come back and
We’ve banked up the hugs
So come get some love
CHORUS:
Out of the toybox
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
A little girl can talk to her, poppy gives her answers.
She is the first doll actually able to have a conversation with a child
Hard to believe? Just watch.
VERSE 2 :
‘Cause we’re destined to be best friends
You and I from the second you stepped in
You give me butterflies in my tummy
As my hugs mulch your intestines
Give a high five to the big guy
And a big hand to yourself
Now your arms are long enough
To slap boxes off the shelf
But if you think that gloves and string
Are really going to help
We’re wondering what other limbs
Can be detached as well
Don’t think that toys have got things to say then?
Look at these points of articulation
Pull on my string, have a conversation
Oh, so you think we’re abominations?!
Look who made us, then betrayed us
Left to must and dust for ages
Rusting, stuck in cardboard cages
Memories fade as rage replaces
What we were, our former names
We aren’t quite sure from where we came
But someone must have worked here once
And now they’re gone and we remain!
BRIDGE:
All we know is how to play
Play, play, play, play
Then you took the play away
Way, way, way, way
Three and up is what they say
Say, say, say, say
Now we’re into playing
Way more dangerous games
Wind it up, watch it spin
All the lies come round again
Close your eyes, count to ten
You can’t hide from your friends
And, if you've ever wanted to see how all of the nation's favorite toys were created
Playtime Co. is now offering factory tours at just $2.99 a person
What time is it?
It’s playtime!
CHORUS:
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
VERSE 3:
So take a tour where all the dreams have gone to die
Where just some double-As can make your nightmares come to life
Where imagination paved the way to suffering and strife
It’s a play date with destiny we’ve yet to see survived!
Take those tin toys from the attic
Bring those dolls down from the loft
Take your old friend out and ask if
They resent their resting spot
They may just be some plastic
They may look stuffed and soft
They’ll still put you in a casket
But you won’t be mint in box!
CHORUS:
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
Crawling out the toybox
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
Now we’re crawling out the toybox
Ready or not, we’ll find you
Huggy's long huggable arms may present a choking hazard...
Ready or not, we’ll find you
Woooooo, another banger from my favorite musicians

Your outfit in this one is fantastic. As is your physical acting, the semi-jerky movements really added to the toy effect.
I completely agree
Couldn't agree more! Emob definitely is in a bad shape atm and I do believe they will try continue to get as much money out of the it as possible. It wouldn't even be that bad of a game if it wasn't for the creators, what a shame
Honestly, I'm in the same boat. It's a shame that the game's potential got held back by such crumby developers, yet this song still slaps regardless of all that junk.
game: bendy ripoff
stupendium: one of his best songs
thats the neat part of music. take jt-music's rap about lawbreakers. the game died fast, and was riddled with bugs. however the rap was great. and stupendium is even better at it, cause he makes a rap about the world around the game instead of about the character, allowing for more freedom usually. and with how much care stupes puts into production and music its very possible he might one day be asked by a film studio to make music for the movie, like teamheadkick got with their deadpool rap that got modified and put into the movie. plus he has shown he can do a lot of different styles of rap, so its just a matter of time.
One of the things I've always loved about your songs is what aspect of the game you make the song about. Very rarely do you just take the events of the game and make a song about them, instead you choose an interesting theme from the game and make a song about that. And it always turns out incredible

Well the Abomination thing does symbolize that the toys where made by SICK F*CK scientists, and they never ask to be alive.

Indeed!! And imagine that's how Huggy actually felt - like; "ugh, and why do I have to lure this guy to Poppy again?"
We can't let the game creators ruin the character for us, besides maybe someone else could buy Poppy Playtime? Regardless, Poppy's the cutest doll I've ever seen.
It was also really neat seeing one of my cousins in the song!! =D
@ensignmarker 312 At 3:02 and the credits. =)
I have rewatched this (literally) countless times, and it still remains my absolute favourite Stupendium song!
"I started work on this before [relevant controversy/issue] came to light but couldn't afford to throw away all that work"
WHY CANT MORE CREATORS DO THIS?!
QUOI ?!
I can't stop listening to this song every night at work. There is something truly enchanting about it and I can't explain why. It gives me chills in a beautiful way.

@@TheStupendium oh Lordy, DO IT MORE STUPES
This. Is.
@@Mangaka718 That could work too. I especially like the idea of a whole Marching Band instead of just one.
if he does get his character in poppy playtime, i have a few suggestions. one, the name. we'll say "sing along stupendium" as its on the boxes in the video if you look hard enough. it fits well with the name scheme of the other toys on my opinion. second, what if his motive was initially to play music with the player, but the player messes up so the insane Stupendium, tries to "improve" the player by forcing him to play instruments throughout the chapter, before finally becoming impatient and ordering his men to tear him apart for his "disrespect for musical talent".
@@gagekelley5047 tbh im all for the having to play instruments part, because im a fan of games where music/rhythm is a main mechanic, but i think it'd be weirder/more memorable if there was some way the toys mangled their victims WITH the instruments. like idk about you but i have DEFINITELY thought a sousaphone could kill me back in my marching band days lol :P but yea alliterative name for sure. plot arc is interesting, the change of mindset from "I want to put on a show" to "I need to put on the BEST show" kinda reminds me of that painter from Bioshock? it's a good story ngl, that's why that part of bioshock is memorable lol
gd i feel like im being pretentious im sorry if thats how i come across, thats not my intention >_< im an artist and this is the only way i know how to respond to creative ideasss

But you also gotta appreciate the subtle points of comedy that go into these-
Like something about animated huggy looking so damn dissapointed/annoyed/disguisted when you high five his face instead of his hand is more hilarious to me then it has any right to be
Idk how to timestamp but I'm reffering to 2:22
huggy wuggy when you slap him in the face instead of high five him: My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
You slapped his customer service face right off
It took me like 17 views to catch it, but the bit at about 4:51 where the headless doll is trying to play the trumpet, and finally just shrugs... 😂😂
“Jeez, ever heard of hand-eye coordination?
Also this Oxygen guy is 1000% nailing the themes of your visions
Oxygen is a freakin' wizard.
he's kinda underated ngl
That was my favourite part! I thought I was the only one.
I thought it was so funny! He was just done with that red hand.
I loved that part as well, it's completely believable that he would be _so_ over it after the 20th time.
I know! It was so funny to me. Also the little "oh boy..."
I need to check out tom macdonald Since I really like the music from The Stupendium, and Leo!
Jonathan Young, Nathan Sharp, Aviators, Caleb Hyles, Or3o, theres so many UA-cam musicians that create amazing works of art better than almost anything found on the radio.
@@torazely gosh aviators is just so... He really is the best
Miracle of sound

Genuinely speechless, this is incredible. The way you’re able to perfectly replicate the atmosphere of every game you make a song about is insane. AND the song is catchy as hell as well. Wow. Also how the hell did you manage to do whatever you did at 2:37. That’s some professional level whatever you did there.
What about the headless body , the huggy wuggy that wraps around his neck , and the toy boxes , along with those points of articulation
I like how MOB Games not only allowed the Stupendium to be a part of their lore, they allowed his/their Huggy to come along, how nice! 😊
