It's a Dirty Job being a prospector in Western North Carolina. Research helps, but hard work pays off. Working this newly unearthed spot named the Two-Tone Prospect is starting to show all kinds of fun new minerals. Not only reaching deeper pockets but also looking deeper into each specimen to microscopic levels. More details and microscopic show and tell to look forward to this winter. This is how those beautiful gems in your collection are discovered or new discoverys are made in a hard rock mountain newly exposed in the high elevations of the Appalachian Mountains.

I seen some really nice mud included crystals come out of the Linville gorge area. I don't know the vein location but you can find pictures online.
