I've been watching all your videos.. you are the reason I want to visit. You have made desire to dig some of these. Love to dig in the dirt and unearth natural treasures.
Brother, I used to dig there back in the '80s with my uncle. Back then you put $1 in a coffee can on the little old ladies back porch and that was for one day. I have dug holes there big enough to put a Chevrolet in with a screwdriver. Got 75 lb one day. The bulk of them or not Jewel quality. But what a wonderful time I have spent there. I slept in the hole one night. I've been there in the snow. My best piece weighed 13 and a half pounds. I love your videos. I live in cabarrus county beyond Charlotte. Would like to go again sometime. Good luck in all you do!
Thank you for sharing your memories. If you sleep in a hole at Propst you are a digger. I would love to see some of your favorites. So much good corundum has worked its way out of the ground from there and still thankfully.
What an amazing place please send me info on how this works. I am a cowgirl from Ohio who loves rock hounding and adventure. Ty for letting ppl do this! And sharing the 🌎 s wonders and treasures! From one farmer to another God bless ya! 🙌
Great day, Graham. Thanks for posting, really enjoyed watching your technique. My sister and I are coming back to the farm in the next week or two. Nice to see he has opened up new areas. A new rockhounding season is upon us!
Everyone thinks you need to dig real deep to get them when they are attached to the roots. Sometimes the key is to slow down and have patience and let them come to you. Maybe we'll run into each other Thank you for your comment.
Hi there! It’s nice to see you talking to camera right at the start of your video! Just began watching the video...🤗Your boots look heavy at the halfway point of the video...🥾🥾enjoyed the birds tweeting 🦅thanks for tips on respecting the digging areas. Have a good weekend! 🥰.
I couldn't believe all the birds singing.in the recordings. I need to slow down and listen a little more. Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for you awesome comment.
lol the shot of the flooded boone mall cracks me up. ive always wanted to go kayaking in it as a joke but never made it over there when it was flooded.
@@HighCountryRocks hahaha thats definitely on the bucket list. I actually live over in Ashe and i was wondering if you had any suggestions as to where i could hunt for some gemstones? I panned around in a creek in Fleetwood where i work and found tons of garnets, but id love to move around a bit.
Hello. I really enjoy your channel.. i do not have Facebook… how can i get a hold of Ron the owner of Probst Farm? I would like to dig this Friday… keep up the amazing work..
This was fun, thanks for the trip. You have great corundum eyes! If our rock club from Springfield, Missouri ever heads your way would you want a job as guide? We are generous with our donations. 🙂
That is something I would love to do. I broke my heel and ankle so I will not be able to dig for the near future. I would definitely love to put anyone on a good experience and share my knowledge. Thank you for reaching out and I hope you find some amazing gems.
I'm very intrigued to know how you made your own homemade setup. Feel free to message me if you have Instagram same name HighCountryRocks I'd love to see some pictures and learn a little more.
My family came to Gatlinburg, Tn for thanksgiving from Alabama. Been coming up since the 70’s. I tried and tried to get my wife to drive over into NC to look for rubies and wouldn’t ride over with me. Man I was so disappointed.
I hope you are doing well. Let me know I would love to get together. I have a broken heel right now. PT starts this upcoming month and hopefully I can get back on my feet.
Join the Propst Farm Facebook page. The owner contact information is located on there. It is a reservation only dig . Summers are brutal so there is a lot less digging and the owner has to be around. So it is hit or miss. Spring and winter is the best the ground is soft. It is one of the most challenging digs in the summer .
Hi Graham 👋😃 I've just found your UA-cam Channel I'm New here, So Yes I'm a ROCK COLLECTOR "I LOVE ROCKS. Graham do you look for Arrowheads Indian Artifacts? Graham do you make Jewelry with some of the Stones you find? Graham do you wore wrap GemStones?

I hope we can make it work out for you. I wish the conditions were better though. We only get a few good digging windows throughout the winter.

The ground he opened in the last year and a half is too good to move on from though lol.
I hope you dig a mind blower 🤯

Zen frog at 20:22 perfectly captures the spirit of this place somehow.
Lol The Zen Frog. My buddy. He brings me good luck.
U have got some nice stones today

Only if we had a dollar every time a car flooded in that lot we would be rich! That would be an awesome kayaking trip. Urban yaking .

I'll be moving to NC in the next months - are people still able to visit and dig here? Great video!

Its worth all the hard work

Btw I have a homemade lapidary setup, if you want any rocks cleaned up or anything.
For sure I have plenty of material to work on. Let me know if you ever make it down this way.
I'm very intrigued to know how you made your own homemade setup. Feel free to message me if you have Instagram same name HighCountryRocks I'd love to see some pictures and learn a little more.

@@HighCountryRocks- I bought a crystal for like $3. I’d still like to dig. Also not sure it’s from NC.
Crystals preserve memories. Sometimes it's not all about the value or how much you pay it's the memory of how you obtained that specimen.
@@Tide12NC I’m sorry about that. Go anyway…
UV light makes them glow and I actually thought I had found a piece of metal lol
I love the UV side to rockhounding.
I still haven't made it over there. I want to very bad!!!
I hope you are doing well. Let me know I would love to get together. I have a broken heel right now. PT starts this upcoming month and hopefully I can get back on my feet.

Is Murphy,NC a good place to dig?
I have never prospected in Murphy N.C. I know there is a bunch of potential in the surrounding area.

I been finding sapphires and ruby
I know Google owns a bunch of property near this site. Where are you finding them?
Are there certain days or times that people can visit this location
Yes it is more a weekend summer thing. I can help you with the process if you would like.
Have you found any gem grade material at this location?
NE ahí al rubí al raz de la tierra y aquí no hay en donde yo vivo ... Bueno si hay piedritas pero no rubíes 😞
The gray one looks like Buck Creek material.
A lot of the material reminds me of Buck Creek. Got to love Corundum!
Are they still open for collecting?
We're is this place at again
@5:56 lol how did you find this clip? that person is tripping balls.
is it a woman? is it a man? knee high rubber boots, red tights. and a yellow rainjacket. masquerade mask.... a music festival perhaps? amazing.
That had to be a gnarly music festival. I can relate to the feeling after a day in the mud..
@23:38 a corundom that large should be prized, of any color.
They are 100%. TREASURE
How do I get the information to go there digging how do I make an appointment and get the address to come digging on the farm
Facebook Propst Farm page. After joining that you can get the owners contact to set up a reservation.
For sell? Sir
Hello how do I contact Ronald and make an appointment. Thank you
Do you have Facebook?
Are any of these facetable?
Sir What is the price of indian ruby
Idk I only deal with North Carolina Corundum.
@@HighCountryRocks okay thanks for your reply sir...🙏🙏🙏

I'll contact you in Instagram
Can I buy some roughs from you?
I don't have enough quality rough to sell. It is hard to come by the good color. Plenty of corundum though.
