Reading the website other States can join, townships, county, tribal, individuals from any state. Other government entities accepted once gold deposits are accepted. Decentralized gold.
This is a great idea. To make this a real game changer, Texas ideally would make this a gold backed stable coin that would be bankable, via debit cards and say things like PayPal. But more importantly, if it where possible to borrow and loan money based on this gold backed currency , it would be especially bullish for people wanting to hold gold, because it would give them a way to earn interest on their gold, while at the same time protecting them from inflation. For people borrowing the rates could be extremely low, say around 2% interest rate, because the lenders don’t need to worry about inflation Eating them alive while they lend their gold out. This is simply how money worked up until the 70s.
Regarding 3:25, the British Gold Sovereign coins have no monetary denomination or purity or weight stamped on them. This is because they are famous worldwide and people are supposed to recognize what they are as well as to know what their monetary denominations are. For example, the sovereign should have a nominal monetary denomination of £1. The double sovereign should have a nominal monetary denomination of £2. The quintuple sovereign should have a nominal monetary denomination of £5. The half sovereign should have a nominal monetary denomination of £½. The quarter sovereign should have a nominal monetary denomination of £¼. Their gold bullion values far exceed their nominal monetary denominations.

??You said that a hypothetical transaction in Texas using a U.S. silver eagle would likely allow for a 'spot price' valuation (rather than the $1 dollar marked on the coin) but that's pretzyel logic, as the 'spot price' is measured/calculated in U.S. fiat dollars! that's a meaningless closed loop! Neither the amount marked on the coin or the spot price tells us anything useful. A determination of value would have to be made against some other needful hard asset to determine it's worth, or trading value, say a gallon of fuel, or a box of .357 mag. shells, or 5lbs. of ground beef or loaves of bread. You can't measure the worth of an oz. of .999 silver by using an ever fluctuating fiat currency (which IS what 'spot price' is). That's precisely what thinking folks are wanting to move away from. The logic in calculating this way (or it's lack) is completely flawed. I don't understand how many people can't seem to make this connection in their heads!

Until a system is in place in which silver backed currency is common don't expect store owners to be COMEX brokers without taking a rake.

In regards to a Canadian fiat for example, Its interesting understanding the 2 different forms of fiats. The older Canadian fiat used to have a notation printed on the bank note that said, "pay unto bearer upon demand". What this meant essentially was it represented what gold represents today and was backed by gold. That has been removed from the notes and replaced by "this note is legal tender".
