Right on, right on!!! I'm an old guy, and have been stacking both monetary metals all my life. I am now retired, and using PMs to supplement my SS payments (not enough to live like I did when I was young and working) by selling a few ounces per quarter, as needed. Haven't touched my silver stash, yet (waiting for 50-100 plus, before slowly selling to continue my lifestyle). If 500 oz is top 1%, where would 7,500 oz put me; not as I care, as I've been buying since it was 2$/oz, and thousands of oz when at 8$ and 14$ per. Now, I'm scrapping-refining from flea market and estate sales, and accumulating couple hunfred oz/month. I went all in after I paid off my house, and am comletely debt free. Just curious, as I'm too old to give a shite about theories, since obviously, I made my decision, and am sitting back watching the rest of the world wake up to monetary reality.😂😊❤
@@richardchan367 That is a lot of silver. I have very little gold, 3 ounces. I have a few modest houses to rent. When i can draw SS in a few years. I may move to Panama. Low crime the kids still pray in schools. You can find an ocean front lot or condo for less than 100,000$. In the mountains of Boquete mostly English-speaking expats you need no heat or air. They use the dollar (stronger there) there is no taxes on imported American silver and gold. I collected mostly junk and silver eagles. I have a box or 2 of foreign stuff. Jackie relocation tour vids got me really interested, in Panama. We will be good:)

55 years old and am late to the game. I have been stacking for about 2 years and I am at 375 + oz. Just picked up another 5 10oz bars and 6 1996 Eagles. I have my base in bullion but I have gotten into Eagles Morgan's and smaller constitutional silver and fractional for bartering. I am hooked. I see the dollar failing and precious metals gaining. I also feel silver will out perform gold. I feel like the fiat dollar will fail and precious metals is the way to go. Stack for the future even if it's just an oz a paycheck, that's how a lot of us started. Much love

Constitutional Silver is an important addition. I used to Love Eagles and Morgans but they are easy for the Chinese to Counterfeit. I really like Brittanias. The have anti counterfeiting measures and are a much better quality product than Eagles they are proof like and they are cheaper
@@Dodgerblue7381-ey3ql the milk spot problem has kept me away from Britannia. Quarters are too small to fake and for the trained eye and ear it's easy to spot the real silver and one day it might be nice to have the small denomination.

You are correct but in I believe the 1980's the mining ratio used to be 14 to 1 and changed overnight to 7.1 to 1. That was a wealth transfer just like when they took silver out of our coinage.

i live very modest no notes. i am saving silver for a retirement supplement. I do not need much. Pre 1965 fractional USA silver is my favorite. Stacking silver from your country is best. It is all good.

Gold is number one for sure. However...silver price increase percentage will be much higher than gold. I recommend buying silver instead of waiting to save up enough to buy an ounce of gold. Do not buy fractional gold, too expensive. Buy silver and trade up to gold as you build up your stack. Silver is consumed, destroyed, or lost. Gold in the world is fairly stable. Silver mine output is decreasing. No new big silver deposits finds have not been made.

There are a couple fractional gold coins that are good to target as they can be had at or very near spot.
@@darrenmoore1334 I recommend silver. If you plan on saving up for gold over time, the world could change overnight, and you will be stuck with fiat. Buy metal whenever you can. It will be in your hand even if the world changes overnight. Trade that silver along with cash if needed for gold later down the road. DO NOT buy more than you can afford in the short term. You will lose money if you have to sell your metal soon after buying. UNLESS the prices rise over short period of time that is a possibility.
I would say the top 1% number would be much higher, thus making all corresponding numbers higher. Most stackers and collectors I know have much more then 500oz of silver. Maybe it's just the people I've met. If anyone reads this how do you feel.

An easy way to figure out the current mining ratio is to go to US Debt clock. Go down the right bottom corner where it says precious metals and click it. There is where you'll find the latest reported amounts mined and recycled. Over the years I have divided the silver amount by the gold amount that has come out to an average of 7.5 - 8 to 1 ratio. This will have an effect on prices sooner or later.

New stacker here. I got a bit more involved in 2022. I now have a modest 80 ozs. Good mix of small bars, rounds, and constitutional silver. 100 oz is my next goal then 200, 500, so on..

Please dont take this the wrong way, (not saying it in a bad way or trying to compete) but as someone else that has been stacking awhile that is not hard to do!!!!😃 I. honestly didn't realize how much I had until I started putting it in ammo cans, and thats when I realized how heavy this stuff is, as well as how much I had. I dont count it, I am just buying every two weeks, and put it in a safe location.

Silver is actually far less available as it is consumed and post consumption not worth recovering at current prices.
The historical gold silver price ratio is 1to12 and everything will return to its mean in time.
Gold at £1850 should place silver at £155.
I wish silver was worth that now.

There’s no doubt that silver will soon be considered much more rare and valuable than it is currently. With India having bought up around six hundred million ounces in the last 2.5 years, with plans to build a solar farm the size of Paris, and the mighty country of china finally going green and getting into solar as well, you can guarantee that the amount of silver that would require would drain the market pretty dry. China has been accumulating so much silver. They’re not even being honest about how much but it will be a lot more than they are saying. They’ve even cleverly priced their silver around 4 dollars higher than the rest of the world because they know people will buy big silver all around the world and sell it to China at a profit. What a way to gather the world’s silver. They don’t care about paying the extra because when they’ve accumulated as much as they can they will reevaluate the price to suit them, and they might as well value it high seeing as they own most of it. The BRICS nations are trying to buy the lot.
And now we have Elon buying a silver mine because he needs all the silver he can get for his space X program, Tesla batteries, and now he wants to get into to solar panels also.
All this going on while the dollar is on the brink of collapse. Panic buying for silver is inevitable, and when it’s the public vs industry to buy enough silver to stay afloat, we’ll be experiencing a worldwide noticeable shortage.
Once the world sees the repercussions of a silver shortage they’ll be no more price manipulation.
The truth behind digital silver and gold will be revealed when traders try to cash in all at once and realise that most of it doesn’t exist. Then we’ll see a significant increase in price.
With demand outweighing supply right now we will be seeing a huge spike in it’s value and it probably won’t be as far away as you’d think.

If you buy pre owned silver coins, they are VAT exempt (there's still a huge markup, but they are usually cheaper than brand new (exceptions can be blamed on numismatic coin collectors))

Silver as a utility will increase,hospitals use for anti microbial,solar panels are not being recycled,missiles(where they are launched) never recovered ,despite the hundreds of pounds in war per misspelling. All the batteries used in your electric cars and electronics. All not being fully recovered,even though we are not pulling enough out of the ground. Russia,china,India and others have bought metric tons of the metal as well as gold,no one fully knows the holdings.

Gold YES, Silver NO. I live in the UK where legal tender gold coins, Sovereigns and Britannias, are free of all taxes. Silver bullion deals come with a 20% VAT liability. Sums it up.

Silver has been in deficit for 5 years, it is not in abundance. You will see more movement in the next 3 years as inventories run dry, % better than gold, as seen in the latest rise of both metals, silver up 30% gold 15%
Silver deficit is a real thing, gold is just there doing its thing being stored, as silver is being thrown away into devices and then into the waste dumps, as folk replace cars phones etc.

These figures seem crazy low. 500 oz is just a monster box. Just shows how a silver short squeeze could happen when the these figures and actually stakes are so low.
Also doesn’t 50% of silver get physical destroyed when used or manufactured ie why the historic ratio is put at 1-10 to gold. And that happens yet again when and if it can be recycled.
I must admit, I thought the numbers would be higher.

All I will say is a certain percentage of my savings has gone into silver and I’ve been earning regular paychecks for over 35 years now.
The top 1% sounds either extremely high or extremely low depending on how long you’ve been saving.
I would be interested in learning how many ounces, or percentage, of savings per year would be considered wise and reasonable amount to save.
Also, once you hit that 1% is it time to call it quits and stop getting silver?

718 ozt makes me silver rich, guess 😅! I also have about 7 ozt of gold too and it’s almost as valuable as the silver however, carry the gold in a little bag on my dog tag chain around my neck and the silver is like an anchor! I have to carry it in three separate bags!😂
And I started last spring when the first bank failed in silicon valley and I had money in my savings and I saw the silver and gold exchange right across the street so I bought gold,silver and platinum! I am now my own bank. When I need some money, first convert my platinum,then gold but I have never let any silver go! I’m holding out for the inevitable correction in the price of silver which is undervalued by ten times or more.

I have 73,000 ounces of constitutional silver that my grandmother gave me. She got it from the banks at face value in the eatly 60's. Since then, I've been stacking and have saved at least 20% of my income since 1993 and have over 70,000 ounces. I used to stack mostly gold but traded it for silver on March 18, 2020 when the GSR was 128.75 to 1. I believe that the private western central banks such as the FED, IRS, BIS, Black Rock, Vanguard, State Street... will all end on the first day that Trump is back in office which will bring the world back onto a gold and silver standard. When that happens, precious metals will skyrocket in value overnight. I also believe that the ratio will also change that very same day to a 7 to 1 ratio. If you don't hold it, you don't own it.

me thinks those percentages are skewed in the same way that the "average life expectancy has increased since the 1900s" where the average life expectancy was so low because of the infant mortality rate, not that once you reached 50 you were weren't living as long..... so because i gave my 1 year old an ounce of silver for their 1st birthday they technically are now a stacker which when averaged with my stack puts me just below the 5% mark ... however comparing my actual stack to true stackers i'm probably in the maybe 50% area IF i'm lucky

Why is it to be top one percentage of gold holder is over 400 ounces gold to be top 1 percent and yet only 500 ounces silver to be top 1 percent, that donest make logical sense.

At these very cheap rock bottom prices if you don't hold silver equal to your body weight in kilograms and gold equal to your number of years in ounces you are kidding yourself to be a stacker. In 1970s gold went up 26x and silver nearly 50x. Good luck everyone.
Unfortunately some people can’t afford this much so it’s better to have some than none.
