Looking forward to seeing how your build goes. Building cars is fun. I am several years into building a 70 Camaro, LSX engine, Speedtech suspension, mini tubs, tunnel work, quarters, tail panel, trunk drops, firewall etc. Finally through most of the metal work and starting to reassemble. They sure take a lot of work but worth it all the way. Good luck!
Come on, put an old school motor in it and a manual. Everybody puts those overrated junk yard motors in them and ruins the purpose of having a classic car
I’m gonna have to agree !! Side step the LS and go more barn find likely . And pro touring is not pro touring imo without a stick !! Keep coming with the videos tho !! Love it
I’m glad that technology has come around were you can restore these cars with the new technology, old school is what it is limited horse power, bad suspension, we can now enjoy these cars as new, these LS motors are unbelievable in what you can do with them, totally more dependable, there just more computer based which is a good thing, as far as injectors and electronic ignition, I was hating on em at first, till I got to understand them their actually easy to work on, an I’m 61 yrs old an always had a fascination with wiring, just my two cents on these LS based motors, anyone I know that has actually done an LS swap right, loves em
@@mikewozawski1634 not really, I’ve done them both the first initial start may be a little more with the wiring harness and computer , but I’ve had no problems out of mine, but even, their still worth the dependability they have don’t know if you have ever done any research on the 5.3, 6.0 blocks, but their very impressive cylinder walls is so much thicker for boring out, a lot of stuff to consider, there heads have a high rate of flow, way more than you can get out of a set of stock old school heads, I mean as far as money goes they are probably a little more pricey than old school ,but for what ya get out of it ,it’s worth it,
Rust requires three chemicals in order to form: iron, oxygen, and water. The clear coat cuts out the supply of oxygen and moisture to continue the chemical reaction process of rusting.
Does the 4L60-E transmission require a different crossmember-not sure why you said you weren't going to need the stock one? I have a 4L60E from a wrecked '96 collector's edition Corvette that is in the garage next to my '69 Camaro RS convertible (the Camaro is matching numbers 327 automatic, except for the TH350 that's now in it). The tranny swap has been a project that I have been waiting for several years to start because I haven't figured out the best way to make it shift, so as much detail as you can give on that particular part of the build will be appreciated!
Great channel bro. I have what appears to be a factory tuxedo black 69 Camaro body that came with dual exhaust as it does have the plate on the frame rail but the vin and trim tags are missing. Just wondering if you have any ideas of how I could get it registered and back on the road? It does still have the hidden vin and I believe it could be a valuable car
Backyard Barn Finds Hello Friend that Chevrolet Camaro, with the vinyl top roof that was trapping the moisture in the first place , that was causing it to rust out which is a another reason i never like vinyl top cars because of that major problem !! So are your going to fix all the metal work on the roof and treat it with some type of rust protective and coat it , first before you put another vinyl top on it so , the same problems don't come back again for the roof !! Just want to know your process on it !!!
I’m a newcomer to channel but your project makes me see that I may have overdone my own 69. I’m waiting on engine now. It’s a plain coupe. Was a v8 powerglide on the column. Will have 496, 400, 12 bolt. I replaced front fenders (mistake), 1 door shell, door skin, quarters from the top line and patched floors. Overall it was better than yours underneath. I’m ready to see yours come together.
The motor for this car is fully rebuilt.. BTR stage 3 cam, ls7 lifters, new trays, rods, springs, 243 heads, ls6 intake, bottom end is stock internals, f body oil pan... paid $1500 for full ls6 block head to toe + harness.. total after all said and done i have about 6k in it..
Don’t ever ask a metal man if he thinks it needs a full floor lol, he’ll always say yes if it’s over 50% rusted so much easier to put a full floor in, an makes a much nicer job.going to be a nice car
i would not discount the 10 bolt rearend . the one i have is stout . with 450 HP. it came from a 71 Nova though and it is a better unit than that one .
If you want to cut the value of a vintage bicycle in half, go ahead and repaint it! Same thing with cleaning coins or refinishing antique furniture, if you have ever watched Antiques Roadshow.
The car has no existing drivetrain, so its not as if the collectability is going to be a factor either way. So for a driver, I would opt for economy and reliability of a modern powerplant, sans the emissions junk.

This is gonna be a killer series!
Looking forward to the build.

I agree but at the same time cost money to build and maintain those motors.

This is gonna be sick. Kudos man, look forward to seeing it
Awesome !
Those quarters what a hack job.😅😊🎉❤
The quarters should be addressed since they are putting a complete floor pan and mini tubs.
👍👍👍 cool deal
Looking forward to this, especially move slow with lots of details. Cheers!
they replaced the quarter panels and didnt do anything to prevent rust...lol...genius, pure genius.
Doesn't patina still rust under the clear coat? Never understood the point of it.
Rust requires three chemicals in order to form: iron, oxygen, and water. The clear coat cuts out the supply of oxygen and moisture to continue the chemical reaction process of rusting.
Patina = $$$ for something that's worth $
Roughly how much you spend in "pieces"? Love what you did in not complicating the build with lots of custom stuff.
cool car awesome patina!
Awesome video…
Cant wait to see this build
Nice car man had one myself years ago completely restored it I’ll be watching
Backyard Bard Finds friend so keep up the great work on this Chevrolet Camaro Project i Subscribe to your channel 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😃😃💪💪💪👍👍👍👍
Not another ugly patina exterior! That
Ol girl deserves better!
I like what you doing good job

can you send me pictures of the car? info@backyardbarnfinds.com

Hey Parker, can I pick your brain about an issue with a 69 camaro subframe? Just wondering if you have any insight. Thanks
How will you fix the holes in the roof? Will you replace the whole roof or patch it?
Surprise you didn't go with the Moser 12 bolt?
Love the channel! When can we get more updates for the 69? Thanks!
I have a few more videos down south this week then will head back north to finish the build, thanks for asking!
This is going to be a great build.
I just bought a 1978 trans am, black with black interior, can you tell me anything special about it? Or isn't it old enough and still not worth it?
Great project. Stoked for the next episode.
Have you ever heard the song " bitchin camaro" by the dead milkmen?
Interesting tune.
I will after today lol 🤘
Gonna be a sweet ride. What was the final number on the car? Had to ask
Have you rebuilt any other motors, or are you just finding them?
The motor for this car is fully rebuilt.. BTR stage 3 cam, ls7 lifters, new trays, rods, springs, 243 heads, ls6 intake, bottom end is stock internals, f body oil pan... paid $1500 for full ls6 block head to toe + harness.. total after all said and done i have about 6k in it..
You wanna impress some people?.... Make it Chirp and go sideways hitting 2nd gear, oh & maybe 3rd if ya can pull it off! 😎
We need an update and look at your shop and builds please.
Can do 👍
Parker keep up the good work and format. This build is gonna be great to follow. Something I would do myself.
Check out Coffe Walk. There are some Great Shelby's on there
coffee walk sucks...Dennis Collins is a scavenger...nothing more...he "buys low and sells high"...just another car dealer.

Ok
Have fun with it
I'd do the same thing
Enjoy
That 4L60E is only good for about 400-450 hp if it’s built with performance parts,
i would not discount the 10 bolt rearend . the one i have is stout . with 450 HP. it came from a 71 Nova though and it is a better unit than that one .
Another Barn find channel. LOL! How many old rusty cars can we find this year?
I liken a patina 69 Camaro makes you a blastfermer
🏆Very cool🏆"69" 🍀Get R Done😎✌️
to bad your not painting the car I would have watched it to its completion.
painting cars is not in style any longer...Patina tells a much better story...fully restored cars are BORING.
If you want to cut the value of a vintage bicycle in half, go ahead and repaint it! Same thing with cleaning coins or refinishing antique furniture, if you have ever watched Antiques Roadshow.
Why not just finish the gold one?
I really want full chassis under that car
patch floor hole's but not hole's in the roof ? not really my style.
not really your car, either...
@@SesameStreetRacingChannel thank god..
Richie looks like one of those crazy dudes that does awesome work..but i wouldn`t hangout with him
Put 427 in it, come on man 💀
Man you gotta paint the car that patina on it looks like shit.its no good
I already got one painted..
That is a complete waste
Argh I hate patina builds .... 😂
Quit watching as soon as you said ls swap 👎
You can't argue with the power/reliability of an LS...Put one in my '55...it makes power...and the car is still an old school looking machine...
The car has no existing drivetrain, so its not as if the collectability is going to be a factor either way. So for a driver, I would opt for economy and reliability of a modern powerplant, sans the emissions junk.
And yet you hung out to write a sad little comment. No one cares if you're watching. Get lost
