Knowing it is an RS/SS ABSOLUTELY changes the value of the car...even without docs...If I am buying a car like this...I WILL DEFINITELY pay more money for it...There are still people out there who value owning a "real" RS/SS.
The family got it as a neglected orphan. At 10 years old she was close to being junkyard bound. Several generations are loving on that car , pounding, wrenching, welding, cursing, painting and finally driving and do burn outs and decades later another generation is going to breathe life back into her. Give her what ever she wants. All girls want that new and shiny. She wants that shiny 2021 ls .She's getting a make over. Not a history lesson.
PLEASE give us an update on the 71 Road Runner! PLEASE. I don't know if the buyer will be someone that would let us watch it's resurrection from the dead. But it's such a GREAT from NEW candidate to be put back as it once was when it rolled off the assembly line way back in 1971!! That would be so AWESOME to see!
Parker, what an awesome video. Grass roots, old style, a couple classic muscle cars, down to earth owners, great information and no modern reality TV crap. Keep up the great work.
I commend that gentleman for being honest and saying he's never gonna fix the RR. Most ppl would swear they are "gonna start on it next year" 🤣🤣🤣. I hope somebody gives him a good price for the car.
Thank you so much for the Help Identifying this Camaro! Nate is my Cousin. Back in the day My Dad painted this car! I grew up around this car, Jeff and My Dad were best friends. It had been questioned by many its validity for years, I may have had my doubts at times but after cleaning the literal crap out of it, We started to really get in there and see it wasn't a clone. I've climbed through barns and scaled walls for parts for this car. Thanks again, Amazing channel, I smashed that 👍🏻 and subscribe immediately last night.
I had a 71 Satellite Sebring in B5 blue, full black vinyl top, drove it daily. Had to sell her because life happened. I named her Claire, sure do miss her. If I could afford that Roadrunner, I'd definitely make an offer. I know whoever buys her will give her the love she deserves.
Just want to compliment you on your channel. The amount of information is off the charts. I go into nerd overload watching this stuff . Thanks and be safe out there 😎
I’m so glad a young man like yourself is out there keeping the history alive, because it does seem most kids today don’t see the history and love behind these cars. And my son has ZERO interest in cars like I do ….. wonder if he’s really the mailman’s kid !!😂🤣 My stepdad had a buddy I’m pretty sure he still had his original 69 RS/SS car , my buddy bought a 68 restored mod .
I really enjoy the stories of the cars. I think they should always stay with the vehicle. My 53 gmc truck was my father's he got it in payment for building a steel building for someone. He gave it to me for my 18th birthday. That was 32 years ago. She still runs like new.
I agree with the restoration options for the RS/SS, but before restoring that RR, I would love to see it just cleaned up and running, that bench seat with pistol grip is definitely rare, if factory. 👍
I wasn't expecting to see a 77 Dodge Aspen R/T ! I used to have a 77 it was black with gold graphics 360 2bbl 3spd 727 t-flite suregrip, buckets , console shift, white interior. I currently own a 1980 Aspen R/T a 79 Aspen R/T. I sure was diggin that blue 71 Road Runner it was a really cool barn find!
Worth more with the proper SBC than the imitation one. Those cars are best with the small block. The truck engine is,,, well a truck engine! Interesting research on the car. I have a nice warm shed to work on the Roadrunner. Pity I am in Australia!
this was awesome! thanks for the tagalong! wicked fun seeing different places and the machine shop was cool. BTW, did I hear you say something about a Yenko and in Maine? 🤔
Man I’d put this back to stock because even Rs ss 350 cars are now getting up there in value. The yellow on yellow hounds tooth is very rare. That 71’ car is awesome as well.
Very nice Roadrunner!! I didn't think for a second it would be a 4 gear!! When he opened the passenger side door and I saw the pistol grip shifter I literally heard a cash register going wild!!!
No, do not "LS Swap" the world. Make it old school Chevrolet small block as it was originally. 1971 Roadrunner with the VIN for the win: R for Satellite/Belvedere line, M for Medium price class, 23 for two door hardtop, N for 383 CID V8 with four barrel, high performance, 1 for 1971 model year, R for Windsor Ontario Canada assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Windsor plant opened in 1928 and still operates today. With the tag you can (barely) brag: N41 for dual exhaust, R11 for AM radio, 2 watts, V6W for White longitudinal stripes, END for end of sales codes, B5 for True Blue exterior paint, U for USA specification vehicle, 26 for 26" radiator, E65 for 383 CID V8 with four barrel, high performance, approximately 300 HP, D21 for four speed manual transmission, J45 for hood tie down pins, among other codes. You were too far away from the tag to read the rest.
22:26 So twice in his interview the Mopar "K.G. Engines" Engine builder guy says that the CI of the engines is larger than the designation of the actual numbers. As in the 383 is a 480CI the 426 is 472CI. Now I don't know if that's the way Dodge did things back in the day but I didn't think it was like that. I'm thinking he's bored out the cylinders and brought them up for better GO GO time! LOL. But I really don't have a clue if that's the case as I'm far from being a Mopar guy.
The 71 RR is very restorable. Lots of unknowns with it and the price if entry will be high. Have to see those floors and if the engine turns over. Its still going to be expensive if he has a shrewd negotiator in his corner.
The funny thing is, the guy was actually considering $3000 for the roadrunner. My God… There are people out there that will pay $10,000 or $15,000 cash right now…
If you want to do another good Mopar video...... You should come down to Newport News, Virginia and check out the 1969 Super Bee that's been parked inside of "Bobby Burchers electrical" company garage since 1978! The car is literally like brand new! Still got keystone mags with bias ply tires, hijacker air shocks, and a bumper sticker that reads "Suffolk Raceway.....Quarter mile concrete style"! 😉👍
Ps… do you think, as all the early mopars have been swallowed up, that my 73 roadrunner is an upcoming collectible? It’s a 440… auto, originally a 400 but have paperwork showing a warranty swap engine, date coded 75. Was bronze, now plum crazy with photos before and after . Lots of paperwork, including build sheet. I paid 32 k Australian dollers 9 years ago. Very good shape, running, registerd , still is. Beautiful looking car. Solid as. What’s your opinion young man? And yes, all tags, body stamps are correct. Regards, David, Australia. 🙌👍
Estate Lawyer: “Your long lost great uncle has left you an X eleven car.” Me: “Really?? Awesome! Is it an SS, or maybe even a COPO???” Estate Lawyer: “Huh?? It’s a Citation, buddy. You gonna come pick it up or what?!”
Backyard; I’d have to talk to him but my little brother has a perfect 68 Roadrunner and 69 DTO in his garage. They are not “barn finds” per-say but both were made perfect trying to use all original factory parts… So many people are looking for original “Superbee” cars and I believe 1970 was their lowest production year. That cars got to be worth a mint!
Hey !!! That road runner is worth way way more then $3000 !!!! I'm interested!!!! Of course for way more then that !!! Please messe me back if even we codont make s deal I'm more then happy to help give you guys a correct value of that csr !!!!!
@VerifiedVIPMember I had to phone the dude, awesome guy, they are getting in touch with mopars5150 so they will likely get the car and pay them a fair price. and likely another video on the car from their channel
So how much did the 1971 Roadrunner go for? I have been looking for one for a couple of years now. I was late finding this video... I would have put in a good bid on it.
Back in 78 I wanted to buy a 69 Z but it was know around town by the Police so my dad wouldnt let me get it. Same exterior color combo as this one. Yellow with Black vinvl top but with black interior. Beautiful car. Wanted $2000 for it (not a mark on it) What I wouldnt give...
Some ppl are asking why it was sitting since '75. That's just what happened to some gas guzzling muscle cars in the mid 70s during the gas crisis. Then SOME found their way out of hiding in the 80s when gas got cheaper
Base 71 Roadrunner was about mid 3’s new and over 14K were built. This things been sitting 49 yrs. After using it for 4yrs? If the engine isn’t seized a compression check is in order, but I’d be suspicious sitting that long. How’s the body/frame even when garaged can rust.
I don't agree with and LS Swap unless you go full restomod. Does he have the muncie 4spd and which one? What's wrong with a crate 350 dressed to look OE?
Man, what a breath of fresh air to see a young guy showing a grass-roots style video on a couple classic cars. Keep up the fine work.

@@Sir.Veza_truth , leave that to the non- RS/SS Camaros.

This young man always impresses me with his extensive knowledge of old cars.
It was cool to hear you explain what this Camaro is and what supports it. Great video.
I commend that gentleman for being honest and saying he's never gonna fix the RR. Most ppl would swear they are "gonna start on it next year" 🤣🤣🤣. I hope somebody gives him a good price for the car.
Thanks Parker !! Your a Fine young Man and a true well spring of Car knowledge!!!! Appreciate your videos !!! True Barn Find HUNTER you are sir
Those are some cool cars. Crazy to think there are still so many barn finds still out there, but they are!
Love this show. Reminds me of the car version of the old episodes of This Old House. Dudes full of muscle car information

Had a 72 B5 blue sattalight Sebring. 318. Put air grabber hood on 4 Craig ears. So cool sorry I sold it
I have a friend who has owned a '71 Road Runner exactly like this one since the 1980's.
DAMN, that Camero would had been SWEET when it rolled out the factory.
I guess I'm backwards because I would love a yellow muscle car. Yellow with black stripes is a sweet look.
I would just love to have this 71 RR, WISH I HAD A STACK OF jEFFERSONS. Cheers from Alberta Canada.

Wonder if the Mopars 5150 guys would be interested in that roadrunner??
Mopar 5150 will buy that asap. I would too for the right price
Year One should be able to source the absolute best access to top quality fenders.
I hope that the car will get restored to its former glory ..

I would say both those motors had stroker cranks and an over bore to achieve the displacement numbers he quoted.
20K car all day long. I had a Satellite Sebring Plus in the same colors and year. I would love to buy this car!

Regarding the Yellow 69 Camaro RS SS, there's a photo of it in a field with standard rear tail lights, not RS
Painted yellow with a black stripes
69 Camaro, my favorite muscle car
they also made a super coup in 76
Seen a old woman driving a rs ss convertible maroon with white interior at my local legion also 350 4 speed
I’d say $15k seems reasonable in the current condition
somebody please buy that roadrunner quick
Not the coolest of models, but they deserve a resto all day long.😎
Watch that movie
that mopar is a 15-20K car.
I have a 71 with a bench seat 4-speed actually and I had that same number (in my head) in that condition, maybe abit more

A lot of people are interested in the Road Runner
I would love to get into contact with the roadrunner owner ,my dad had a 71 roadrunner back in the 80s, he wrecked it, and has been wanting one since
Yeee Yeee 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
For cars that people couldnt really afford back then they really abused these muscle cars in a short period of time.
YeLL'OH!!! JACKET & GUT!!!
DAY'TON'YA YELLa!!! Get u $OME OF THAT!
Send that RR to live a good life in SoCal. 20k cash.
So how much did the 1971 Roadrunner go for? I have been looking for one for a couple of years now. I was late finding this video... I would have put in a good bid on it.
