  • A video on how to Connect up an Amp Sim to your Real Guitar Speaker Cab. I tried to go as in Depth as possible to Explain how to connect it all up. I've then Slapped a Room Microphone on to Record the Result, Think of this more as a Proof of Concept than a Tone Demo.

    Thanks for the video, Mike. I'm now running Guitar Rig 7, and I have wanted to run through my 4X12 cabinet for some time. I used to have a Peavey 120/120 Classic power amp in my rack eons ago (took up 4 rack spaces), which had 6L6 tubes. I would love to have one of those to run through. But I'm seeing and reading that solid state is preferred over tubes? I'd think the tubes would work great and get you some nice feedback when desired.

    • @mikemitchell7529
      @mikemitchell7529  4 дні тому

      In sure what you have will still work great! The only reason I suggest solid state over tube power amp is that these plugins normally have a tube power amp simulation on as well.

      Di boxes have so much jargon it's hard to tell what they do even with a lengthy description in front of you. It seems to be used mostly if you run a lot of cables over a long distance, the sound gets diminished and ground loop humming can happen and that's where the box comes in. Personally, I just run a 6' cable directly into my audient id14 interface with no signal loss or unwanted noise issues so I have no use for one. But if you're say in a studio with long wires going to different rooms or have a home studio setup like that then yeah, definitely

    Hello there. Good job! I was looking for this a long time and you showed it cristal clear. But you missed to show the cabinet/Joyo wire; that is, from where the cable came from the cabinet. Below you wrote: "Finally you could get an active speaker cab which can create its own power. Laney, Friedman and Line 6 etc all have these." Sorry, but as I am a newbie I could not grasp what you mean by "active speaker cab". Also, I do not have a cab, but a Create amplifier. Is it possible to plug in the Joyo to the amp input? Thanks.

    • @mikemitchell7529
      @mikemitchell7529  2 роки тому

      Hi Thanks for watching! Sure, to answer your questions
      1. You plug in a speaker cable from the back of the joyo zombie to the input on the back of the speaker cabinet. This speaker input is on the back of the guitar cabinet
      2. Active speaker cabs have their own volume and power out put on their own without being needed to be powered by an amplifier(such as the joyo zombie). If you were to get one of these, you could go straight from the interface to the input of active speaker cabs. The speaker cab I have in the video, is called a passive cab and needs an amplifier (like the joyo zombie) to power it
      3. No don't plug the joyo into another amps input, you would damage both. Check the back of create amplifier, does it have an input jack that says "return". If it does, you should still be able to do this.

    • @joseimiranda
      @joseimiranda 2 роки тому

    Hi, i want to try this rig, but what is the reason behind solid state over tube (valve) amps or power amps? also i use a volt 276, would the moniter out also work?

    • @mikemitchell7529
      @mikemitchell7529  Рік тому +1

      Hi the reason I suggest Solid state over tube is because alot of the plug-ins have a simulation of a power section already. If you have a tube amp only, don't worry it will still work, it's just a solid state power amp will be more neutral so you can tinker woth power amp settings on the plugin. Hope that helps
