- A moderately easy walk upto the 'Secret' Buttermere Infinity Pool and back, although this walk can be extended by heading upto Fleetwith Pike, or to see either of the 2 bothy's that are a little further up.
The best place to park is Gatesgarth Farm car park, postcode CA13 9XA. At time of writing, it was £4 for a 24 hour period, which means it is also an ideal place to park if you want to camp in the area.

We were there all last week too celebrating out 42nd wedding anniversary, brilliant sunny first day (Monday), which it looks like this was filmed on and we were about 8 miles away in Whinlatter Forest. Shame it rained the rest of the week but we still had a blast. We nearly went to Buttermere on one of the days as it is one of Mrs Metalmans favourite walks, so would have been funny if we had bumped into you. I have always climbed Fleetwith Pike straight up the nose and so many false summits it's unreal but I may try your path next time. I saw on Instagram you had some creep spying on you, which is a shame, so I hope it did not spoil your day, as the place you picked for a dip and the views you had were stunning. Great video again and its nice that ive actually been to the location your videoing from! 🙂 I adore Buttermere and have stayed there a few times doing the surrounding fells. I have never though took the time out to check the pools out although I have walked on the left hand path ascending to Dubbs Hut. So thanks to your video thats is now on my to do this for this year. Sorry to see your swim got cut short, very annoying and freakish as you mentioned. You certainly did the right thing with no one else being about. Hope it didnt ruin your stay in Buttermere too much
Ahhhh amazing, you’ll find these next time no problem then, you can also cross the waterfall at the top (quite easily) if you wanted to go further and didn’t want to turn around. Yes I’m always a bit in 2 minds but I didn’t let it spoil the day at all, so that’s all good 😁

I live in the Scottish Borders and either side of our village we have two rivers, which in the summer people wild swim in, it is a bit awkward if you meet a single woman, but I have my trusty dog Maisy with me which makes me less intimidating. However a cheery hello is oaky and I'm on my way. I do hope your experience has not put you off, but you did the right thing and cut short your swim. Ahhh big Dave, that is lovely. Yes I can feel for men on their own in these situations too.. but I try and be pleasant say hi and like you said they go on their way and all is good. To sit and watch someone swim and then ignore when spoken to is a little bit suspect but I was fine :)

I really enjoyed the pool further up so it didn’t spoil it for me. I said hi, and that was enough for him to give me the silent treatment .. sometimes it’s not worth it. Do what you feel is right and leave. Still had an amazing day! 😁

@@barefoot_ventures for sure. I was in a pool below Glaramara the other week. Must have been 10ft deep, crystal clear and refreshingly COLD. Such a great thing to do whilst out and about walking or camping

Beautiful walk and thank you for the video. Such a shame it was spoiled by that man. I think that is more than an unwritten rule that you don’t watch people getting changed. I’m sure there is a law of voyeurism for such things 🙁
