  • Athena's first mountain biking experience. 8 months old Belgian Malinois in training.
I am currently researching a correct harness for my dog to use while running or mountain biking to prevent any possible neck injuries down the road. In this video I used wide collar and elastic leash while maintaining slow speeds.

What a beautiful creature she is! Prancing through the forest like a Deer! Luv it.

A Malinois needs more exercise than your average triathlete! 😸

My border collie and I are just relaxing after a similarly snowy hour long ride. After many years and an earlier crazy fit Australian Shepard I found attaching 5 metre retractible Flexi through a fanny pack around my waist to a regular neck collar is way better than that too loose leash you were using because it seldom hangs up. My dogs never have had a neck injury in 15 years of skate skiing or Mountain biking. I some times use a chest harness on her but it hinders her more. Teaching your dog to know Gee her from her Haw and the meaning of behind really helps.

I’ll give the retractable leash a try! Thanks for the tips!

I have a trail dog too here in California and I don’t think I would survive a bike ride with her on the leash….🥴🙈
