Back in the 90's I lived in an apartment down a small street off the main shopping drag. Woke one morning to the sound of a busker playing the full version of this. Around 5 yrs later I picked up a classical guitar and a few guitar books and this was the first song I learnt to play. Always reminds me of that guy playing it. Sure it's supposed to be played quicker but prefer a slower tempo.

@@nielsvanderploeg2908 The real and original name of the piece is "Romance", (accenting the "a" as you would would in proper Spanish speaking) although along the years it received many translations and variations like the one quoted on this video.

I've been able to play this for awhile but I thought I'd mention this. I have a mostly Spanish bred Arabian horse and he was terrified of my guitar when he first saw and heard it.
I began to play this piece and he instantly settled and was then fine with anything else I played on the guitar.
I'm not superstitious or anything, but I found it really weird!

Everyone in Metallica got inspiration from classical (especially Cliff Burton). He had a few notes with the harmonics that also sounded like the intro to "Sanitarium".
You got that right. With so many musicians sooner or later we're all going take something from some where else
Peeps, it is a classical piece titled Romance. No disrespect to the guitarist here, but search on UA-cam for more faster renditions, if you're so inclined.
Remember, its Spanish guitar. So this is called "Nada Mas Importa"
I studied classical guitar in college for one year and my teacher never let me choose my songs. I always wound up with pieces that were pretty much just a scale or super avant garde stuff that as much as I try, I still can't get into.This piece however, was one I always wanted to learn! Very nice! You play it in a slow pace which makes this piece sound completely different when playing it in faster tempo. I always learned to play this piece in much faster tempo. Really like the intro by the way!

I've played the violin for 10 years but I stopped it about 2 years ago. Finally I missed the music and decided to start playing the guitar. It is great fun and I think I am having a little bonus because of the violin. So it is easier to learn for me, I think.
