what a beautiful piece played by a beautiful soul. I mean such a powerful piece. Just makes me tear up every time. And I finally learned it, thanks to you!
Best guitar teacher on youtube - no unnecessary talk just gets down to the piece and works you through it. I can now play this first part and will now tackle the 2nd part. Thank you.
LOL! I should have learned this one before Lagrima, but that's okay. My finger tips are like wood learning on steel strings. Ultimate Karate fingers. Thanks Simon for these great tutorials!
Thank you very, very much. I learned from another UA-cam video and was taught incorrectly. I very much appreciate that you teach it the right way. P.S. I love your recordings, as well.
Really enjoyed learning this , This afternoon . i can only seem to pluck with one finger though , instead of 3 , but i will keep practising and my fingers are sore , as new strings etc . cant wait to buy an acoustic amp . wow it sounds very impressive :) x picked it up Quite quickly just a few parts now i need to work on . Thankyou ever so much .
You have a gift to teach. Very in depth tutorials that are easy to follow and learn. I am having trouble with that little finger stretch on the first “problem” section though, it’s a killer! I’ve got long fingers too.
Dear Maestro, thank you for your expertise. I confused when you play the full bar on the V111 fret. Please be more specific. I had a difficult time figuring which finger plays the D# , etc. Alas, after many trials throughout the years, I have learned part 1 of this fabulous piece of music. I credit your instruction for my success. May you have a long healthy life to continue your fine tutorials.
In the first section of the piece bars 9 and 10 you place the 1st finger across the 7th fret and place the 2nd finger on the 8th fret 3rd string , the melody note is played on the 1st string with the 4th finger for the D# 11th fret and the C with the 3rd finger at the 8th fret. Hope this helps.
It seems to go under various names and its authourship is in question "Estudio en Mi de Rubira" (Study in E by Rubira), "Spanish Romance", "Romance de España", "Romance de Amor", "Romance of the Guitar", "Romanza" and "Romance d'Amour" among other names. It has variously been attributed to Antonio Rubira, David del Castillo, Francisco Tárrega, Fernando Sor, Daniel Fortea, Miguel Llobet, Antonio Cano, Vicente Gómez, and Narciso Yepes. I think this confusion is to avoid copyright.
I play a D7 instead of the B7 minor then move to a B7 minor playing the B in the bass just as you play the A in the bass. Sounds really nice both ways though I prefer the way I play though I finger the B7 minor the same way you do, it's an easy move from the D7 and I agree most tutorials make it ackward with there fingering of the B7 minor.
D7 !! B7 minor!! where do you get these chords from . The 1st part of this piece is based around the three primary chords in the key of E minor ie, Im IVm V7 or Em, Am and B7 which is a dominant chord. I'm curious as to were D7 comes into it, and what is B7minor?
I don't have a classical guitar. This tutorial showed up in my recommend section. This piece sounds beautiful. Is it okay to play this on my dad's old steel string acoustic guitar or is a Spanish guitar absolutely necessary?
Simon, thank you for the tutorial. You make it look do easy. For an absolute beginner like me (started 2 months ago), it was nice watching and next is for me to practice.
Hi Simon, im certainly no beginner, studying Carcassi's works, just through the first Four Keys. But the Barre chord stretching from 7th to 11th has got me at the moment! My problem at the minute isn't the Barre itself, but holding down the M finger while stretching the little finger to Fret 11, the M finger wants to lift! Very tough, taking rests as my hand is aching like mad.
Yes thats a tough stretch - just take it a little at a time give the LH periods of rest and NEVER practice it if your hand is painful. Plenty of practice but in small amounts is the key. Be patient and in time you will manage it.
Progress so far .. bit wishy washy in parts , as im nervous on camera . and someone was monkeying around in the background . ua-cam.com/video/LJzQ4gRsdE4/v-deo.html
El problema de los arpegios es que no siempre se pulsan todas las notas del mismo modo. Unas deben ser más ligeras que otras. Tiene muy buenas manos para la guitarra ..
Thanks alot sir for letting us into this beautiful piece🙌. I wanted to know, What should be the time signature i should practice this. I can practice the first part comfortably in 130 3/4 but i want to increase the number of bpm. Please tell 🙏

Correct, that is why you try to play the melody apoyando to bring out the tune.
