Thank you so much for uploading this footage.Looooooove this woman to death!I myself am a female artist and Louise empowers me just to think about her.Loved the end of the video when she shows her humour!!! I was laughing with you Louise I will always miss you xxx
I like this was pleasantly surprised .I am a painter but had become jaded by todays art world but found this short interview with the tangerine quite congenial.I provoked thoughts of existence in me within the realm of father daughter relationships.
Quality banter from Mr Bourgeois. People complain the internet is making us lonelier, but remember kids...they used to cut-up tangerines as a form of ENTERTAINMENT
She despised her father. He was disappointed from the time of her birth that she was not a boy; this orange "joke" is a reflection of that, and a way to humiliate her (as a child no less) in front of everyone. But this was not the only reason she despised him. It was mainly because of his treatment of her mother. Among other things he had a mistress when his wife was ill (the nanny. talk about cliches). Much of LB's work is tribute to, and grieving for the loss of, her mother, and also working through her anger and hatred for her father. She was a profoundly formidable woman, one of a kind.
Please, please, for the sake of artistry.....it's a TANGERINE. The title headline says 'Orange'. Huge huge difference. Been a fan of Bourgeois for decades. Thanks.
To me 🤔 The female drawn on the peel is flat at the front but the segment in the other side can well be the vagina. That is internal and not visible from the front side. A very hidden sexual canal female have.🤗
honestly, i related. humor is not just humor, it's a form of disguise. and i can not explain why except to maybe ask, would god have a use of such a joke? is it an intelligent joke? i think not. and sure, maybe we need to laugh every now and then, but it's like a brief plateau or a resting spot of a hike. it doesn't go anywhere, and isn't much constructive. eventually you move on and continue forward on the hike, which to me the joke is just a brief pause on the work of life. that he feels the need to make that joke often is repetitive relapse.
@@taraxacum Nope. It was a silly joke with a silly fruit involved. To be riled up with insecurity and anger at this just means that this woman never had a good sense of humour.
I think it can be uncomfortable and humiliating for a child to be put on the spot, the father was pointing out how his daughter was not a boy and when everyone started laughing she obviously felt uncomfortable and like it was about her... That seems like a good reason for a child to be upset
This LEFT me with a sad feeling in my heart. I loved seeing her carve LEFT and right with her fingers. I myself would have LEFT the tangerine alone.

One great woman made pathways in the art world for women in a male control environment.

incredible and unique and precious artist Luison
This is brilliant! I love watching her facial expressions through this. Thanks ZCZ for sharing.
I deeply admire her.
Thank you for this precious gem ZCZ.
A seemingly funny story turns into a heartbreaking and angry making one.
Watched again...wonderful.
Oranges never could mean so much.I left me rather concerned that her Father was perhaps not so kind to her .Will have to watch again

how is there is a "huge huge difference" between an orange and a tangerine?
A tangerine is just a small kind of orange jfc

Dads...dont be assholes to your daughters.
Same last name and same pinky fingers. Family.
And how was this humiliating to her?
+Naïssa Amada Oh ok. Thanks.
I think she was just embarrassed
She was told she was nothing because she was not a man.
