    I am wondering about getting the EF Mount version of the Laowa 20mm shift lens, then adapting it to Sony FE via this adapter. That should work, right? Then I’d get tilt as well and maybe also shift in four directions?

      I'm assuming the lens is also a Nikon F mount? Unfortunately you can't put this adapter between a native mount lens and a native mount camera, it only works for adapting non-native lenses that have longer focal flange distances than the camera mount you're adapting it to. • @FotodioxInc

      Yes, the tilt actually tilts the focal plane of the lens. This is helpful for selective focusing or for getting a building entirely in focus that is rising away from the camera out of focus. Is it possible to make a tilt shift adapter with electrical connections for EF lenses to work with E mount? AF would be nice but a bigger deal would be for controlling the aperture of most EF lenses.

    • @FotodioxInc
      @FotodioxInc  3 роки тому +1

      No. Because you need electronic communication pins to remain connected between the lens and camera, and how could you keep them connected with 360 degree rotation, shifting and tilting? Even Canon EF tilt-shift lenses don't have auto focus for this reason.

    • @MrPhilbautista
      @MrPhilbautista 3 роки тому +1

      @@FotodioxInc It would be possible if you limit the rotation to less than 360 degrees. That limitation would be acceptable if it allows electronic communication, specially in this digital age where communication between lens and camera is quite common. The problem with Canon and Nikon is that their tech was developed during the years of film when electronic communication wasn't as important to photographers. If you create this niche, where photographers could adapt their EF lenses to tilt-shift on mirrorless cameras while maintaining electronic connection, I think it would sell well.

      @FotodioxInc  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Gratnak, unfortunately our TLT ROKR tilt-shift adapters only work for non-native lenses, mostly from DSLR and medium format cameras. We don't make a TLT ROKR that goes between a Sony E-mount lens and camera because the minute you put space between a native lens and native camera, the lens loses the ability to focus to infinity and becomes a macro focus only lens.

    • @gratnak8618

      @@FotodioxInc well, it really doesn't matter are the lenses native or not. Just trying to find a working combo for my a6400. @@gratnak8618 Oh no, the focal length will stay the same. The adapter is only creating the extra space needed for the non-native adapted lens to focus to infinity. I would need one for Leica/Pana/Sigma L mount

      Hi Armin, we currently don't offer an L-mount version, but I think we have one in the works. Keep an eye out on our social media pages for future announcements!

      @@FotodioxInc cool, I see you have now an adapter for L mount, yet only for Nikon G lenses, which do not have aperture ring. How to manage aperture then?

    • @FotodioxInc
      @FotodioxInc  Рік тому

      @@ArminHirmer The Nikon to L-mount TLT ROKR actually has an aperture control ring built into the adapter that manually adjusts and adapted Nikon lens's aperture. It just won't work with Nikon lenses that are focus by wire only.

    You can even adapt a Nikon F tilt-shift lens with this tilt-shift adapter and super tilt and super shift the lens.
    You obviously will have really bad image quality, the more you tilt or shift, but could be fun to try. Maybe.

      It's possible, but you're right, it creates a lot of vignette

    Hi, Is there TLR ROKR adapters just to have tilt and shiftuse for Nikon F lens on Nikon F mount cameras? Thanks

    • @FotodioxInc
      @FotodioxInc  4 роки тому

      Unfortunately that wouldn't work because you can't put extra space between a native lens and a native camera without losing infinity focus and only being able to focus macro. This is why we can only make tilt-shift adapters for non-native lenses that have longer focal flange distances so there's space for an adapter.
