Thank fuck that didn't get turned into a drag car. That car is a piece of NASCAR history through and through. I reckon it'd make a nice piece to restore and keep that base white, let it run, but I don't know if it'd be good to race. I couldn't imagine it getting totaled b/c there's no replicating anything on that car.
Piece of history, wow! A hellcat or supercharged 392 motor would be awesome in that thing! Do whatever you can to save this awesome piece of MOPAR and NASCAR history!
Ever sense i got into nascar in 2020, i wondered what happend to dodge, and more importantly, the 4 known dodge charger gen 6 proto types. Earlier today my friend sent me your video, and man i have to say i am shocked that 1 of the 4 actually made it out of the clutches the nascar R&D, become an actual barn find, and then fall into the hands of someone who knows the value and worth of a car such as thing one. I am extremely excited to see what you do with it, and maybe even the probable blow up of this channel and help bring back this one of a kind stock car back to its intended glory!
5:25 are those tubes? If so I think they're pressure taps, they'd be tubes going from the surface of the car leading into a sensor, and you could measure the air pressure at those points on the surface. I'm guessing they're looking at the change in air pressure as the roof flaps deployed to measure their effectiveness.
NASCAR wouldn’t have to worry about the cars looking like production cars if they would go back to actually using production cars so it’ll be actual Stock Car Racing again.
@@AngerySumo91 I mean nothing is stopping them. I mean IMSA (GT Racing) still uses stock just heavily modified. So there’s technically nothing stopping nascar from going back to being true to the roots and being true stock car racing again.
You should name this car either Dom or Daisy. I feel like a good route to go is to get it restored like you said and find a crate engine or junkyard Hemi and drive it around car shows to show people and little by gather parts to make it an actual race car
Im not a huge Dodge fan at all but this is a cool piece of NASCAR history. I remember when Dodge was the first to announce the new Gen 6 design, made a big hype about it, then announce they were not going to race the followong season. So to see one of the test bed cars with lots of the experimental pieces still intact is pretty damn cool
I’m Mopar guy and seeing that is amazing, sucks dodge left but makes you treasure finding something like this. Personally I’d paint it silver like the Sterling Martin Car and just get it to a point that it can drive just like a race car should.
You should get in touch with Ray Everanham, he had a Dodge team and might be interested in building (or assisting) a full tilt "what if" race car for display or maybe some vintage race events.
I remember seeing this car in the Dodge design studio when it was being developed in clay. It was so cool. I miss Dodge being in NASCAR. Thanks for the memories.
Really REALLY amazing you managed to find this. 1 of 4 is already a rare find, but to get a completely unpainted model too is just insane. It’s a shame they never ran this (I thought they did, I’m not really too into nascar). I’ve always been a fan of the 11-14 Charger and the somewhat aggressive styling, even if it didn’t have all the hellcat scat pack stuff they did later on.
Most NASCAR chassis’s are painted a light grey kinda white looking color, closer to white but I think everyone calls the color “chassis grey” it wouldn’t be a hard grey or something disgusting looking
First Team Penske decided to switch back to Ford (they previously ran Fords from 1994-2003 before switching to Dodge), and then Robby Gordon, the only other Cup team running Dodges at the time, left NASCAR at that same time to form his own racing series
GOT to find a Ro7 to put in that with Xpipe to boom tubes! passanger side exit OMG it would sound so sexy i know thats a chevy engine but it would be the esaest to build or find
I say finish it off and make it a driveable show car (maybe even street legal) with the reveal paint scheme on it... Just as a shell sitting there collecting dirt it will just get rotted away back to time, it should be preserved somehow...

@@JohnDoe-pg4vp It was Nascar who took it away. Nascar had it taken to Charlotte Motor Speedway and they used it as a safety team practice. Once they were done with it it was scrapped.
Yes, probably a throwback scheme to something Dodge related, maybe a Shell/Pennzoil scheme from ‘11-‘12, or one of those Mopar schemes you’d see in the truck series back in the day.

Makes sense. I thought he was referring to dodge as a brand specifically. Because you know, even though the stock cars are a far off representation of the actual road car the manufacturers still like to talk about it like it’s the same vehicle
When he says Gen 6. He's referring to Nascar's Gen 6. Not the specific generation of the car it's based off of. Nascar's Gen 6 went from 2013 to 2021. Before Gen 6, it was Gen 5 or the COT (Car of Tomorrow.) Now Nascar is on Gen 7 or The Next Gen.
Every time I see a Charger or Challenger I think how much I miss Dodge in NASCAR.

dodge pls come back we miss u 😢
Oh man this needs to be preserved in 1 way or another, Preferably video games and irl ofc lol
SOMEBODY LASER SCAN IT FOR ASSETTO CORSA
it was destroyed, nasccar found out about it took it and destoryed it
It’s nice to see this was documented before being destroyed. If only it could’ve stayed long enough to get built 😭
Someone posted your video on Reddit, awesome find!
That Car deserves a..."PETTY 43" Wrap !!!
I second this idea
Would make a dope track day car
I've allways dreamt to buy a nascar and go to a trackday, since im european, it will be a pretty weird thing for the people at the track
The front of that thing is the exact reason it was put in the bushes

That duct was probably inspired by F1 (f-ducts and the like)
Those scan dots on the front fascia give me flashbacks to when I worked with those

I was wondering if the gen 6 dodge was eligible to run in arca
you need to restore it and have a company scan the fiberglass to make shells for other race cars
It’ll look like wall’e
Would be cool if you go the body laser scanned. You could make replicas to have fun with and keep this as is.
cant, nascar destroyed it.
Maannnnn if we had this charger coupe manual production car life might been different once people really catch on for their purpose
