Thanks for a great, simple FPP tutorial. My list of quilting projects and challenges for 2022 includes mastering foundation paper piecing, and this was just what I needed to get started.
Thank you, I can't wait to give it a try. Loved your little night scene, made me laugh out loud. I have not done this yet , your video is just the push I needed .
Great Tutorial Christopher. Very easy to follow you and not rushing thru the video. Your are calming thru the whole video which helps to watch and follow along. Thanks for your great video. Frances PS I love your fabrics too!
instead of holding it to the light for placement- when you have your paper folded to trim that quarter inch, line your neqw fabric up behind the seam allowance nice and even. You can see it and it keeps you from needing to trim that allowance again after stitching, its already nice and neat and perfectly placed.
I love foundation paper piecing. It’s my go-to method, but honestly, I’ve never used the actual foundation paper; just use very thin computer paper. I like the idea that it doesn’t curl. I may have to invest in some.
You got this! Use a fabric safe glue and remember not to go crazy so you don't get glue on your iron. Try it once without glue too, you may surprise yourself!
@@christopherthompson9489 i forgot to say how much I love your blossom fabrics. Love love love them. 🇦🇺 I think they will be a staple for me. I have used them so much.
I must be missing something…. I’ve watched several FPP tutorials and watched each of you holding up to the light, sewing, then holding up to the light again and so on. Why isn’t the design just printed on both sides? This would eliminate the tiresome task of aligning the fabrics from the other side! I was thinking of buying the blank foundation paper and giving printing on both sides a try. Thanks for all you do Christopher. I’ve been collecting Blue and White china for years and love your fabrics!
Not a fan of the crazy fast sped up section. Some of the of us like to see the whole experience. One thing I did learn was to scale up my needle size. Haven't seen that mentioned elsewhere with FPP.
Christopher is so funny and engaging. He really takes the scary out of FPP. What a great tutorial!
You always do such a great job of instructing viewers on quilting.
Easy to follow.
Thank you Linda! Very kind of you to say. Happy sewing!

Christopher is a great teacher. He made this so clear.
Thank you Sharyn! =)

You got this! You'll be a pro in no time!
So lovely! After the fun filled day I just finished, I get to sit with my hand quilting and watch you work. Thank you for your inspiration and talent!
I've now seen your exact same comments on 3 channels, really, get genuine and think of something new to say?

Me too, but when this came out, I just new I had to try it. I love it.
I've not tried FPP, but this video makes me want to. It looks like you need to get into a routine with the steps, then practice.
That's exactly right! I had to practice several times until I was able to full understand the routine. You got this!
Love your videos Christopher ❤
Thank you so much! =)
I love FPP -- great tutorial!
Thanks Karla!
“Add a 1/4” ruler is worth it!!!!!
Yes!
Very good video, I put the link in my website column.
I love that "cross stitch" quilt on the ladder behind you!! Where could l find that pattern? Thanks!!
I love it too and asked the same question but have never received a reply!
Hi there - I think it's this free pattern -- www.rileyblakedesigns.com/assets/images/freepatterns/quiltpatterns/KissesFreePattern.pdf
I’m excited to try for the first time. What glue do you use?

The video is working fine for me….
I find that by folding the paper on the lines it makes it easier to align the fabrics. Great tutorial though
Oh yes, that's a great method too!

Can I borrow the guy that picks stuff up later!
I've heard he's available and prefers to be paid in Diet Coke, Gummy Bears, and Fabric. LOL!

It really does help and don't forget to reduce your stitch size too. Happy sewing!
What glue do you use?
Use a fabric safe glue. You can find them at your local quilt shop or online retailer.
