These are not widely distributed, but Hasty Bake in Tulsa makes a traditional, old school but extremely versatile stainless charcoal grill. The brand flies under the radar, as it has been around 60 years with little notice. I have their top-of-the line pro series, which cost me more than I paid for my Weber Summit 670.p, and is built like a tank and has a double walled firebox. I can grill, bake, sear, or smoke. Last charcoal grill I will own.
The MB is priced so long because it's made so cheaply. I'm stubborn so I bought three of these in a span of four years because I like the concept so much. All three have ended up in the dump after about a year and a half. They're very cheaply made out of very thin metal which just disintegrates with the heat. If you're going to use one of these three times of summer, great. Store it inside your garage outside of the elements and maybe you'll get 3 years out of it. But if you're like me and the grill has to live outside and you grill 3 times a week, it won't last.
Great video! Stuck between the Weber and the cast iron one. What does the maintenance look like on the cast iron unit? Would love to see a video on that
I have the Masterbuilt 1050 and it’s holding up well after about a year. The weak point of the cooker is the manifold in the cook chamber. I had to buy a modded cover for it to keep it lasting a bit longer. Price point is on par with build quality and performance. Just had my first issue with the fan not turning on. I had to go cosmonaut from the movie Armageddon on it and started beating on it. Kicked on but has me worried it might stop working in the middle of an overnight cook, so the set it and forget it feature is no longer there…
I own a Char-Griller Gravity Fed 980 , which is very similar in design and the same thing happened with mine. It turned out to be a piece of charcoal was lodged in the fan so it could not spin.
@@embersliving yes, it's from the high heat, the thing eats it's self alive. It's a great concept, I wish a company like Weber or Napoleon would make a higher end version of a gravity smoker.
@@embersliving After complaining to you about my Masterbuilt rusting out, I ordered a Akron Auto Kamado, check it out I think you'd love it, its not a Gucci Kamado by any means like what you sell. But unlike everything else on the market it combines a double wall insulated steal constructed 20in Kamado with a temperature controlled blower fan system like on a gravity smoker, I can't wait to try it out. right now its only at Lowes, I hope they open the orders up so independent guys like yourself can sell them.
Have had BIG GREEN EGGS, and PRIMOS, and now the WEBBER SUMMIT. The Webber is simply better. Lighter, easier to move, holds temp as well as ANY kamado. And is much cheaper than the KJ or PRIMO. My PRIMO was great, and the oval shape is the way to go, frankly. But it was knocked over by my landscaper and broke like an egg. My BIG GREEN EGG met the same fate. I no longer use those landscapers.
I had a MB 800. Worked great for two years then had to start replacing parts. Replaced control panel, fan, and switches. Finally just completely died. Ended up taking a sawzall to it and fit it in the garbage. I’ll never buy another Masterbuilt. Total garbage.
This is a very sad review. How could you not have the webber classic 22" kettle not included. Sure the Summit is webber but it's a non ceramic Kamado. Simply not a kettle. Sad, so sad.
@Embers Fireplaces & Outdoor Living awesome? I think that word gets overused. However I agree it's a nice Kamado, no ceramics to crack and weighs less. You are really pushing Kamado's though and honestly I don't recommend Kamado's for grills. They take to long to get up to temp. You showed the PK. A Damm fine grill. But at a considerable extra cost then a webber kettle. I know you're trying to help your sales but a $300 webber master touch is a better grill then a Kamado. If and when someone decides that they want a dedicated smoker then suggest a Kamado. Or a webber smoky mountain. Or a insulated vertical smoker. Or a nice offset. That's all I'm saying. Grilling? Get the kettle. Have a great day 🌞.
Any chance of getting a top 5 flat top grills or griddles for an outdoor kitchen
hmm we have a few in the store not enough for a top 5 YET
I look forward to it if you do get enough in.

Love my PK300
awesome!
Ash sweep!

The Goldens is really good. IT would be a unique grill to own. We've heard more feedback on the Weber so I would probably choose that one.
how does the napoleon 605 charcoal compare?
I like these more.

Interesting. It's always the fans. Thanks for letting the audience know!
Replacement fan is only $15 🙂

@@lionelcordova5588i was bout to comment this. Sometimes charcoal or ash builds up, just gotta clean it up.
What about the Blaze kamado?
they are solid as well, they tend to get pretty hot on the outside
9:25 I've been wondering what makes a Kamado grill worth $10,000 apparently nothing since they don't what you to let the public know.
good question
Cast iron is the most easily destructible metal from there.
PK ALL DAY!
nice!
There hasn't been an outdoor kitchen video in 6 months. How is that going?
its almost done! Make sure for the reveal, probably mid June
Old smokey grill is a budget friendly American made charcoal grill and will last a long time.
Nice, I've never heard of that one.
I'm with you on the Kamado but it's literally $1200 more than the Weber Kamado. Bang for the buck the Weber looks more attractive.
easy to clean too
@@embersliving Webber also can cool off a a heck of a lot quicker if you over shoot temps
That cast iron kamado, from a practical installation/maneuverability sense must weigh a hell of a lot...
yes it does!
I have a masterbuilt 560 gravity, and they are cheap for a reason they'll rust out after 2-4 years.
do you have a cover

Oh dang
The m1 and m16 are better than all these grills
nice!
You lost me by recommending a master built. Thing only lasted a season for me and also my neighbor who bought one because he liked mine.
Oh dang that sucks!
Anyone else get a Biff Tannen vibe from this guy?
